AFAIK, most of the kingdoms joined KK and perished, so what was the need to do Ashwamedha? There were no adult kings left to battle, Arjun, and those that were left were minors or Widows.

I have read that conducting Ashwamedha is for power, glory, sovereignty etc. Didn't they achieve all this thru KK already? Was this just to subjugate the kingdoms who didn't join KK?

manipur was one of the kingdoms which didn't took part in kurukshetra, i think.

Yes and Vidharba too. It's curious that manipur doesn't join the war, considering it's King was a Pandava progeny.

his curse did worked ...he cursed karna that he will forget the usage of weapon when he will require it the MOST ...so that happen ..in last attempt he forget how to use them .

Two things are possible with what happened after the war.
1. All major Kingdoms got desroyed, considering the description of war in the book. They all got united to forn Krishna's Dharma Rajya. That will question the sense of doing Ashwamedha afterwards.
2. The war was not so big & did not bring extreme destruction for Kingdoms except the nearest allies of KPs. Other Kingdoms did not take part in it as it was none of their business. No Dharma Rajya formed and most kingdoms worked the same way they had been working till then. Yudhishthira, who made the treasury of himself & HP (may be of Panchaala, Anga & Dwaraka also) did Ashwamedha so that he can accumulate wealth enough to run his country properly. Now this will tell us the description of KK war is a Himalayan exaggeration.

Actually that is what TV shows & novels tell. In original Mahabharata, Karna successfully used Brahmastra 3 times against Arjuna (or two?). But once he forgot. But he remembered it correctly last time. He forgot it while using for 3rd time, not last time, IIRC.
