So, Mayank and Nupur were on their seats as Professor Desai arrived. She started with her lecture. And before she cud say something everybody put down their heads so tht they are not noticed. She was full of surprises, you know!
Prof: heads up everyone! i have an imp announcement to make...
Nupur lks here and there in the class, almost confused. Everyone put their heads up.
Prof: ok, so since it is the first day of our class, we are not going to have any lectures *but before the students cud take any sigh of relief and relax* we will have a short debate on human rights. hows that? *she smiles wiping her glasses with the cloth* so whose ready to come, yes you mr.smartie *she pointed at mayank* u represent the boys. and who will represent the girls? *again all of them start hiding their faces, but nupur has no clue about it, she saw the whole class heads down* nevermind! *prof desai grumbles and finally saw nupur's head up* ok so want to participate?! thats very good, come on come ...
N: err... me ma'am ... no .. i mean ok ...
Prof: yes come on .. i forgot to give the class your introduction. Come on get up from ur seat...
Nupur finally gets up and faces riya as if saying now what ?! riya just wishes her all the best with her thumbs up. Little scared, nupur faces the whole class. Prof desai gives the class her introduction.
Prof: Students, this is Nupur Bhushan. She has been studying in London and will be doing her last year with us. Ok , so back to our topic. We are going to discuss about the pros and cons of 'human rights'. Mayank you will discuss on pros and Nupur you speak about the cons.
Nupur was shocked since she knew that it was a bit difficult to defeat someone by speaking about the cons of human right. Anyway, the debate started.
M: Well ma'am, human beings are, by their nature and birth, possessed of certain inalienable claims which must be respected by everyone, no matter what the circumstance.
N: well, so does animals have the same "rights" by virtue of their nature and birth of what you are speaking? *she gets a little confident on the basis of background she had* why shud everyone have a right just because they are born. this claim seems to be based on ur own judgement.
M: Why not, i have heard london and US are very prompt in giving animals their full rights.
N: Then you have heard wrong! India provides with basic animals rights too, but if you see on an average animals are still not provided with the same rights as humans. *she answers back in a jiffy and mayank was taken aback*
The whole class was silent listening to them, prof desai was enjoying their arguments too, she carefully listenend to mayanks next point as she pushes her specs up.
M: Well, it is the simple sharing of a common humanity that leads to human rights. We know how we feel about things and we know how we want to be able to live.
N: Aah! so you see human rights as a matter of "feelings" for humans. Isnt it just a wish list of ways you want to be treated in a way. A desire to be treated in a certain way doesn't give the right to be so treated.
Prof: Thats a very good point made Nupur Bhushan 👏 So do you want to say anything Mr.Smartie??
Mayank was silent as in what can he answer her ....
M: Ma'am a few minutes *his ego wont let him get defeated at the hands of a girl!*
Prof: Faster...you have only 1 minute... this is only a short informal debate.
Soon he speaks.
M: Miss Nupur, *Nupur lks up as she gets surprised when he calls her name* Human Rights is not a desire. It is the universal need for basic bodily security, for security in our possessions and relationships within society. This isn't just desirable but vital to our lives. Human rights are those things that rationally fix on these vital requirements. We all benefit from this security, from the strongest to the weakest man because of man's essential equality in the capacity to harm other men.
Nupur was dumb founded when mayank spoke so much ...Prof desai lks at Nupur
Prof: Your point ?
N: umm .. ma'am ...*but she cudnt say anything* sorry ma'am i give up!
All the boys start shouting yaay and start clapping and the girls go with 'booo' but Nupur was highly impressed with Mayank...She lked at him and smiles. Mayank had this mixed reaction on his face. She went near him and congratulates him. He thanks and she continues clapping with others.
Prof : ok so students, we ll continue with our lectures tomorrow. it was a pleasure having a debate with both of you , now u both may go to ur seats.
They both go to their seats but Nupur keeps lking at mayank. Riya is busy packing her back when nupur asks her.
N: Riya, whose he , whats his name.
Riya is least bothered to know who is Nupur asking about.
Riya: Who? *she questions while putting her pen inside and combing her hair*
N: The one who was in the debate.
Riya: oh he is mayank... Mr. Smartie. he is well known as that .. spcl by Prof desai.
N: Mayank😳

Later in the canteen Samrat is sitting with his friends, face frowned.
Mohit: Whats up dude, koi mar gaya kya?
S: Shut up! dont eat my brain!
Hiten: arey then tell na whats the problem... jab se yahan baithe ho kuch keh hi nahi rahe ...
S: Arey woh actually ....*but he stops and gets up from his seat, slams the table* NOTHING!!
Hiiten: *lks at mohit* ab isko kya hua??

Mayank and Gunjan reach home. Their mom opens the door.
Mayank&Gunjan's Mom = MGsM
MGsM: Hello Mayank, hello gunjan.
M & G: Hello
MGsM: why r u both late?
M: why?! when u get late then ....
As usual this wud lead into a fight therefore their mom didnt speak any word. and mom knew tht whatever bad feelings mayank had for them was only bcos of gunjan though for them she was a princess.
MGsM: ok i m sorry ...
M: say sorry to gunji ...
MGsM: ok sorry gunji..
G: ok come on bhaiyya .. .now leave all this ... all i need in this world is YOU! ?Let mom and dad have theiir fun ...
*mayanks lks at her with his annoyed face, but he cannot remain with it for a long time, neither for more than a second when he has gunjis face in front of him, therefore soon he smiles.*
G: btw, mamma, where had you been ..
MGsM: i was at my friend Susan's house. her daughter Lucy is your age. they r so lucky... their daughter is going to london for her further studies. They also have a son name Peter.
G: thats kool ..... so she will be doing two years all over there...
MGsM: yeah and maybe more ...
*Mayank was not happy to hear that*
M: but that doesnt mean you send Gunji to study over there..... i know ur intentions mom!
MGsM: errr ... i never said that ... *she got stuck in her own hole*
