It's not a matter of talking about US or West in general. Your perspective is that of a Pakistani. Fair enough. In your country FG is more popular. I'm from Delhi and I can tell you that out here, FG is/was an afterthought. SRGMP was much more popular and with a larger demographic. FG was much more popular with the youth (school and college). Where as SRGMP is much more popular with serious music lovers and those who are somewhat educated in music. I believe FG attracted young viewers because of the novelty in their format. SRGMP attracts those whose focus is good singing.

For anybody who is going to be a singer/performer on an international platform, s/he better be a good singer first or be expected to have a very short career. Just being able to dance on stage won't cut it. For that they have film stars. For this reason, I predict that Qazi will not have a long career in the field. I believe he understands this and that is why he wants to focus on his acting career.

As for your point about "what's happening now"...well Abhijit is still quite popular (II 1 preceded FG). I've travelled to Asia, Europe, America and Canada after both II and FG finished and talked to those who have watched these shows (granted this is a small sample and in now way scientific) and by far the opinion has been that II 1 and SRGMP singers are superior.

In any field quality, education, skill and knowledge will help you succeed. Quazi fails on all these counts.

Well rolm the way u said qazi wont survivie long in the singing field..well all I hav to say is Qazi knows hes not a good singer...and how do u noe if hes concentrating on acting...do u hav any proof?...no offense to any ppl on de forum but summ people just make up stuff abt qazi acting dat doesnt u beleive it...and ya Qazi knows hes not the best singer on Earth and thats why hes soon starting to get trained by some proffesional guru for singing

Rolm i respect ur views....but u urself have said half of it that FG was popular amongst youngsters and teenagers and ppl who dont understand music while SRGMP is for serious music lovers. And by statistics youngsters, teenagers and ppl who dont understand music but like to listen and go to shows are 75% of the society whereas ppl understading music is 25%. So now u can urself calculate which one is more popular. 😆

And lastly Qazi till date has got highest number of votes in any reality show ever, so if others are so much popular why didnt ppl vote for them 😕

I'd be happy to answer your queries. First, youngers are fickle and don't stick to one favorite too long. I'm willing to wager that if there was a contest between Qazi and let's say Debojit, Debojit would win. And to your second point, Qazi is NOT the highest vote getter ever. It's Debojit. Qazi didn't even garner more votes than the 4 leading candidate in SRGMP. You can verify this if you like. If you count the total number of votes that Quazi got and compared them to what Himani got, Himani woudl outnumber quazi by many lacs.

Quazi was a fad last year. He's not that popular anymore in India. I know because I live here and I do have a fairly good idea about what's going on.

With so many reality shows cropping up these days not only youngsters every one will have newer favorites.......let 2006 SRGMP come up ppl the Debojit thing will go away too. And 2 ppl got a show abroad and others didnt is not scale to judge popularity.

AS fast as number of votes, i meant overall county vote not Assam votes😆. tomorow if i got to SRGMP and my parents and frnds are rich enuff i swear I will get highest number of votes from WB😆. Qazi got votes from every corner of the country not Kashmir.

And fyi i stay in India too so whoz popular and whoz not even i have a wee bit of idea.

About the post written above,yes that can be one way of looking at it.But I being a qazi-rupu-rex fan have a different perspective on it.
I think that although qazi trio has performed only in India and BD uptill now they were solely their own shows.The people bought the tickets to thes shows just to see them.I would rather have them perform in their own shows than see them tag along with the big Bollywood stars like akshay kumar,Preity,rani,kareena SRK.
It is true that teh SRGMP singers r performing in these shows along with the Bollywood stars but do u think for a min any person would be buying the tickets to these shows when those mega stars r there.They will definitely be a fringe benefit to the audience but they won't be the stars of the show.They will be there just as fillers singing while the audience is waiting impatiently for their favorite Bollywoodstar to come out.If anyone needs a break in the show when do u think they r going to take it 😆 while one of these SRGMP singers is performing.
I am not insulting these singers but this is a fact which happens when u r tagging along with SRK,ur own identity is lost.
I hope that Zee will have enough confidence in these singers and will organise their own shows where they will be the stars like sony did for the top 3 of FG where people go just for them.

Any way that is my way of thinking and i know that people r going to make a lot of nasty comments on Qazi and Rupu but i don't carre and don't have anything more to say as long as sony has confidence on qazi that he can run the whole show with Rupu and Rex.
