I know everybody is super excited about the Sarpanch track. So am I. But considering the track record of the CV's post leap , I am not getting my hopes too high, especially about the Baldev angle of the track.
With the current characterization of Baldev, I am quite skeptical about what would be made out of him. Baldev during the Mata Ki chowki days though had wrong ways of achieving goals, was a go getter who had an attitude that could help him win the Sarpanch title. I can understand Baldev initially agreeing to Bansuri's plan of pleasing Ranvi so as to make his chances more brighter in the elections. This is needed so that he understands his mother's true intentions and later falls out with her.
If this is how things will proceed I am okay with it. But I don't want Baldev to be made a fool who would side his mother, taking his current comical attitude into the elections. Winning or loosing is a different matter. I want him to give a tough fight to Ranvi. Basically I want the old Baldev back before the track commences.
Surjit Singh and Baldev's friendship was central to the Sarpanch track. I just hope the CV's bring him back. I was hoping Baldev would initially join hands with SS and SS would later back stab him. With his mother no longer by his side, he would be a lone warrior. I want him to work towards the Sarpanch title rather than sporting this laid back attitude which would be a complete character assassination of Baldev.
I am all for Baldev involving in the Sarpanch track if this proves to be a strengthening of Baldev otherwise I would prefer the track being an only 'Ranvi' track. Whether that will hold my interest or not is a different question.
Baldev is my favourtie character in the show and he is the favourite of many others too. So considering that I hope, the CV's don't make him look like a clown who is capable of nothing inorder to glorify some other elements/characters in the show.
P.S: Consider this as a frustration post or throwing caution to the winds. I just don't trust the CV's any more because of their not so creative tracks. Baldev's character is very important in holding the interest of many others like me, to this show. He is capable of supporting the entire track on his shoulders and making it a huge success. If the track gives him a main lead status, well and good. I hope the CV's would prove me wrong regarding the ignorance and second grade treatment to Baldev's character inspite of him being the most popular post leap.
