Part 5

Soon after Baldev left in a hurry after he and Veera were caught in a compromising position by Ranvi, Ranvi became all serious and turned to face Veera.

Ranvi: "Veera, sach sach bata. Kya tere aur Baldev ke beech kuch chal raha hai?"

Veera couldn't help but rush to respond.

Veera: "Nahin toh veerji! Main aur Baldev toh bas dost hai. Aap ko bhi pata hai na ki hum dono kitne alag hai. Main aur Baldev ek saath, kabhi nahin!"

Ranvi smiled, happy to hear that. That's what he had hoped to hear from Veera.

But on the inside, Veera was struggling with her growing romantic feelings for Baldev. She was yet to understand and figure out what her and Baldev's relationship was now. Based on the earlier incident, it was definitely more than friendship.

Later that night...

Ratan and Chaiji had come to know the truth from Ranvi about Gunjan having told Veera the truth about her biological mother. Both were equally upset with Gunjan. Veera had already had a heart to heart conversation with beeji and chaiji, as well as Ranvi letting them know that they were her real family, and no one could ever change that.

Since then, Ratan had been very cold towards Gunjan. These were the thoughts going through Gunjan's mind when she was busy chopping vegetables for dinner that night, along with thinking about Veera and Baldev's growing friendship.

Gunjan (thinking to herself): "Veera aur veerji ke beech kuch toh hai! Bas ek baar agar Ranvi ne un dono ko saath dekh liya, tab mera badla pura hoga Veera aur Ranvi se."

Gunjan was so deep in thought, that while chopping vegetables, she cut her finger with the knife.

Gunjan (screaming out in pain): "Hayyo rabba!"

Just then Ranvi came there; having heard and seen what happened and quickly put ice on Gunjan's cut finger.

Ranvi (very concerned): "Tenu theek tarah se kaam nahin aata? Dhyaan se kaam nahin kar sakti? Dekh, ab tujhe lag gayi na."

Ranvi, without realizing tended to Gunjan's wound, by holding her cut finger, and putting ointment on it. Gunjan noticed all this, and just for a bit, she felt something, a feeling of warmth and gratitude towards Ranvi.

Gunjan (thinking to herself): "Kyun Ranvi? Itna sab hone ke baad bhi tu mera khyaal kyun rakhtha hai?"

Gunjan moved her cut finger away from Ranvi in anger.

Gunjan: "Chod na Ranvi! Tenu kya lagta hai, ki tu yeh sab kar lega, aur main tenu maaf kardungi."

Ranvi couldn't help but roll his eyes in frustration.

Ranvi: "Ehsaan farhamosh! Tujhe chot lagi toh main kuch nahin kar sakta kya? Aur tu bhi sun, yeh shaadi maine tere liye nahin ki, bas tere papaji ke khatir ki."

Ranvi stormed out from there in anger.

Two days later...

Veera and Baldev hadn't really spoken to each other after that awkward moment that day.

Ratan: "Veera, kya tu kal subah Baldev ke saath paas wale pind ja sakti hai? Voh Sarpanchji ki school ke liye, kuch kagaz vakeel ko dene the. Balwant bhaisaab ne Baldev ko sab bata diya hai."

Veera: "Haan beeji! Main aur Baldev kal subah voh kaam kar denge."

Ratan (smiling): "Changa!"

Veera (thinking to herself): " Main aur Baldev akele ek saath? Voh bhi uss din ke baad? But, I'm sure voh ab uss din ko bhool gaya hoga, aur pehle ki tarah rahega!"

Veera smiled, when she thought of her fights with Baldev.

The next morning...

Baldev arrived at Veera's house in his jeep to pick her up. Veera smiled and got into Baldev's jeep. Just as they were about to leave, Baldev remembered the gift he had got for Veera that day, but couldn't give her after what happened.

Baldev: "Veera, yeh main tere liye laya hoon. Voh uss din main tenu nahin de paya na!"

Veera smiled. She was excited and curious to know what gift Baldev had given her. She opened the cute little box Baldev gave her. In it was a necklace, with half of the heart. When Veera first saw it, she was confused, but then it dawned on her what it was.

Baldev saw Veera's confused expression, and then her smile.

Baldev: "Voh aadha dil ka haar tera, aur doosra mera."

That's when Baldev showed the other half of the heart which he had worn around his neck, on a silver chain.

Veera: "Baldev, mainu pata hai ki yeh kya hai. Lekin tujhe pata hai na ki iska matlab ki hota hai?"

Baldev: "Arre haan, par maine hamari dosti ke liye yeh khareeda bas! Ab tu kuch aur mat soch! Main tujhse pyaar, vyaar nahin karta!"

Veera laughed. Baldev smiled hearing Veera's laugh. He noticed how her face glowed with happiness.

Veera: "Haan, haan, ab chal vakeel ke pas jaana hai na!"

Later that evening...

It was pouring rain in the evening. According to the radio, there had been a rain storm today, with continued heavy rain. Veera and Baldev were heading back to Pritampura after finishing their work with the lawyer. Veera could barely see anything clearly on the road, and was worried how Baldev would get them back home in time. That's why, both had parked somewhere, and were waiting until the rain would stop and plus, Baldev had forgotten to fill fuel in his jeep, which was now almost empty, so they couldn't reach Pritampura. Baldev had already called Jaggi and Balli and asked them to come help them as soon as possible.

Veera called home to let everyone know. Gunjan picked up the phone.

Veera: "Gunjan didi, iss baarish ki vajah se main aur Baldev der se ghar pahunchenge. Lekin Balli veerji aur Jaggi veerji abhi aate hi honge. Bas veerji nu mat kehna, varna voh pareshaan ho jayenge. Unhe bas keh dijiye ki main aur Baldev theek hai, aur bahut jald ghar pahunchenge."

Gunjan: "Theek hai Veera. Main Ranvi nu bata doongi."

Gunjan smiled. It was pouring rain outside, and her veerji and Veera were alone together. If Ranvi saw them together now, he would lose it completely.

The guy on the radio spoke: "Aaj sach mein pyaar ka mausam hai. Chaliye sunniye yeh pyaar bhara gaane."

"Tip, tip barsaa paani-2 paani ne aag lagaayi,

Aag lagi dil mein to dil ko teri yaad aayi,

Teri yaad aayi to jal uthaa mera bheega badan,

Ab tum hi batao sajan main kya karu."😳

Both Veera and Baldev blushed hearing the wordings of the song. They were alone together in Baldev's jeep both Veera and Baldev couldn't help but look at each other shyly.

Baldev tried to clear the sexual tension they were both feeling by joking about it.

Baldev: "Yeh radio wala bhi na! Kya kya gaane chala raha hai!"

Veera (trying to be all cool, and under control): "Haan, sach mein."

Seeing the droplets of rain, and how beautiful it looked, Veera who loved the rain, couldn't help but feel like going and playing in the rain, and thats exactly what she did.

Baldev: "Tu paagal ho gayi hai kya? Itni zor se bearish ho rahi hai. Tu bimaar ho jayegi."

But Veera didn't listen, and she got out of Baldev's jeep to play in the rain. At first, Baldev didn't get out of his jeep.

But, realizing that there was no point in him sitting all alone in his jeep, he got out of his jeep. He didn't mind the fact that he was now completely wet. He saw Veera enjoying herself in the rain. Baldev couldn't help but notice how beautiful she was looking.

He didn't know why but he couldn't stay away from Veera. As if he was being pulled towards her like a magnet. Veera didn't notice Baldev having come out of his jeep until he was standing just inches away from her, admiring her.

Veera smiled.

Veera: "Baldev, tu bhi itthe aa hi gaya."

Baldev didn't know what he was doing, or maybe he did. He reached out to touch Veera's cheek, and then gently touched Veera's lips with his thumb.

Veera couldn't help but feel a shiver run down her spine, feeling Baldev's touch. Veera looked at Baldev, and it was like time stood still.

Baldev inched closer to Veera, and before they both knew what was happening, Baldev got rid of the little space between them and began to kiss Veera.

Veera was taken by surprise at first, but it was like her body knew how she was actually feeling, and willingly gave in to Baldev's kiss.

Both Veera and Baldev kissed each other passionately, forgetting that they were out in the rain, and not in the privacy of Baldev's jeep. Anyone could see them there.

But they didn't care. All that rage, anger, and intensity of Baldev, Veera could feel it in Baldev's kiss. She continued kissing him back with just as much intensity. After all, Veera was Baldev's pind di sherni, and he was her sher.

Ranvi: "Veera!! Baldev!!! Chod de usse!!"

Baldev and Veera's world came crashing down. Their moment was gone. They quickly separated from each other, and turned to face an angry, furious Ranvi coming towards them.
