FJ not so famous or popular...

...in a commercial sense.

If you look (objectively) at the success of the top 4 contestants from II 1 or SRGMP challenge (top 3) it becomes self evident that they have done far better and have become far more sought after than FJ.

Abhijit, Rahul, Prajakta (the exception being Amit Sana who just doesn't have a very good stage presence) have gone to UK, Africa, Middle East (among others) for concerts. Infact, Abhijit will be performing around the world with Vinit and Hemani in UK, US and middle east.

Now compare this to FJ. They have had a few concerts in Bangladesh and perhaps in the middle east and Africa. They are not sought after and there is no "buzz" about them. I don't anticipate anybody would sponsor them for a concert tour in the west (where the big money is).

Additionally, all these other contestants have sung for hindi movies (yes, each and everyone of them). To the best of my knowledge (and I'm not 100% sure about this) neither RR or Qazi have been offered songs for Hindi films.

Based on all this data, one can deduce that FJ was and will remain far less successful than the winners of other like contests.

About the post written above,yes that can be one way of looking at it.But I being a qazi-rupu-rex fan have a different perspective on it.
I think that although qazi trio has performed only in India and BD uptill now they were solely their own shows.The people bought the tickets to thes shows just to see them.I would rather have them perform in their own shows than see them tag along with the big Bollywood stars like akshay kumar,Preity,rani,kareena SRK.
It is true that teh SRGMP singers r performing in these shows along with the Bollywood stars but do u think for a min any person would be buying the tickets to these shows when those mega stars r there.They will definitely be a fringe benefit to the audience but they won't be the stars of the show.They will be there just as fillers singing while the audience is waiting impatiently for their favorite Bollywoodstar to come out.If anyone needs a break in the show when do u think they r going to take it 😆 while one of these SRGMP singers is performing.
I am not insulting these singers but this is a fact which happens when u r tagging along with SRK,ur own identity is lost.
I hope that Zee will have enough confidence in these singers and will organise their own shows where they will be the stars like sony did for the top 3 of FG where people go just for them.
It has been said that don't plant a sapling under a big tree otherwise it won't blossom and Zee is planting its sapling under giant trees.And what happened to Debujeet's album??
Any way that is my way of thinking and i know that people r going to make a lot of nasty comments on Qazi and Rupu but i don't carre and don't have anything more to say as long as sony has confidence on qazi that he can run the whole show with Rupu and Rex.

Just been busy with life (mostly work. Had been traveling for work as well) but had some time today and thought I'd chime in.

I agree with your point (to a small degree) but I think had these sponsors thought performers like RR and Quazi were worthy they would have approached them and don't think for a minute that these guys would have said no to big money and a chance to hang out with top rated movie stars. They would have jumped at the chance.

I was in Mumbai last week and was at a party where I met some people "in the know" from the music industry. They clearly stated that there is much more of a demand for Himani and Abhijit and Debojit and Nihira...Quazi and RR were not even an afterthought. They are not even considered as singers by these guys.

As for solo tours, Sony has promoted these guys (FJ) in places like Bangladesh because that's the only place they can go and have an audience. Top performers don't go to these places as there is not that much money in it for them. Abhijit and Rahul and Prajakta have gone on tours without big names to UK and Africa and Middle East and have been successful.

Honestly speaking if FJ goes to UK and US and Canada (without the big stars), they won't even be able to fill a high school auditorium let alone a big place. They just don't have that much fan following. If you talk to the man on the street and ask them who they rather see in concert (with the choices being Abhijit, Himani, Debojit, Nihira, Rahul..with comparison to FJ) I can guarantee you 75% would not chose FJ. It's just a fact of life. People in the west demand quality for their money. Heck, I was in US once and there was a concert with Daler Mehandi (when he was at his peak) and even that concert didn't sell out (and it had Shah Rukh Khan as a special guest who performed at the show). So your comparison is apples to oranges really.

Hi Arsi..u must be a HUGE Qazi fan...I hope for your sake (and for the sake of others like you) that he finds some measure of success in the industry. I have nothing against him..but I'm not a fan of his either.. I base my likes and dislikes on substance...not base it on smoke and mirrors.
