Why did Draupadi react so much on ArSu marriage if she is Yudhishtir's wife?
And in turn that implies Drau's reason for fall during Swargarohan justified as being Yudhi's wife loving her bro-in-law is Umm...not quite right. I don't think Draupadi was someone like that.
Btw it is Yudhi who staked Drau so it is obvious she will lash out on Yudhi and blame him the most.
The unity part makes absolute no sense if Drau was only married on one of the Ps. What about lusting and unity?
The question is why would Draupadi NOT marry just Yudhishtir. I think at one point even Arjun suggests that and Drupad says to Krishna to marry Panchali to whoever he wants
That would explain the younger Ps inaction during DS
Actually SacredTexts website thinks that original MB ended with Ashwamedha. Most scholars consider Swargarohana an interpolation, so the question of Yudhi's statement does not even come up.
The thing is once you start interpolating, you have to add bits and pieces to justify it. I regard Panchali's statements as this. Some things just don't fit into the narrative of the story and this is one of them.
The unity question does not arise if she is only Mrs Yudhi. One expects the junior Ps had enough self control to not act on such impulsesš
