Ashne true, Baraati also get an invitation, but drupad would not have expected him to participate, no Kshatriya king would
I am not being casteist here. Just trying to understand why Karna always chose a wrong occasion to prove his valor. For eg after Arjun wins all the Kings attack him including Karna but the moment Arjun starts retaliation he walks away saying I'll not fight this foremost of Brahmans. When they attacked they knew he was a Brahman

During gandharva attack, gets defeated by chitrasen and runs away. During virat war gets defeated by Arjun

So basically except defeating Jarasanda in kalinga swayamvar and KK he didn't do anything much to earn any respect, except challenging Arjun in a sports arena and trying his luck at Draupadi swayamvar and bot places gets insulted. the places where his caste would not matter, but his valor only would earn him respect he failed

P.s. I am not Arjun fan and I am not comparing Karna with Arjun

Let me ask, what Dharma Krishna had on his side to question the integrity & righteousness of Karna, considering the bloody massacre Krishna did during Kahandava Dahana? He was ruthlessly slicing already dying animals & ethinc group people into blazing fire only to confirm their deaths! And I don't believe, Karna who was the master of tit for tat replies, whose tongue was sharper than swords, replied nothing at all, simply stood there listening that Aakash vani telecast. He would surely have mocked Krishna to death which was possibly what made Arjuna angry & shoot Karna. Killing Karna was a necessity for Krishna. Karna was not killed for anything he did in his life. Had it been otherwise, as Krishna indicated, why the maha dharmi Krishna did not kill Arjuna first?🤣

That is the only thing I cannot find a justifiable reason for - KP. I can explain the offer and even Ghato. But not KP.

I am going to Boloji tonight to post a question about this unless someone else wants to do it.

I want to know if ANY text states that the people at least were out of the forests before they started the fire.

But I maintain, war is no place for dharma debate. Karna had to be killed, one, because KK could not be won without it, two, because he was a threat to Yudhi's claim on throne.

BTW Jamy. Strongly consider my recommendation for next Vishukkani😆

Adishakthi, love your new DP. Also remember my book recomm

I understand what u r saying. But was there a rule that there were separate invitee list to participate and or watch the proceedings. Like u mentioned, what if one of the elderly kings wanted to participate, could Drupad have stopped him, or had the said person won, would Drupad refuse to conduct the marriage?

I'm assuming that any one invited were game to participate. Ofcourse, some choose not to participate for whatever reasons. Im curious, as to why Krishna's son's didn't participate. Were they asked not to participate (by krishna or someone else), to make way for Arjun?

That's another confusing thing about the SV scene. How in the world can Krishna have grown sons, able to participate when he was of an age with Arjun? I think Prads and Samba were in the invitees list as well.

Yes, they were. Im not sure about Samba, but Prads was a Maharathi, so quiet capable of participating.

Timelines r confusing.

Anu, since I don't believe in incarnations & am not considering that stuff, at least for some years for other reasons, I think I don't need a kani next year.😉 And first let us find a sensilbe reason behind why Krishna supported KK war - no theories, but citations & references. Then lets go to anything else.

Karna was a Baraati not the dulha

False, Karna was there as a potential dulha but it was upon the dulha's wish that if they want to compete.

"..Dhrishtadyumna said, 'Duryodhana, Durvisaha, Durmukha and Dushpradharshana, Vivinsati, Vikarna, Saha, and Duhsasana; Yuyutsu and Vayuvega and Bhimavegarava; Ugrayudha, Valaki, Kanakayu, and Virochana, Sukundala, Chitrasena, Suvarcha, and Kanakadhwaja; Nandaka, and Vahusali, and Tuhunda, and Vikata; these, O sister, and many other mighty sons of Dhritarashtra--all heroes--accompanied by Karna, have come for thy hand.."
