Anyways, what Jamy said makes sense though about Bheema being the one to win. That kinda explains why he is so vocal etc. during VH if we see it this way. Maybe Bheem cared for Panchaali alot.

The Boloji article does not just say he was helping his cousins. It says he wanted to put Yadavas in power. And implies that he got all of the others killed, including Panchali's sons for that purpose

Again from a non divine POV 1) how would he have known there would be war? In the beginning that is. I could not find anything in that article that suggested he engineered the DS and the assault. SO how could he have known it would come to that? 2) The Yadavas themselves did not support the Pandavas except for a few who were attached at the hip to them. In fact, the war got part of the Yadava sena killed 3) G may have promised Panchali war but the vehement insistence on it was Panchali's. Was Panchali somehow plotting to get her own family killed?

Helping his cousins - of course he was there to help his cousins. The question is for what purpose 1) social reformation 2) land 3) to help Ju 4) because of Yadava prosperity

1) which gets my vote, because honestly if Yadavas disagreed vehemently that Pandavas were right, then G was going against his own clan to help his cousins just for land? Ju did not want war, G talked him into it. What kind of help is this, talking a man into killing people for power he did not want to begin with? Ju's 2 sons got killed in that war. Ju ended up killing his own brother. I highly doubt this was the kind of help Ju wanted. And apparently the Yadaavas did not agree where their prosperity was and in fact fought for the other side

One more thing - the preface to the CE says there was a multiplicity of motives in the lead up to thewar. Some weer looking to get/maintain land and power and some for social reformation. I think G was looking for social reformation. Initially he was looking to maintain safety but after DS/VH things changed.

1)Of course he did not know there will be war in the beginning.His cousins had IP got their right full share of the kingdom everyone was ok with that .After Yudi lost IP and DS and all happened he thought his cousins had been wronged and hence helped them in getting back what was rightfully their's

He didnt want war to begin with himself.Like u said Udyoga parva itslef begins with Krishna ji just saying that they should send an envoy to Dury and ask him to return back pandavas kingdom since exile was over.Its Drupda and Virat who say that they must still begin war preparations

After Dury had rejected the proposal 2 times then Krishna ji knew war was inevitable yet he takes the peace proposal himself for Yudi's sake

2)Like i said it may not necessarily or only be for yadvas .It may also be for only his family.Since he helped pandavs in winning the war he must have thought he can get some favours from Yudi like additional lands kingdoms etc .But i feel a much more stronger reason was that he wanted to help his cousins whom he felt had been wronged.He wanted to help them get back what was rightfully their's

3)Yes panchali wanted war because she wanted justice but does she force her husbands to go on war or really insists on it or enforce the war in any way.No

She once tells Yudi that Kurus must be destroyed in Vana parva.She Yudi and Bhima have a long discussion and then Vyasa comes sides with Yudi and then panchali doesn't say anything more

Then in Udyoga parva when she again supports going for war pandavs by then had already sent two peace proposal.Panchali doesn't say or interfere in those matters in any way.She doesn't try to stop that.Only when for the third time they decide to send the peace proposal again does she again say what she truly feels and that she wants justice.

SO yes she wants war but she doesn't force her husbands to go for war.At end its Dury's rejection of peace proposal that leds to war if he hadn't rejected and given pandvas what they wanted i.e the 5 villages then no war would have happened

There is no reason for helping your family members.You help them because you love them and care for them.Same was with Krishna ji.How much he loved Arjuna we all know?He himself claims many times that no one means as much to him as Arjuna does.He really respects Yudi.They were wronged as per him and he wanted to help them.

Becuase Duryodhan had wronged her family much more than what Keechaka and Jaydratha had done

Kauravas hadn't only mistreated her but her entire family for a long time.In Kamyaka van she narrates all the wrongs she and her family had to face.So their crime was definitely greater
