Part three

Rajveer stood in front of the window wrapped only in a towel. The morning bugle had rung and it was time for all the cadets to wake up. He had just come back from the shower and just stood in front of the window, feeling the morning breeze touch his bare wet skin. All night he had been restless since he kept dreaming about Naina and her effervescent beauty.

Now as he looked out into the sky he could find Naina's smiling face and her sparkling eyes.

He fell back on his bed and he stared at the ceiling dreamily

Yudi just entered after being to the bathroom and Rajveer went up to him really hyper, scaring him.

"Tab se deewaana hua, sab se begaana huwa

He hugged Yudi and danced around with him thinking he is Naina

"Jab se tere naina mere naino se laage re"

Yudi got annoyed and pushed him off and Rajveer came back in his senses and just began lauhging like a clown at his own stupidity.

As he got ready he kept imagining Naina everywhere and then he looked in the mirror and saw her face and got lost in her sweet smile

He put his hand out and was surprised to find Naina's hand in his and he pulled her tight against him

He kept getting closer to her

He pushed her out and pulled her in again

His dream broke when an outraged Yudi pushed him away yet once again. He couldn't imagine himself that close to a guy and felt really uncomfortable and started doubting Rajveer's sexual orientation. Rajveer realised his mistake and just left before Yudi asked him any questions.

He became busy in his drill where they were carrying heavy sacks from one place to another and Major Nair was in a cruel mood that morning since it was raining. Rajveer was right ahead as he was one of the best cadets around but that day his heart was simply not with him and midway he saw Naina finishing off her drill so he halted and dropped the sack on the floor and kept staring at her.

"Ho jabse hui hai tujhse shararat

Tab se gaya hai chain o karaar"

Naina noticed him and also just gave him a shy smile and carried on with her drill giggling along with her friends. They all knew after last night what was happening between these two. He forgot everything else and kept staring at her.

The others caught up but Yudi didn't see the sack Rajveer had thrown on the ground and he tripped and fell over. Alekh also came and stumbled over Yudi and he also fell and this series continued with the rest. They all were irritated with Rajveer but he left from there and went to join Naina without looking anywhere else. He went to her and grabbed hold of her.

"Jab se tujhe paaya

Yeh jiya dhak, dhak bhaage re"

He did the pushing out and pulling in dance with her and she was afraid of getting caught and tried warning him but he was just too much lost to understand anything.

"Tab se deewaana hua, sab se begaana huwa

Rab bhi deewana laage re oye oye"

She got a chance when he had closed his eyes to slip away and now he stood there alone. When he opened his eyes he saw Naina standing right next to him and he went up closer to her and cupped her face in his palms.

"Rab bhi deewaana laage re ho hoooooo"

He kept going closer and closer to her as if he was going to kiss her

"Jabse tere naina mere naino se laage re"

He got a severe push and he was susprised that Naina had become so rough. But then the shock he got was too much to take and he felt as if the sky fell upon him.

"CADET SHEKHAWAT!" it was Major Nair who had been standing in front of him all this time and he had mistaken him as Naina. "What do you think you're doing?" he was really disappointed to find Rajveer messing around in his drill time.

"Um…sir…I mean…um…" he gulped as he lost all his words looking at the monstrous man's face. Then he began cursing himself that if he did imagine Naina then how did he find her in this mucchar Nair and all of a sudden he felt sick. He just had to think and before he knew it he puked all over Nair's face which shocked him even further.

Nair wirped off the muck and began snarling which scared Rajveer too much and he knew that now he was done for.

He certainly was as five minutes later he found himself hung upside down from a tree. His legs were tied up with a rope and the branch he hung from looked really insecure and he could even hear it creak.

"Cadet Shekhawat you'll be under this ulti dunya punishment until the evening you understand that?"

"Yes sir…" Rajveer spoke weakly as he kept checking the branch which was near snapping.

"I didn't hear that." Nair yelled at him.

"YES SIR!" he yelled so loudly that the whole campus heard his voice and Nair was nearly thrown off his feet but he recovered.

"You have any doubts cadet?" before leaving Nair asked Rajveer again.

"Yes sir I do." Rajveer turned his eyes back at Nair's feet as that's what he could see hung upside down. "Sir I think this branch won't be able to take my weight."

"That's the whole trick." Nair came up closer to Rajveer, "this tree is a momentum which I'm sure you're well aware of. Yaha pe kaafi kai cadets kee qabar khode chukee hai or wo bhi issee tarha…tum samajh rahe ho na." Rajveer became scared again and Nair pushed Rajveer back to make him swing against the branch. He chuckled evilly and left and Rajveer kept dreading about the branch snapping and he wanted to stop himself from swinging but he couldn't.

As nair was leaving he ordered all the other cadets to leave too as they were dismissed. Alekh and Yudi still stood there and Rajveer called out to them.

"Hey guys come on atleast you help me out here." He pleaded with desperate need as he tried to stop himself from swinging.

Yudi marched over aggitated, "help you? No ways RV. I fell into a mud patch because of you I mean saale agar tu thak gaya tha to raaste ke beecho beecho bistar lagaane kee kya zaroorat thi?" Yudi was on the verge of strangling Rajveer but Alekh came and stopped him.

"Chal chore ise Yudi." Alekh gave Rajveer a sympathetic look, "wese bhi yeh to thori dair me apne aap pohoch ne hee waala hai.." he pointed towards the sky and Rajveer panicked further. "Tu apne haath gande mat kar. Chal." He began taking Yudi away with him.

"Abhe kis kisam ke dost ho tum?" Rajveer yelled after them, "apne dost ko aise maut ke mooh me daal ke jaarahe ho?" he saw that they still didnt stop and turn back. "Alekh…are tu to mera bhai hai. Are you going to leave your dear brother like this?" Alekh as usual was less affected by this as he knew Rajveer was just a one number nautanki. Rajveer was really disappointed. "Yudi stop atleast you stop. Dekh Yudi, tujhe meree dosti ka waasta ruk jaa."

Yudi stopped at that and he felt really bad but Alekh told him not to pay attention and Yudi remembered he was angry at him and continued walking.

Seeing Yudi didn't stop Rajveer began singing this song, "Dost, dost na raha. Pyaar, pyaar na raha," he shedded crocodile tears as he knew Yudi would melt, "zindagee hame tera aitbaar na raha aitbaar na raha." He continued singing that song and Yudi couldn't take it anymore and he turned around towards Rajveer dramatically.

"RV, mere dost." And he ran with his arms out in a proper dramatic way as if he was running towards his lover. He reached Rajveer and just hugged him still with him hung upside down. "I'm sorry my friend but I forgot for a while what you mean to me."

Alekh just shook his head and came to separate the two guys. "Ab honi ko koun taal sakta hai Yudi." He also spoke pretending to be really remorseful. "We all have to leave one day to ab iska bhi waqt aagaya hai."

"Abhe saale Alekh tu mera bhai hai ke dushman. Mujhe maarne pe hee tula huwa hai." Rajveer was irritated with him now.

"Didn't you hear what Nair just said? Whoever is put on this tree goes only one place…" Alekh once again pointed towards the sky and then he pulled Yudi off Rajveer. "We must leave him to his dwelling."

"RV I'm going to miss you." Yudi had become too hysterical now and he didn't want to leave Rajveer.

This was ridiculous and Rajveer knew it, "Yudi I'm not going anywhere."

"You promise na." he kept crying like a kid.

"Yes I'm not going to die. Trust me." Rajveer tried to smile but he knew the branch would snap anytime and he might be history. He wanted to stop swinging but that wasn't stopping either.

Alekh managed to take Yudi away but he kept looking back at Rajveer and crying dramatically. "You won't leave me na RV?"

"I won't Yudi."

"Are you sure you'll be alright?"

"Of course," Rajveer was on the verge of screaming as he was hanging from a tree which was going to snap and the fool was asking if he was going to be alright, "I'm just hanging around here as if I'm on a vacation." He spoke sarcastically and Yudi cried further.

"I'm really going to miss you RV." Alekh was also annoyed with Yudi now and pulled him along with him before he created a pool of his tears. He spoke under his breath, "nautanki saala." And then he dragged Yudi away.

Rajveer was left disappointed as his friends just desserted him and now he just waited for his doom.

Back inside the campus Naina was passing by the mess and she heard some girl cadets coming out. "It's so sad, poor RV he didn't deserve this."

The other girl answered her, "Yeh this shouldn't have happened. Poor RV I hope he'll be alright." Then the girls left and Naina wondered what they were talking about.

She entered the mess and got some food and then she was looking for a place to sit when she heard her brother calling her over so she went towards his group. "Hi bhaiya." And she sat down opposite him.

"So how was your day today?" Navin asked as he kept a record of her everyday activities and made sure she was comfortable here and if she wasn't then he would make sure she would be. She just told him it was alright and continued eating her food when she heard some more girls gossiping on the nearby table.

"I just hope he is fine. It's so unfrotunate for RV to land in this." The girl sounded too upset.

The girl who answered sounded equally upset, "I know it shouldn't have happened. I hope he'll be fine."

Now Naina really wanted to know what happened to Rajveer and she looked towards Navin.

"Are kuch nahi wo saale Rajveer ko ulti dunya ki saza kya milgayee pura ka pura KMA sog mana raha hai. I tell you that utter looser deserved it and still people are feeling sorry for him. Mere bus me hota na to me to os pair ko kaat hee deta taake wo sach me osse gir ke marjaaye." Navin squeezed an orange he held in his hands with anger and all the juice splurted out.

"Bhaiya, what are you doing?" most of the juice splurted on her and she was annoyed, "You made my uniform dirty. Now I'll have to go and change." She stood up and left in an annoyed mood. That was just an excuse as she wanted to go and see Rajveer and make sure he was alright.

Outside Rajveer had tried many attempsts to try and swing hard enough to reach the branch but he had failed so many times and now was out of breath. The branch had snapped half way and now he tried steadying himself so that it doesn't snap altogether.

Naina caught up with Pooja and then both of them came running out and when Naina saw the state her heart ached to see him in that position. She began running towards him. "RAJ! RAJ!"

He was surprised to hear someone calling his name and he looked here and there but he couldn't find anybody's feet. He thought he was imagining it. Then he heard it again.

"RAJ! RAJ!"

Now Rajveer looked upwards to the sky and made a sad scared face. "Bhagwaan aap mujhe itnee jaldi lene aagaye? Please I don't want to die. Please leave me."

"RAJ! RAJ!" Naina was desperately running towards him.

Then Rajveer heard carefully and he realised it was a woman's voice and then a light breeze hit his face and he could smell this familiar fragrance in the air. Then his heart began thumping really hard and he heard the "DING DONG". Then he heard soft tunes playing in his ears.

"Naina?" he spoke dreamily and then he saw two pair of legs running towards him and he recognised them alright. "Naina you finally came." He got really excited and put his arms out calling her in them and with excitement he jumped giving the branch an extra jolt which he didn't realise. Before he knew it the branch snapped and he fell on the ground with a loud THUD!

"Raj!" she shrieked as she saw him fall and finally reached the tree but was horrified to find him lying on the ground with his head buried in the dirt. "Raj, are you alright?"

He stirred a bit and groaned as he pressed onto his face as it hurt. Then he raised his head midway and looked around in surprise. Then he saw Naina in front of him and he began laughing insanely. "Bachgaya." He kept looking at her and then at the tree above and just continued laughing. "Bachgaya"

It scared Naina as she thought his brain got affected by the fall. To her horror he stood up and began dancing around like a clown which made her worried further.

"Bachgaya, bachgaya sada munda bachgaya." He was really thrilled to know that he didn't die by falling off and just kept rejoicing like a mad man. "Bachgaya, bachgaya. sada munda bachgaya. Hehehehe bachgaya, bachgaya sada munda bachgaya." Just then another branch fell from the tree and landed on his head. He was stunned for a few seconds "nopes I was wrong." and then he fell onto the ground again and passed out.

Naina quickly went to his side to bring him back but he was out. Then she told Pooja that they had to take him to the infirmary and Pooja exclaimed that how were they to carry this heavy oaf. Naina said both of them will manage and she took hold of him from his top and told Pooja to take hold of him by his feet but it was impossible as he didn't budge.

"Oi Naina ise uthaane ke liye to hame crane bulaana parega." Pooja spoke as she wiped off the sweat off her forehead.

"Come on Pooja we can do it." And she tried lifting Rajveer again and Pooja also took hold of his feet and this time they managed to carry him. Both of them struggled a lot but finally they reached the infirmary. So many times they had managed to drag Rajveer giving him so many cuts and bruises but they managed alright. But by the time they did reach, instead of only admitting him they ended up admitting themselves along with him as they had lost all their energy. They simply collapsed on the floor and the doctor was just alarmed.

By the end of the day Rajveer recovered and he left the infirmary. By then Naina and pooja had already left so he couldn't meet her. The doctor told him what happened and he just kept laughing as it had been quite comical. He searched for Naina but he couldn't find her and then he wondered if she would be in the mess so he went there. She wasn't there but his good for nothing friends surely were waiting for him there.

"Aaye, aaye, maharaj. Thank God you're alright." Alekh slapped Rajveer on his back and he groaned as his back still pained. "Dekha bhagwaan bhi tujhse chirgaye or tujhe waapis dharti pe daal diya."

"Very funny." Rajveer sat down next to Yudi, "saale Alekh tujhe to me chorunga nahi."

"Abhe pehle mujhe pakar ke to dikha." On purpose Alekh instigated Rajveer as he knew he won't be able to do anything.

Rajveer was going to answer back when he heard a group laughing out loud. "Guys did you hear, someone thought they were too tough but couldn't even handle a single punishment. Behosh hee hogaya wo to." It was Navin with his friends who, was just waiting for an oppurtunity to taunt Rajveer. "Or maze kee baat suno ke ose pata koun legaya infirmary," he couldn't control his laughter, "do larkiya." The entire group burst out laughing as they found it too hillarious. Navin was having a ball. "Tch…tch…tch…" he looked towards Rajveer, "pata nahi kaha kaha se log bharti hojaate hai army me. I tell you, you need to be a real man to come in the army not a weak sensitive looser."

It enraged Alekh and he clutched his fists tight but Rajveer warned him and told him to just take it easy.

"Come on, he is just doing it on purpose and you know why. Just ignore him." Rajveer managed to calm Alekh down and they were back to having their tea and coffee.

But Navin was just not going to leave the golden oppurtunity and he began singing with his friends, "Ellu tellu, tellu ellu…"

His friends joined in, "yeh tellu tellu kya hai, tellu tellu?"

Then Navin stood up and pointed towards Rajveer, "tellu ka matlab wo ullu, wo ullu." They all laughed, "jab larne se koi darrta hai…ellu tellu, ellu tellu." They continued teasing him and just made a racket.

Subedaar Suri came and told them to quieten down and stop making a rukus around here. He had become tired of this constant competiton and it was just making the whole academy mad. Nearly everyday Navin and Rajveer got into an argument or a brawl and it just disrupted the discipline of KMA. BC had many times given them warning and Rajveer being the good obdient lamb he was had agreed to behave but Navin just said yes for the sake of it. He didn't mean a word and as soon as they had left BC's office he was back to his old tricks.

Alekh couldn't take this anymore and he stood up to go and give an answer but Rajveer held him back. "Leave me Raj; I'm not going to spare this scum anymore."

"No Alekh we can't." Rajveer had always learnt never to attack beforehand and only do it for defense. Here Navin was only verbally abusing him and he didn't see any use of violence in that.

"Ha sahi me beta Alekh apne baap kee baat maanjaa." One of Navin's friends mocked him and the group just continued laughing.

"Abhe saale tujhe to abhi dikhaata hu," Alekh pushed away his chair and was going to charge on him but Rajveer held onto him again. "What is this Raj ha? Why are you so afraid of these guys?"

"I'm not afraid." He thought of an excuse, "I…I just…"

"He just insulted you that you're not a man."

"He didn't say that Alekh." Rajveer began recalling on what exactly Navin had said.

"Yes he did. He just told you that you're not even a man aur tu ek eng bang aira tera hai."

"Kya osne yeh kaha?" anger was rising on Rajveer's face, "yah kaha osne? How dare he." He was too sensitive about him being a man and it hurt his ego badly if anybody insulted that. "How dare he."

"Wahi to me kehraha hu. Come on Raj jaake dikha de ose ke tu kitna mard hai. Jaa batade ose." Alekh instigated Rajveer to the most so he would go and teach Navin a lesson.

Rajveer got an adrenaline rush and he was about to march towards Navin but he stopped midway and returned back. "Yaar aaj me ose zaroor jawaab deta per kya hai that my back is really hurting." And saying that he went and sat down again.

"Jaanta tha tujhse kuch nahi hoga, phattu saala." Alekh sat down completely disappointed.

"puk puk puk chicken…puk puk chicken." Navin continued making fun of Rajveer.

This was not done at all and Rajveer kept thinking of a way to get back at him but in a more civil way. He smiled as an evil plan came in his mind and he gathered his group in together and relayed to them what he had in mind and they all gave each other evil grins. Now Navin was certainly going to pay.
