@GredandForgeBefore coming to your very pertinent questions about Baldev and his character growth, I'd like to ask some questions in my turn.
First of all...Who is Veera?😃
What is her ambition in life? At least for Baldev, we knew that he wanted to become the Sarpanch. Ranvi became a singer (in three episodes!), but still, his passion for singing was fructified.
But Veera? What are her interests, apart from her encouraging her Veerji, singing the praises of Ratan and Ranvi, or pursuing herPapaji ka sapna?
Apparently she is a graduate and wanted to pursue her higher education abroad. Doesn't the self-denial of the opportunity bother her, not even for a second? 😲
Granted, she came to know about her family's poor financial health and what they did for her and willingly turned down her personal ambitions to do something in return. But doesn't that make her even a little bitter? 😕More importantly, doesn't she ever feel like an outsider in her family, whom she knows are not her blood relatives?😕
Doesn't she feel offended by Ratan's continued preference for her son who happens to be of her own blood? How her (perhaps)natural affection for her flesh and blood eclipses her professed 'love' for Veera, her proclaimed daughter, every time?
Yeah. So we have absolutely NO answers to these questions.🤢At least Baldev ko chodo, he is the female lead's romantic interest (which is what he has been relegated to being, he has no personal characteristics left whatsoever).
But what about the protagonist herself? For God's sake, the show is named Veera, it's eponymous and is supposed to show the emotional journeys and travails of the protagonist.
Veera herself has no character growth😡. At least Baldev was shown as softening and growing because of Veera's influence. But there has been no progress as far as Veera, the individual is concerned.

And now...coming to your very interesting questions about Baldev...Bang on post! ⭐️These are questions which have plagued me since this love-shove business took over.
I don't know about others, but if someone shot my childhood dream down mercilessly, if someone hampered an ambition that I cherished with all my heart from fructifying, I would never forgive them. NEVER.😳
But Baldev ne Veera ke eik lecture suni aur uska mann badal gaya. I am yet to figure out how exactly he forgot his Sarpanch dream. But yes, I buy very much the idea that he's always had a soft spot for Veera and couldn't bear to hurt her willingly (as evidenced by the sprain incident). I am convinced that he does care for her deeply, and that his heart loves her with all its might.😳
But the emotional conflicts that he might have experienced, the conflict between his head and his heart, were completely neglected. The heart wants what the heart wants, right? But how did Baldev start listening to his heart? Isn't he the one who said, Mardon ko pyaar nahin honnda?😲

So therein we have the root of all the problems.😃 Cutting a long story short...The moral is that the show's makers have completely invested their writing in depicting the love stories, but are utterly unconcerned about developing characters as individuals, showing them grow, depicting their idiosyncrasies, the changes in their psyches, etc,.🤢
It all began with Gunjan, who initially fascinated me so much because of the neglect she faced which made her the person she is. I still haven't figured out how the character took a 360 degree turn, or how Ranvi's love for her gave her some validation and a whole new start in terms of emotional fulfillment.
It began with Gunjan, and it continues with Veera and Baldev...As for Ranvi, he is the least developed among all, so not going to go there at all!!!🥱

PHEW!!! That marks the end of my rant.😊 Hope you had the patience to come to this:) If yes, I commend you heartily for your endurance. Thanks! And awesome post once again!⭐️
