"I will take care of that ma'am." she agred with a smile but internally felt like slapping Anita. That girl really had an attitude problem! In the mean time Mukti was already out the door. "Kaka, Taniya ka ghar."
Jevan flinched unwantedly - Taniya ka ghar was the code word for Mukti's extra activities and he hated the fact that she was doing all this. Quietly he drove as Mukti began reading the file that was handed to her not wasting much time, Jevan quietly pulled over before going to the road and slid in one of Mukti's favorite C.D's. The song, Suna suna from Krishna cottage filled the car, she cointued reading the work placing her notes here and there as they drove. The songs changed and the time went on as he drove, half an hour latter just as she closed the file. Just as she stepped out in front of a morden apparment with a lawn and a parking space available for a few people. The entier building did not seem much more that two floors with a light shade of blue being painted on! The room it self had few chairs fixed to the ground with a table. Going up the stairs Mukti rang the bell, an elderdy lady in a dark mustard sari opened the door, "Kya vo ghar par hai?"
"Haan bitiya voh ghar par he hai aap andar jayie." she replied going inside, Mukti closed the door. The hall was set in a very simple mannor, set in a circular room with white furniture and custions of both red and yellow colours set alternatively. Curtains in yellow with red patterns hung in the room, most of the other furniture like tables though were in glass, a few decorative pieces in a see through colouring system. Mukti's eyes though did not take any of this in, there was only a pure sadness in them as though looking for lost memories in that place. This was indeed a special place for the girl, walking into another smaller room she waited. The only source of light in the room appart from the sunlight was a small lamp that was on the alter near the photo. A young man photograph was there with a garlend on it, a lady dressed in a cream sari that was pinned up on her shoulder. Her hair compleatly open, with out turning around she said, "Aao Mukti."
"Kaise hai aap bhabi?" she asked turning around look up with cold eyes and strong fetures, she wore no make up or jwellery except for a gold chain that had a dorlar in it. "Main kaise teek ho sakthi hoon jab vo mere saath nahi hai."
"Janthi hoon bhabhi, aur aap ko insaf milega, bahoth jaldi milega." Mukti promised, "Jo insaan Mrs. Anthara Druv Wadwa ke sindurr bujadiya Mukti Khanna kabhi nahi chold sakthi hai."
"Janthi hoon isiliye kehethi hoon yeah saab chod kar door chalija tu." she replied, "Muje jaane ka koi irada nahi hai. Main aap ko pehele bhi batha diya aur aab bhi kehethi hoon."
"Lekin Mukti, agar tume kuch hotha hai tho?" Mukti only smirked, "Aap apni is nalan ko nahi janthe hai babhi Aab tho aap dekie."
"Tumse behes karne main koi mathlab nahi hai, chal bolo, chai yeah coffee?" Anthara asked, "Mere liye aap ke haathon ke zeher bhi amruth hai, isma chai yeah coffee ka sawal kahan hai?"
"Chai banathi hoon hum donon ke liye, aur haan tumhare liye ek package aaya hai. Deklena!" Mukti nodded, "Kahan par hai?"
"Tumhari kamre main us draw main." Mukti went up to the room on the first floor right hand side, the room was comparitivly smaller than the Khanna house's. There was a single bed with a bed side table, dark rose silk sheets were spread on the cot. A set of light pink curtains on the wall, on the bed side table was a brown package. Opening it with a swize knife Mukti ripped the whole thing open, seeing the contents within she nodded, "Hello Rane maal mil gaya ithna waqth kyun lagaya tune?"
"Maaf kijiye madam ji, kya kare aaj kal vo police walon..." Mukti cut him off, "Tuje ek aur kaam hai muje tume information milega." she added, "Aare madam ji aap kahe aur humne na kaise kar sakthe hai. Hojayega!"
At the Khanna industries conference room, Dhilip was overlooking a presentation being made by an employee, "Aur agar hum apne is project main aur thode bhi paise dalthe hai tho hame koi profit nahi milega. Hume us pure project ko badalna padega. We need to shift it to a different location, aise location main hume ise badal dena chahie jisme yeah project appriciate hotha hai."
"Where do you sudgest Mr. Bose?" The man in the dark green suit pushed up his silver rimed glasses, "Sir I sudgest China, we have candidates qualified and willing to do this job rather than have people in India. We would also have to shift three projects from China to this team as they are better in the job. That would give us a profit of..."
"Excellent Mr. Bose kafi impressive presentation tha vo lekin agar aap apne cabin main retier hothe hai tho hume decition lene ka maunka milega."
"Ofcouse sir agar kuch chahiye tho muje bulaiye." he replied and left, a maturity beyond his years and great hope in his heart. Prithvi Bose he works in the Khanna industries as a project analist and one among the best even though he is not more than 25. He is very close to the Khanna family after his time with a conference when he was no older than 18 years of age. A conference Dhilip happened to attend, impressed with the boy he took him in his wing and now he was reeping the benifits. After the boy joined from a scolarship student who was living on the funds given to him for his dead aarmy officer father he became a very happy rich man! He was among the few 'friends' Mukti had that was known to Dhilip and Naina Khanna. A person who hated wasting time he began working through some other project when some one knocked the door, "Yeah come in!"
"Good morning Mr. Khanna." he looked up, "Aare bhabi?"
Anthara stood there a white handbag in her hand. "Haan, actually vo Mukti ke baare main."
"Vo sudarne ke bhare main sochegi bhi nahi aap use chod dijiye." he snapped, "Vo jo koi bhi hai mere pathi ka haath bhi hai usme, she is not to blame."
"Kya chahathe hai aap ke vo aise kaam karthi rahe?" he asked shocked, "Nahi kabhi nahi main kabhi nahi chahathi ke Mukti bhi isma involve hojay. Main tho ek anad ke thara jiliya phir aise jeena nahi chahathi, apni pathi ko tho kholiya, aab main apni badi beti ko bhi nahi kho sakti hoon."
"Aap Mukti ke liye apne dil main ithna bada position diya hai I'm glad lekin please use ek baar vo apne senses main aajaye." he replied, Anthara smiled after a long time, "Mukti aur senses ekhe sentance main? Kabhi nahi hoga, aap kya lenge coffee..."
"Nahi muje kai aur jaana hai aathe hue main tumse mile aayi thi." she replied taking leave, Prithvi hesitated for a moment but called her back, "Bhabi ek minute, kya aap kal free hai main aap ke saath iske bare main baath karna chahatha hoon."
"Sure lunch ke liye aaja na!" Anthara left from the office, Prithvi sat down and wrote down in his agenda, "Lagtha hai phir se ek baar dil se sochn padega."
That evening, a sea side beach had a large party going on, a party by Rajesh Sharma a new enterprunar in the world of .com bussiness. Rajesh being the dynamic today's guy calls both the 'younger' members of the Bajaj pariwar and the Khanna pariwar. Mukti being a party animal at times agreed to go knowing she was safe as there were too many people in the party and it was a Page 3 coverage. Prem who was Rajeh's cosin was forced to come, Kuki would never let him enjoy full extent in these parties as she was slightly protective... the room was filled with so much - music, food, lights and people. The soft sand was under them making dancing more fun! Prem was standing by the juice bar trying his best to convince a girl in a cute short pink dress that she did indeed look good. "Kuki tu bahar tho aana, deko sari ladkiyaa ise bhi short kapde nahi pehene hue hai."
"Lekin Yudi tume patha hai na ke yeah kapde muje..." he cut her off, "Nahi aaj koi bahana nahi hai, I really want you to fit in with our generation. Come."
Slowly taking Prem's hand Kuki walked up to the light where manny boys did take a second look at her! Prem gripped her wrists affectionately as if saying, "Main hoon na." nodding she slowly started moving and socialising a little bit more when she caught the eye of the host, "Kuki? Kuki bajaj o my god you look so hot!"
Kuki blushed red, she always had feelings for Rajesh but he did not even consider her as a friend as she was quiet plane. This was the first time he was giving her so much attention and she was enjoying every moment of it, seeing he won't be missed Prem quietly stepped out of there. He was on the way to get a drink when a voice told him, "I won't leave my sister with Rajesh if I were you."
Prem turned around to find a girl dressed in a yellow and red stripped, mid thigh length, sleaveless dress with a v-cut looking very beautyful. Her hair was left open with light curls, a gold bracelet in her hand and yellow sandals. She was holding a glass in her hand with some drink in her hand, Prem smiled, "I know, lekin my sister is quiet fond of him isiliye."
"Lekin he is quiet the casanova type of guys you know." he replied, "Are how rude of me main tho apne aap ko introduce bhi nahi kiya."
"Uske koi zarurath nahi hai, aap Mr. Prem Yudi Sharma hai." the girl made Prem raise his eye brow, "Aap muje janthe kaise?"
Raising her glass and gulping the rest of the drink down she smiled, "Aap ko ek yeah do parties main deki hoon, we have more common friends than Rajesh."
"Really, I don't know how I missed a girl like you, naam kya hai aap ka?" she smiled streching her hand, "Mukti Khanna."
Prem's smile widented as he took her hand, "The Mukti Khanna, mathalon quiz ke champion?"
"The very same!" she laughed, "Vo Mukti Khana jo sare Tejas Higher Secondry ke ladkon ko basket ball main haradethi hai?"
"Ji haan." she replied, nither of them made a move to remove the joned hands, "Am I speeking to the Mukti Khanna science wizz?"
"Haan baba haan." she replied, "Vo Mukti Khanna jisne apne mere upar tandi pani phain diya jab use main moti kehemar pukara."
"Kafi achi memory hai aap ko Mr. Sharma, peheli muje pehechante nahi lekin jaise naam suna tho pure ke pure biography ko tho aap ne bol diya."
"Aare yaar seriously tum kithne badal gayi ho, chalo you've got to have a drink with me." he took her to the bar and both of them ordered some drinks. Mukti her grape juice and Prem his beer. "So suddenly you have turned quiet beautyful kya vo paanch saal hai? Since the last time we met?"
"Haan hoga, us waqth main tho kafi mooti thi." he teased, "Aur aab?"
"Aab tum ek aise ladki ho jo na sirf normal lagthi hai balki hot bhi lagthi hai." he replied, "Thank you and yes you look very good tonight."
"Mukti tum tho bilkul badal gayi, confident ho, apne kyal rakne lagi ho aur haan thoda sha sharab bhi pine lagi ho." he added, "Tumne note kiya ke main sharab pine lagi hoon?"
"Haan baba maine note kiya, light hai isi liye chup tha." he replied placing a hand on her's, a pair of green eyes noted the moment. An eyebrow got raised...
