Don't get me wrong, its not that I am not enjoying the scenes but there is still something missing.
VeeBa's love story has progressed well but the fact remains that there has been no character growth whatsoever. Or am I supposed to assume that he's changed?
Post leap, Baldev was called a grey-shaded character but with enough hints regarding his chemistry with Veera, it was obvious that he was going to fall for her which also meant that he was going to change. But did it really happen?
To sum it up, Baldev hated Veera then was under a delusion that she loved him after which he was heartbroken. Later on he went to plot against Veera's family in order to win the Sarpanch election. He continued to make troubles for Ratan but one rebuke from Veera and he changed his mind to help the ladies?
After all this, the focus shifted to their love story and only that. Is it really hard to show some character growth along with a love story? What am I to assume Baldev is now? What do I call him? Its such a confusing character. Is he to only remain as Veera's love interest?
Most importantly, how come Baldev loves Veera all of a sudden? When did the reality replace the illusion? As a viewer, is it too much to expect consistency in a script? To want a few more scenes which will connect the plot better? Agreed some things are better left unsaid but Baldev's realisation isn't so trivial nor is this sudden goodness. Or do we still have a "grey" Baldev hidden?
If only these questions were answered, I would have been a happier viewer.
No, this post wasn't made to disrupt the peace on the forum. I was unsatisfied from long but couldn't find time to make a post.
P.S: Is it just me or do some of you think Baldev looked better during his "wooing Veera" track? I miss those kurtas and jackets.
P.P.S: Can someone please go destroy all the copies of "Happy Shappy wala love". It keeps playing at inopportune moments.
