Part one:The Orphan
Mumbai was the city of beauty, paries and late night lives that people enjoyed. There were also people who faced pain, among them was one girl. The girl who was always ignored by her family but recogonized by her friends and teachers. She had stayed all her school life in hostel, there she made friends, developed into the woman she was today... one side the studious student who got good marks. Mostly the first ranker... she worked hard because the studies where a position for her to actually perform and win... this is her story. This is the story of the girl who was an orphan with no one to reach towards her lfie. She had just finnished her final year of school and awaited her results, thus she was at her 'house' Khanna mansion. Well she was suppose to, this evening though she was bussy outside the place with some friends. In a remote hill area there was a small but beautyful temple of ma Durga, the evening maha aarthi was going on... among them was a girl dressed in a bright green chudidar with dark green duppata and bottom. The duppata was draped over her head like a ghungat, her hands had matching green bangles... bright ones in the middle with dark ones on either side. She had her eyes closed when praying, her lips that were done with light lip-gloss and light make-up on her face highlighting her features. Opening her eyes dark eyes shone with a personality and internal strength that reflected the flame of the aarthi that the pandit healed in front of her. "Beti aarthi lelo."
"Ji..." she replied taking the aarthi and took the prashad that was handed to her as well with great respect then went to the tualsi plant, "Hai tulsi miya saab kehethe hai ke aap bagwan vishnu ke pyare hai aur lakshmi devi ke roop hai. Meri raksha karna miya aur muje shakthi dijiye ke main apne zindagi main jo dard hai use toot na jaaun."
She came out to a waiting car and got in, she had taken one of her aunts spare cars (the one that was practically at her disposal) and told the driver to start. Just then her mobile rang, "Hello?"
"Good morning Ms. Mukti Khanna." Mukti smiled at the greeting, "Good morning Mrs. Shalaka Bones kahiye."
[Shalaka is the house in charge of the Khanna mansion, she takes care of everything in the mansion and other personal events etc. of the Khanna pariwar.]
"I hope aap ko mandir main kafi achi dharshan mili." she enquiered, "Ji kaafi achi darshan mili aur main bas ghar lautrahi hoon."
"Teek hai, aap ke liye kya order karun breakfast ke liye?" she asked taking her note, "French toast, fresh friuts, juice and a cup of tea sounds good. Aur haan main apni brakefast aaj apni balcony main lelungi."
"Sure ma'am... aur kuch?" she asked, "Thanks but that's it for now."
The driver drove up to the entance and stopped next to the watter fountain where Mukti got off going into the grand house. There were two people dressed in proffestional clothes reading the newspaper, the woman in light grey sut with a black shirt and the man in a brown sute with a white and brown checked shirt. He was going slightly bold but still had strong features and an air of a leader, the master and mistress of the house, Dhillip and Naina Khanna. Naina looked up when Mukti walked into the room but Dhilip did not even move his eyes from the paper. Seeing she was going to just pick her newspaper up and leave Naina decided to stop for a few moments, "Good morning Mukti."
"Good morning." she replied politly but slightly uncomfertable, "Beta tum apne brakefast kahan par le rahi ho?"
"Ji apne balcony main, aap ko disturb nahi karungi." she added hesitently, "Nahi aaj tum mere saath pool ke paas kaogi muje tumse kuch baath karni thi."
"Ji, can I be excused?" she asked, "Ek aur baath hai beta, maine tumhare liye ek gift liy tha kaal."
"Gift?" she sounded confused, "Haan beata shayad tume yaad nahi hai lekin tume apne group ke best student award mila hai. Kal mail aaya hame, tumne nahi deka?"
"Nahi actually main... muje nahi patha tha ke aap ko bhi patha hai." she stumbled, "Tumhari school se hame e-mail aaya. Aur yeah lo tumhari gift."
Naina pulled out something out of her briefcase and gave it to Mukti, suprised she opened the gift carefuly, inside it was a digital camera. "Thank you bahoth achi hai."
"Your welcome, aab jao change karke aao brakefast in fifteen." she patted Mukti on the head and told her to run along. Just as Mukti got on the stairs she bumped into a lady dressed in a blue skirt.
