Part-4

mayank's mom came to his room calling his name:

MM: mayu...

no reply..

she enters the room and sees....mayank sitting on the study table...an office file opened in front of him....mayank's head resting on his palm and his hand on the table with the support of the elbow......mayank smiling'.lost in thoughts....

Mom snapped her fingers in front of him....n mayank sudenly gained conscious....

MM: kya hua beta...kahan khoya hua hai??

M: maa!!...kuch nahi....wo baarish ho rahi hai na isliye....bas apni 1st date yaad aa gayi thi....

Mom's face was lit up as she heard "1st date" and she started smiling as she remembered mayu's embarrasement on having being caught with "the lipstick mark"!!

M: maa hasna band karo!! kab tak ek hi baat ke liye chedti rahogi....waise bhi abhi kuch hafton mein humaari engagement ho jayegi.....

mom suddenly remembering something....tapped her head with a "how can i forget" look!!

MM: oh haan beta!! engagement se yad aya...ye dekh...

extending a small jewellery box in front of him....

mayank opened it to find a beautiful peice of jewellery lying inside....he looked at her questioningly!!

M: maa ye kya hai...aur kiske liye???

MM: beta ye humaari khaandani payal (anklet) hai( picking it up from the box and displaying it on her palm).....ye teri daadi ne mujhe di thi...aur ab main ise nupur ko doongi!!.....

M: wow!! maa kitani sundar hai...par tumne pehle kabhi iske baare mein nahi bataya..

MM: tu sunta kahan tha....nupur se milne se pehle jab bhi teri shaadi ke baare mein kuch kehti thi to mujhpe hi chillaane lagta tha....

M: acchha sorry maa!!...taking the payal from her hand....and stares at it....

he hears the sound of payal from outside....he peeped to see who was it....he's shocked to see that it was nupur in beautiful pink lehenga, lifting it a little from bottom so that her feet is clearly visible'..she was wearing the same payal.....it fitted her so well!!....it was looking elegant on her delicate ankles....he stared at her surprisingly n lovingly....then he looked at the payal in his hand with a confused look!!

then again he looked up to look at her but she had vanished....then he peeped here and there to search for her...only to realize that he was DREAMING!!!

mean while his mom was noticing him.....

he smiled at himself..and then at his mom....she broadened her smile and said-

MM: kya hua beta kisi ko dekha kya???

M: nahi!! nahi to!!! bilkul nahi!!!

she smiled and gave a "iska kuch nahi ho sakta" look!!....then she stretched out her hand to take away the paayal saying-

MM: beta main usse ye kal de doongi...

mayank immediately took his hands back not allowing her to take it away....

M: nupur ko dena hai na...to main de doonga...kal waise bhi meri chutti hai....tum kyon pareshaan hoti ho maa??

MM( grinning): pakka??

M: haan maa pakka!!

MM: dekh khona nahi aur kharaab bhi mat karna....khaandaani hai...

M: maa tum chinta mat karo....(to himself) : main ise apne haathon se use pehna doonga( his eyes sparkling with mischief).....acchha ye box mujhe do aur jaao so jaao ja ke....

MM: theek hai beta gud nite!!

M: kissing her forehead...gud nite maa!!

she goes to sleep....

mayank took the payal in his hand and jumped on his bed with a jerk!!

mayank lying on the bed facing the ceiling....and his hands stretched out in front of his eyes...holding the payal....he was continously looking at it with a cute mishief in his eyes....

M: ab kal nupur ko surprise karoonga!! bohot maza ayega...par (something struck his mind)....

and he jumped to the phone and dialed nupur's number(overwhelmed and excited)...

N: hello!

M: hii...kaisi ho???

N: oh mayank!! acchhi hoon....tum kaise ho??

M: bohot bura haal hai....

N: kyun kya hua???tumhari tabiyat to theek hai na??bukhaar to nahi hai na???tum kuch bol kyon nahi rahe ho??

M: tum bolne ka mauka do tab na....waise tabiyat to theek hai...wo kya hai na kitane time se tumhe dekha nahi na isliye thoda ajeeb sa lag raha tha...

N: itane time se kya matlab hai....aaj subah hi to mile the...(then in a bit louder tone)...mayank!!

M: accha sorry!!...kya kar rahi thi?

N: kuch nahi bore ho rahi thi isliye tv dekh rahi thi....

M: kyun baaki sab kahan gaye??

N: arre chachaji,uday bhaiya bauji ke paas morena gaye hain.....relatives se kuch kaam tha....gunjan so gayi hai.....aur dia fashion week ke liye london gayi hai....

M: haan....matlab aaj kal akeli ho???

N: humm...bas gunjan hai....

M: grrrr88!!

N: kya??

M: k..kuch nahi....tumhe dar lag raha hoga na...main aa jaaoon???

N: koi zaroorat nahi hai....mujhe koi darr warr nahi lag raha hai....

M: arre gussa kyon ho rahi ho'main to aise hi keh raha tha'

N: waise phone kaise kiya??kuch kaam tha kya??

M: nahi bas aise hi'tumse baat karne ka man kar raha tha...

nupur gets emotional...n doesn't say anything....

M: kya hua??

N: nahi kuch nahi...

M: acchha to main rakhoon?

N: haan theek hai...

M: gud nite..

N: gud nite..sweet dreams...

M: i love u nupur...

N: i love u too mayank...

M: bye..

N: bye...

they disconnect....mayank is too happy!!! but nupur is a bit puzzled at mayank's behaviour!!

N: ye mayank aise kyun baat kar raha tha??.....pata nahi....waise bhi mayank ko kaun samajh paya hai jo main samjhoongi....pata nhai kab kya karta hai!!

murmering like this she goes to sleep....

on the other hand mayank is very excited for the next day.....

sorry...not much mayur scenes in this one....but promise...next part has lots of mayur romance!!
