Anjali- (bright smile) Hello friends! Main hoon aapki host aur dost, Anjali. Aur aap dekh rahe hain apna favorite cookery show apne favorite Chef Atul ke saath. Toh chaliye, Kuch Meetha Hojaaye? (bright enthusiastic smile)
Atul- Ji bilkul. Kuch meetha ho hi jaaye. (bright smile)
Anjali- So Chef Atul, aaj aap hume kya meetha meetha banaana sikhaayenge?
Atul- Well, aaj kal monsoon season chal raha hai toh aksar baarish ke saath garam garam jalebi khaane ka mood hojaata hai. Toh aaj, hum banaayenge Punjabi classic jalebi.
Anjali- Yum! Mere moo mein toh abhi se paani aane lag gaya. So chaliye jaldi jaldi jalebi banaati hain aur baarish ke saath iss classic Punjabi sweet ka mazaa uthaate hain.
Atul- So, humaari special jalebi banaane ke liye hume chahiye...
(Zoom into each ingredient on the counter)
Atul- Aaye shuru karte hain. Toh pehle, maida, rice flour ya semolina, baking powder, yogurt aur 1 cup paani eik bowl mein daalke ache se mix kariye. Anjali ji aap zara woh bowl mujhe pass kardijiye.
Anjali- Oh sure. (passes the bowl over)
Atul- Thank you. (adds ingredients and whisks thoroughly) Usske baad, 1 cup paani mein 2 strings saffron, 2 tbsps rose water, aur orange food coloring ke 2 drops add kariye aur eik baar phir ache se mix kariye jab tak aapka yeh jo batter hai, woh poori tarhaan se smooth na hojaaye.
Anjali- Yeh main karoon?
Atul-Yes, of course! (moves aside to let her start)
Anjali- Toh jaise ki aap dekh rahe hain main yeh batter ache se mix kar rahi hoon, aur yeh almost smooth... (mixes a bit more) haan. Hogaya. (looks up and smiles) Toh iss hi ke saath lete hain eik chota sa break. We'll be back! (smiles and scene fades to commercial)
Atul- So Anjali... main soch raha tha ki...
Anjali- (rolls her eyes and smiles) Shut up, Atul.
Atul- Arre leikn maine abhi tak...
Anjali- (cuts him off) Forget it.
Atul- (raises his hands in defeat) Fine.
Anjali- (smiles) Pick me up at 7. (winks)
Atul- (grins) See you at 7 then.
Assistant Director- Atul, Anjali... we're on.
Anjali- (bright smile) Welcome back to Kuch Meetha Hojaaye! So Chef Atul, aage hum kya karne waale hain?
Atul- Ab yeh jo batter hai, isse hum 2 ghante tak side pe rakhenge. Par kyunki, humaare paas itna time hai nahi, toh humne pehle se hi batter tayaar karke rakha hai. Jo wahaan pada hai aapke peeche.
Anjali- (turns to the side counter) Oh great! (picks up the bowl and puts it on the counter while setting the other bowl aside) So what's the next step? (bright smile)
Atul- Ab hum apni Monsoon Jalebiyon ka syrup tayaar karenge. So, hum apne yeh 3 cups cheeni ke 1 1/2 cup paani mein dissolve karenge. Lekin, iss se pehle ke saari cheeni dissolve hojaaye, hum apne syrup mein 1 string saffron aur 1/4 tsp cardamom powder add karenge. Toh Anjali ji, aap zara iss syrup ko mix kijiye, tab tak main yeh tel kadhaai mein garam karta hoon.
Anjali- Sure. (takes over for him) Aur yeh hogaya syrup tayaar. Chaliye, ab iss hi ke saath hum eik chota sa break lete hain aur aake dekhenge Chef Atul ki delicious jalebiyaan kaise bannti hain, right here on Kuch Meetha Hojaaye. Take a break. (smiles as scene fades out)
Atul- Hey, zara woh spoon dena.
Anjali- (hands the spoon to him) So... hum aaj shyaam kahaan jaane waale hain?
Atul- (sets spoon down and turns to her) Oh I don't know. Did you have something specific in mind? (leans in close to her face)
Anjali- (smiles and covers his lips with her hand) Surprise me. (walks away and grabs a bottle of water)
Atul- (chuckles to himself) Of course. As usual. Koi baat nahi. Sochne ke liye bohot time hai. Not.
Assistant Director- Get ready guys... 3,2,1...
Anjali- (title screen comes up) Welcome back doston! Aap dekh rahe hain Kuch Meetha Hojaaye aur aaj hum Chef Atul ke saath banaana seekh rahe hain classic Punjabi style Jalebi. Iss baarish ke season ko fully enjoy karne ke liye jalebiyaan toh honi hi chahiyein, kyun Chef Atul?
Atul- Bilkul! Monsoon mein insaan ko chahiye hi kya? Bas eik cup chai, garma garam pakode, aur saath mein eik plate jalebiyaan.
Anjali- Well said and very appetizing! Toh break se pehle aapne dekha ki kaise humne jalebiyaan banaane ki preparations karli. Ab chaliye, Chef Atul ke saath hum aage badhte hain aur dekhte hain, next step.
Atul- Well, break pe jaane se pehle humne yeh tel kadhaai mein daala aur garam kiya, aur ab jo humne show ke beginning mein batter banaaya tha usse hum eik baar acche se mix karenge (mixes for 10seconds) aur phir isse deep fry karenge. Jaise ke aap sab jaante honge, jalebi jo hoti hai usski eik alag hi shape hoti hai.
Anjali- Spiral shaped.
Atul- Exactly. Toh hume iss baat ka khayaal rakhna hoga jab hum innhe deep fry karenge ki yeh achhe se shape mein aayein. Usske liye kayee log coconut shell mein hole karte hain aur batter ko ussme se shape dete hue fry karte hain, lekin kyunki woh cheez sabke paas available nahi hai issiliye, hum spoon se hi circular motion mein batter ko kadhaai mein daalenge aur inhe halka sa golden brown karenge.
5 minutes later...
Anjali- (inhales the scent and sighs blissfully) Kya khushboo hai!
Atul- (smiles) Almost ready. Jaise ke aap dekh sakte hain yeh halki golden brown ho chuki hain, toh ab hum innhe iss plate mein nikaalenge jispe napkin already rakha excess oil absorb karne ke liye. (takes the jalebis out) Anjali ji zara woh syrup laaye jo humne kuch der pehle tayaar kiya tha.
Anjali- (brings the bowl over) This is really exciting. Main kabse wait kar rahi thi innke ready hone ka. Finally. (laughs)
Atul- (laughs) Yes, finally. Achha ab yeh jo jalebiyaan humne napkin pe rakhi thi, inn mein se saara excess tel nikal chuke hai toh ab hum innhe iss syrup ke bowl mein daalenge aur 4-5 minute ke liye chod denge.
Anjali- Ah, taaki syrup ko soak up karlein.
Atul- Right. (takes them out after 5 minutes and sets them on a plate) Aur yeh hogayeen humaari jalebiyaan khaane ke liye tayaar. Toh zara chakh pe bataaye kaisi bani hain.
Anjali- (bright smile) My pleasure. Main toh poore episode se wait kar rahi thi. (takes a bite and closes her eyes) Mmmmm. So good. Chef Atul, aapke haaton mein sach much jaadoo hai. Maine aaj tak itni tasty jalebiyaan nahi khayeen. (turns to the camera) So there you have it. Monsoon season ke liye special Punjabi Jalebis woh bhi humaare apne Chef Atul ke haaton bani. So doston, eik aur recipe, eik aur episode liye milte hain agle hafte. Tab tak ke liye, main hoon aapki host aur dost Anjali...
Atul- Aur main hoon Chef Atul...
Anjali- Aap log iss delicious recipe ka quick recap enjoy kijiye aur hum dono inn jalebiyon ko enjoy karte hain. (scene switches to quick recap)

After wrapping up the shoot, Atul was leaving his dressing room when he bumped into Anjali...
Anjali- Chef Atul.
Atul- Anjali ji. (nods and smiles)
Anjali- (laughs) I'll be ready by 7 sharp.
Atul- (smiles) Perfect. See you then.
Anjali- See you.
7 p.m., Anjali's house...
*doorbell rings then opens after 50 secs*
Anjali- I'm impressed. Tum sharp 7 baje pohonch gaye.
Atul- (smiles) Main hamesha time pe hi aata hoon, Anjali. Ready to go? (extends arm)
Anjali- Yeah. (loops arm around his)
At the restaurant table...
Atul- So, khaana kaisa laga?
Anjali- It was amazing! When I said 'surprise me,' main itna achha surprise expect nahi kar rahi thi.
Atul- Well, I'm glad ki tumhe achha laga. So, kuch meetha hojaaye?
Anjali- (laughs) Not again, Atul. I love my job, lekin itni nahi ki baar bar yeh line sunn sakoon.
Atul- (laughs) Theek hai , but phir bhi question answer toh kardo. Dessert?
Anjali- (smiles) Sure.
Atul calls the waiters over with the trolley...
Atul- A Chef Atul special, aapke liye... Anjali ji. (bright smile)
Anjali- Yeh tumne banaaya hai???
Atul- Of course! Khaana restaurant ka khaaya lekin kuch toh personal touch dena padta hai naa?
Anjali- It's beautiful, Atul. (smiles)
Atul- Achha, Anjali, cake ke corner pe jo roses hain naa, unn pe se woh pink ribbon hataao.
Anjali- Kyun?
Atul- You'll see. (smiles)
Anjali- (moves the ribbon up) Oh my God! Atul...
Atul- (smiles) Pasand aayee?
Anjali- I... I love it! (smiles sincerely) Do I have to put it on myself?
Atul- (laughs) No, I think I can do that. (takes the ring out and cleans the band off and slips it on her finger) So... (keeps her hand in his) answer toh mujhe mil gaya, but still, formality ke liye... Anjali, will you marry me?
Anjali- (smiles brightly) Yes. I can't believe tumne eik saal lagaa diya. (laughs)
Atul- I can't believe it either. (laughs)
4 days later... Atul's house.
Omi- Chalo, ready? (smiles)
Chitra- Ji. Atul kahaan hai?
Omi- Woh saath nahi chal raha. Keh raha hai ki mood nahi hai usska.
Chitra- Achha theek hai, kam se kam yeh toh bataa dein ki hum jaane lage hain.
Omi- Theek hai.
Atul's room...
Atul- (on the phone) Anjali, I think hume apne parents ko bataa dena chahiye. Waise bhi Mom mujhe kabse shaadi karne ko bol rahi hain. Unhe pata chalega toh bohot khush hongi. Aur tumhe toh pata hai ki woh tumhe kitna pasand karti hain.
Scene splits...
Anjali- (smiles) Atul, I love your mom. Lekin mujhe lagta hai ki abhi bataana theek nahi hai. Afterall, humne unhe 1 saal wait karvaaya hai. Next week Aunty aur Uncle ki 25th Anniversary hai naa, toh party mein announcement kardenge. Double surprise.
Atul- Perfect! That's a great idea! Jab unhone 1 saal wait kiya hai toh 1 week aur sahi.
Anjali- Okay then. Achha listen, I have to go. Dad bulaa rahe hain.
Atul- (sighs) Zaroori hai?
Anjali- Atulll... kya tum chahte ho ke Dad tumse abhi se irritate hojaayein?
Atul- (laughs) Never mind. Jaao.
Anjali- (laughs) Alright. I love you. Bye.
Atul- (smiles) I love you too. Bye. (falls back on his bed)
Chitra- (smiles and whispers to Omi) Finally!
Omi- (smiles) Mere paas eik idea hai. Chalo. (both leave)
3 days later on the sets...
Anjali- (bright smile) Hello friends! Main hoon aapki host aur dost, Anjali. Aur aap dekh rahe hain apna favorite cookery show apne favorite Chef Atul ke saath (Atul waves). Toh chaliye, Kuch Meetha Hojaaye? (bright enthusiastic smile) Toh Chef Atul aaj ka kya plan hai?
Atul- Hello everyone! Anjali ji, aaj kal mangos ka season chal raha hai toh maine socha ki kyun naa aaj tasty mango treats banaayein?
Anjali- That's great! I love mangoes! So what are we starting with today?
Atul- A very special Mango Pudding. Aur iss ki khaas baat yeh hai ki yeh eik bohot hi simple si recipe hai.
Anjali- Sounds delicious! Toh start karein?
Atul- Bilkul. Toh Mango Pudding banaane ke liye hume chahiye...
Zoom into each ingredient on the counter
Atul- Toh chaliye start karte hain. Sabse pehle oven ko 350 pe preheat karte hain. Anjali ji, would you please?
Anjali- Of course. (turns the oven on)
Atul- Thank you. (smiles) Okay. Next, eik dish mein cheeni, doodh, flour, baking soda, namak, cinnamon, allspice, aur butter daaliye aur ache se mix kariye. (mixes until smooth) Ab yeh jo aadha mixture hai, isse hum eik glass baking dish mein daalenge aur phir usske uppar sliced mangoes daal denge, bilkul eik layer ki tarhaan. Aakhir mein, jo baaki ka aadha mixture hai, usse hum mangoes ke uppar pour kardenge. Ab yeh jo bowl hai isse hum about 35 minutes ke liye oven mein rakhenge aur bake karenge. Par kyunki humaare paas itna time nahi hai, issiliye humne pehle se hi eik bowl bake karke rakha hai. Lekin hum yeh waala waste nahi karenge so Anjali ji, please?
Anjali- (sets the bowl in the oven) Wow! That was a really fast recipe.
Atul- Exactly. Ab yeh jo humne pehle se bake karke rakhi hai, isse hum ice cream ke saath serve karenge (adds ice cream on top) Aur yeh humaari Mango Dessert tayaar hai.
Anjali- Wow! It looks great! (takes a bite) Delicious! (turns to the camera) Aake dekhenge Chef Atul ki next delicious recipe! Take a break. (bright smile as scene fades to recipe recap, then commercial)
Atul- So, kal ke liye ready ho, right?
Anjali- Haan, but I'm so nervous.
Atul- (rubs her arm) Don't be nervous yaar. Humaare parents bohot khush honge. I mean, think about it, hum dono eik saal se date kar rahe hain. Aur woh log tabse wait kar rahe hain ki kab hum unhe koi good news denge.
Anjali- (smiles) Tum theek keh rahe ho. I just... (sighs) Tumhe lagta hai ki main eik achhi bahu bann paoongi?
Atul- (kisses her on the forehead) I think ki tum jaisi ho, waisi hi Mom ko pasand ho. Unhe aur kuch nahi chahiye.
Assistant Director- Guys, we're on!
Anjali- (bright smile) Welcome back! Break se pehle humne dekha ki kaise Chef Atul ne eik quick aur tasty Mango Pudding banayee. So Chef Atul, aapke menu pe next item kya hai?
Atul- Next item hai Chocolate Fruit Cups. Yeh eik bohot hi achha aur simple snack hai bachhon ke liye. Aur isse banaane ke liye, hume chahiye...
Atul- Toh pehle hum yeh cooking chocolate ko eik pan mein nikaalenge, 1 cup cheeni add karenge, aur stove pe kuch 5 minute tak cook karenge. (stirs the chocolate around) Aap chahein toh cheeni nahi bhi daal sakte hain. Woh kya hai ki cooking chocolate mein koi added sugar nahi hoti. Toh daalne na daalna aap pe depend karta hai.
Anjali- Now, Chef Atul, yeh jo saare fruits hain aapne sab tropical hi kyun choose kiye?
Atul- (still cooking) Anjali ji, garmiyon ke mausam mein tropical fruits ka apna hi mazaa hota hai. Waise aap iss recipe mein kaunse fruits use karte hain yeh aap pe depend karta hai, par jaise ke maine pehle kahaa, ki aaj mera mood bohot hi tropical hai, issiliye yeh saare colorful fruits aapke saamne hain. (smiles)
Anjali- Colorful indeed. Kaafi interesting recipe lagti hai yeh. Khaane mein bhi aur dekhne mein bhi.
Atul- Woh toh tayaar hone ke baad hi pata chalega. (smiles) Okay, toh jaise ke aap dekh sakte hain, yeh jo chocolate hai ab poori tarhaan se tayaar hai toh ab hum isse inn mini cupcake liners mein eik spoon ke saath daalenge. Achhi tarhaan se cupcake liners ko andar se cover kijiye chocolate ke saath aur phir liner ko khaali kardijiye. (dumps the chocolate back in the pan) Liners mein sirf chocolate ki outline honi chahiye. Aur ab hum yeh saare liners freezer mein rakh denge 2-3 hours ke liye. Anjali ji, inhe zara freezer mein rakh dijiye, aur jo andar tayaar tray hai usse le aaye.
Anjali- Sure. (puts the liners in the freezer and pulls the prepared ones out) Here you go.
Atul- Thank you. Dhyaan rakhiye ki chocolate bilkul bhi naram naa ho. Ab aap cupcake liners ko carefully chocolate se alag kardijiye taaki aapke paas bachein yeh pyaare se chocolate cups. (smiles as he holds one up)
Anjali- How cute! Achha toh Chef Atul, yeh paper liners easily uttar jaate hain?
Atul- Ji. Lekin bohot carefully utaarna padta hai kyunki yeh dhyaan mein rakhna hai ki andar se chocolate ki base naa toote.
Anjali- Right. (helps him separate the liners from the chocolate)
Atul- Humne yeh saare liners chocolate se alag kardiye hain toh ab hai baari fruits ki. Aap apni marzi ke fruits in cups mein bhar sakte hain jaise ki main kar raha hoon aur phir, innke uppar thoda sa whipped cream daaliye and add a blueberry on top. Lijiye, yeh hogaye aapke Chocolate Fruit Cups tayaar.
Anjali- How nice! Yeh toh sach mein bachhon ke liye eik healthy aur fun snack hai. Chaliye iss hi ke saath lete hain eik chota sa break. Aake dekhenge Chef Atul ki aaj ki last dessert, right here on Kuch Meetha Hojaaye! (bright smile as scene fades to recipe recap, then commercial)
Atul- (clearing the counter off) Anjali, main soch raha tha ki shoot ke baad hall chalein. Preparations check karne ke liye. Tum free ho?
Anjali- Haan. Par, tumne check kar toh liya tha. Kuch change kiya hai kya?
Atul- Nahi kuch khaas nahi. Just a few menu and decoration changes. Nothing major.
Anjali- Okay, fine. Jaake check karlenge, Mr. Perfectionist. (laughs lightly)
Atul- Thanks. (smiles and moves closer to her)
Makeup Artist- (clears throat) Anjali, touch up?
Anjali- (smiles) Yeah, thanks Borna.
Borna- (smiles as she touches up Anjali's makeup) So... is there something you want to tell us?
Anjali- Kis baare mein?
Borna- Oh, I don't know... something important? ( grins)
Anjali- (gives her a confused look) Borna, you really need a vacation yaar. (walks back to her spot as Borna laughs)
Assistant Director- (smiles knowingly) We're on. 3,2,1...
Anjali- Welcome back doston! Aap dekh rahe hain, Kuch Meetha Hojaaye! Break se pehle Chef Atul ne hume Chocolate Fruit Cups banaana sikhaaye. So Chef Atul, aaj ki humaari aakhri dessert kya hai?
Atul- (smiles) Anjali ji, aaj ki aakhri dessert hai...
Atul-Anjali's Parents- (come into the frame) Surprise!
Atul-Anjali-(shocked) Mom? Dad?
Anjali- (tries to control the situation with a fake smile) Well, lagta hai aaj humaare show pe hain 4 very special guests. Chef Atul ke aur mere parents. What a surprise!
Atul- (smiles nervously) Quite a pleasant one. Aap log yahaan?
Chitra-Smriti- (smile at the camera) Aaj ki aakhri dessert hai eik bohot hi special khushkhabri.
Omi-Shashank- (smile at the camera) Jo aapko humaare dono bachhe, Chef Atul aur Anjali dene waale hain.
Atul-Anjali- (exchange confused glances) Khushkhabri?
Smriti- (smiles) Hume sab pata hai.
Chitra- Hum jaante hain ki tum dono hume kal surprise dena chahte the, lekin humne socha ki kyun na hum hi tum dono ko surprise de dein. (smiles)
Atul- Mom?
Omi- Abhi bhi nahi bataaoge? Theek hai.
Shashank- (turns to the camera) Aap sab viewers ke liye khushkhabri yeh hai ki aapki host Anjali aur favorite Chef Atul bohot hi jaldi shaadi karne waale hain! (whole crew and parents clap while Atul-Anjali stand stunned)
Anjali- Dad? Aapko kaise...
Omi- Maine aur Chitra ne kal Atul aur tumhaari baatein sunn li thi, bas tab hi humne tumhaare Mom-Dad ke saath plan banaaya aur yahaan aagaye tum dono ko surprise dene. Kaisa laga surprise?
Atul- You're the best, Dad! (hugs him)
Chitra- Aur Mom?
Atul- (hugs her) Love you, Mom!
Chitra- (goes over and kisses Anjali on the forehead) Welcome to the family, beta.
Anjali- (hugs her) Thank you Aunty... Mom.

Atul- (smiles) Finally.

I know it isn't like my usual stuff, but last year, you guys got a very dark and depressing R-M one-shot for Friendship Day, so this year, I thought I'd tone it down and do something fun and lighthearted!
