Remember Qazi? The co-winner of the immensely successful Fame Gurukul? While his comrade-in-arms Ruprekha has shifted base to Mumbai and is concentrating on a singing career, the lad from Kashmir appears to be going the Amit Tandon way. If the grapevine is to be believed, Qazi has signed a couple of films. Does this mean adieu to crooning? "Not really," says a source close to Qazi. "He will sing, but only for himself in his films." Quite a statement from a newcomer, one must say!
Matinee mayhem

Sony's Nai Dopahar hasn't quite turned out the way it was expected to. Not only did Star Plus continue to rule the prime slots in the afternoon, none of Sony's serials (Rishton Ki Dor and Kabhie To Nazar Milao) could strike a chord with viewers despite their best efforts. If the grapevine is to be believed, they are even planning to abruptly end both serials that were launched with a lot of fanfare. If this happens, it could be quite a loss of face for Sony -- this was one of their biggest launches in the recent past involving stars like Urvashi Dholakia and Anuj Saxena. Well, you lose some to gain some! Apoorva AgnihotriJhalak Dikhlaja is already scoring a number of brownie points over Star's Nach Baliye this time.
The return of Armaan Sir
For those missing Armaan Sir of Jassi (aka Apoorva Agnihotri), the wait will soon be over. Apoorva is all set to rock the small screen again with his new serial, Kajaal. Paired opposite the pretty Surveen Chawla, he plays the role of Dev Karan Singh, a rich, spoiled brat with a very sad history. "Armaan Sir was a larger than life character and I received a number of offers, but this appealed to me most because it is so realistic," the actor says. But why such a long break? An extended honeymoon? "I needed a big break. You can't imagine what a tough time I had during Jassi," says the chocolate hero. <>
Prerna at it again

Prerna (aka Shweta Tiwari) is not one to give up. She tried her luck in Hindi films earlier, but none were successful. Now, she is giving the big screen another shot ' but with a Bhojpuri film. Titled Hamar Sainya Hindustani, the muhurat of the film took place at a posh Mumbai club last Sunday. Shweta is paired opposite Ravi Kishan in the film that will be directed by Mohanji Prasad, and produced by Raja Chaudhary, Nandvani and Rajiv Singh. Could this be the hit Shweta was waiting for all along?

My Thoughts.!!!!!

Qazi he is a very honest and also a dedicated individual, his determination brought him where he is today, Qazi Tauqeer Is Hardly A Singer he always wanted to be an actor. The music show on Sony called Fame Gurukul gave him the opportunity to fulfill his dream. The guy received many brickbats ranging from he can't sing to he is the poor man's version of Hritik Roshan.

I like to look at the bigger picture. A young guy from Kashmir comes to Mumbai with dreams in his eyes and those dreams get fulfilled. You would say- no big deal. I think it's a big deal because this generation of Kashmir's has seen nothing but violence and killing.

Decades back, Kashmir was the jewel of Indian crown. And it was said that if there is heaven on earth, then it is here. Ironically the situation has become if there is hell on earth, it is here. Where once Hindi movies were shot, there are no movie halls in Srinagar anymore. They have all closed down. Where you could hear the music once, you only hear bullet shots. So if a young lad from the strife torn region of this country comes out the shadow of guns to pursue music or acting I see hope.

I heartily congratulate Qazi and feel inexpressibly happy for him and accordingly for the Kashmiri people. We all are happy and excited for him, to see a Kashmiri but Qazi is a talented young man who is proud of his Kashmiri roots and does not let it deter him from his aims in life.

Peace to you all and Keep the Faith!
