Awesome update! This was such a fun read. And I loved how you described Mayank as "he never saw women" and all...so ahhhhh can't wait till he meets Nupur. 😃. Seriously love how you've related all the characters in your FF, like Samrat and Nupur as best friends and Uday and CJ and Benji and everything. Aw, thanks dear! Your comments mean a lot!

So I decided not to have Mayank and Nupur meet so soon, and I skipped Mummy's party. You can imagine Mayank and everyone getting scolded by Mummy and then all happily danced and sang (especially Uday) for her. 😉

Enjoy this part!

They had spent almost an entire afternoon in the outdoor area, boiling in the hot sun and doing absolutely nothing. Neither Benji nor Nupur had started their scenes, the leading lady making Deodhar Sir do her scene over and over, over and over, over and over again. Exchanging annoyed glances, Benji tapped the assistant to Deodhar on the shoulder, telling Vatsala that they were heading off to get a cup of coffee from the Starbucks Nupur had spotted on her way to the spot for the shoot.

"What nonsense is this Benji?" Nupur ranted as soon as the pair were out of hearing range of the production crew. "Agar hum Morena mein hote, to aisa kabhi nahin hota! I mean, we may be 'junior artistes' but we still have some importance in this show. We should be shown some respect!" She glared at Benji, who shrunk back slightly, despite knowing that her anger was not directed at him.

"Nupur, meri jaan," Benji tried to pacify her. "You know how this Sheena is na? Ever since she got that role, she's been acting like the show is all about her."

Nupur pouted. "She doesn't even act that well," she whined.

"Diya is so much better," Benji grinned goofily, referring to the original leading lady of the show, to whom Sheena had been hired as the parallel lead. Nupur shook her head playfully, knowing of Benji's (very obvious) crush on Diya.

Nupur fiddled with one end of her dupatta as the two continued to make their way to Starbucks, debating about the current track of the soap. Neither noticed the entourage that was walking towards them until one of them bumped shoulders with Benji. A distracted apology from both parties, and they moved on.

Mayank had his phone in one hand, and with the other, was gesturing to his assistant, elaborating on plans for their newest venture. Behind him, Uday and CJ were deep in discussion about the pros and cons of the venture. He debated with his mother about dinner at the same time. Managing to keep three conversations separate, yet carrying them out at the same time, and walking as well, was something he found tough, and so he almost collided heavily with a couple walking down the street. Almost, because he noticed them out of the corner of his eye and managed to swerve slightly so that he only bumped into the young man's shoulder.

Apologising to the man ("No, not you Ma," he rolled his eyes.), he carried on, trying to convince his mother that it was better to make Indian food for dinner that night rather than attempt something new, because she tended to get distracted by her TV.

"Tum bhi na Mayu," his mother scolded. Mayank let an affectionate smile cross his face, before something clicked in his head, recognising the couple he had almost mowed down from one of the shows his mother watched. He was pretty sure it was them that he had just passed. He turned to look back.

Nupur let out a small shriek. Benji jumped with a girly scream. "Kya hua?" He whirled around, looking for the cause of her agitation. Nupur made a face.

"My dupatta got stuck," she explained. Benji sighed, looking at the girl. Granted, the dupatta had stretched across her neck, pressing against her windpipe, but no reason for her to emit such a shrill scream. Nupur twirled around, tugging at the dupatta, which had gotten stuck on a bench. She frowned, pulling at the cloth. A tearing sound had both looking at one another, before Nupur's face scrunched up as she held up the dupatta, which now had a gaping hole through which she looked at Benji.

His panicked, "Please don't start crying," set her off into a dramatic wail.

Mayank raised an amused eyebrow as he noticed the couple stop in the middle of the pavement, the girl stuck to a bench. He shook his head when she wailed upon seeing the rip in her dupatta, and turned to leave.

"So," he asked Uday and CJ, his assistant still trailing behind them, taking notes, "where were we?"

🤣 🤣With that in thought, to the update:

That last part was just soo...Nupurish! I love it when she wails dramatically! And Mayu looking at her amused and then turning around smiling is just soo...HIM! *swoons and dies! You know, even reading about Mayu makes me want to die and slowly be lifted by an angel (who is eggactly like mayu in attitude (if he looks better than Arjun, highly impossible but still if he does, than awesomeness!)) anyhoo, to be lifted by an angel who smiles at the growing blush under my soft skin and floating up into the heavens...is per...wait, IN WHITE is perfect! *swoons.

Erhmmm yeah, loved it! And ohh ME IS the first person to comment, lets say I'm Zero the Hero? 😉 LOVe it? Yeah, me too! *hugs*

LOL!! I loved this part. Nups is so dramatic.... and I love how Mayu was having 3 convos at once. How does he do that? Anyways, ah-mazing like always :)
