CHAPTER-2.

Veera was out of breath on hearing his condition..A few seconds of her shocked silence was followed by her turning rosy red,and squirming and pushing against him again..

"Baldeva..!Chaddh na mainu..Wo sab abhi nahi de sakti abhi main..

[Baldeva..!Let me go..I can't give those things now..]"She said breathlessly.

His face came closer,and his eyes were now twinkling with hidden mischief..

"Wo saab?!Wo saab ki hai..?!Mainu to sirf apni biwi ka pappiya chahiye!Dena Veera..?Kab tak aise tarsayegi mainu..?

[Those things?!What do you mean by Those things?!I just want my wife's kisses!Give me Veera..?How long will you make me suffer like this..?]He pleaded huskily..

"Haat kamina!Bara aya biwi bulane wala!Shaadi kaab huyi humari..?!

[Move scoundrel!Who are you to call me your wife!When did we get married..?!]"She hissed out mock angrily and tried to push him off..

"Tu to hamesha se hi meri biwi thi meri Bhootni..

[You were always my wife,my Bhootni..]"He said huskily,his lips almost touching hers..

"Baldev aab bauhot ho gaya!Aab jaa tu yaha se!Tainu koi dekh lega to..

[Baldev now it's too much!Now leave from here!If someone sees you here..]"Suddenly Baldev let her go and the door opened..

"Veera?!Who are you talking to..?!"

Gunjan's voice interrupted her,and Veera turned to face her with a caught look..

"Wo..Ummm..Gunjan didi.."Veera turned to look where Baldev had been standing seconds ago..

He was not there!She looked around..

He was nowhere to be seen..

How did he vanish so fast?!

In confusion she turned back to face Gunjan..

"Veera Veerji and all the guests are here..!Let's go down..The time for the wedding is running out..Come on..!"She urged her..

Slowly Veera was taken towards the mandap,where she could see Baldev wearing a sehra,and the same sherwani..

She frowned in confusion..

How could he be here so fast and without anyone noticing..?!

Slowly she was made to sit beside him in the mandap beside him..Her heart was beating very fast now,as the pandit started the wedding rituals.

Veera looked around for the one other person who mattered so much to her..

Her eyes scanned the crowd of onlookers..Her Chaiji,Beeji,Gunjan didi,Balwant taiji,Bansuri tayaji..And then as if the crowd parted to let him enter..He came.Her Veerji..

He smiled at her,and Veera smiled back..Her world had lighted up once again and was back on its axis..

Her Veerji came and stood just beside the mandap,where she could see him and feel reassured.

Just when she was relaxing,she felt His hand touching hers..

She was about to whirl around when a familiar voice hissed out..

"Don't turn!"

She did not turn..

"Just feel.."He whispered softly.

She closed her eyes and felt his fingers tenderly caressing hers..The crowd fading from her mind..Everyhting faded.Only the feel and touch of his rough hand against hers existed..

"Pappi ki bare mein yaad hai na tainu?

[You remember about the kiss don't you?]"His husky whisper made her open her eyes wide..

She slightly turned to look at him,and that was exactly when he slightly raised his sehra to look at her and winked..

Veera suddenly felt like laughing out loud..

He had been in her room!

It was not her imagination at all..!She sat with a silly expression,until his fingers squeezed hers and warned her to look normal.

Veera knew,as the wedding ceremony went on,that she was the luckiest girl on earth..Or maybe the only one to have her husband holding her hand almost during the whole wedding ritual..

Little did she know at that time,how wrong she was..

It was his wedding night..

With thudding heart he entered his bedroom..

No..It was not his bedroom only..Not anymore..It was their bedroom..His and his-..Veera's..

He still could not believe she was his finally..

Veera was his..!

He entered the room and turned to lock the door..

He turned to face the flower decorated bed..She sat perfectly still with her long veil pulled down to cover her face..

With his heart beating fast he walked upto her..

She did not move..He was actually pretty amazed to see her sitting so still..!

How could she sit so still?!This was Veera?!The ever talkative,the ever moving,the ever trouble maker of Pritampura - Veera..!How could she be so still..?!!

With a puzzled frown he sat down beside her..

Minutes ticked by and finally he gathered the courage to..

"Veera..?Tu thik to hai na..?

[Veera..?Are you alright..?]"He asked softly..

No response came..

"Tainu pata hai ki..?Mainu iss din ka kinne dino se intezaar tha..?

[Do you know..?For how long I have been waiting for this day..?]"He asked softly,as his hand touched hers..

Strangely she was not reacting at all..

Now he was getting worried..

He turned to pick her veil and look at her face..

What he saw stunned him to stillness..

Veera stared back at him with an odd expression and burning eyes..

"Veera..?Tainu ki hoya-..

[Veera..?What happened to-..]"

"Kiu Baldeva..?Tainu to abb khush hona chahiye..

[Why Baldeva..?You should be happy now..]"She said in a strange voice.

"Mainu kuch samajh nai aya Veera-..

[I am not getting anything Veera-..]"He asked frowning in confusion.

"Achcha?To mainu hi bata na parega tainu?Ki mainu tujhse kinni zyada nafrat hai..!

[Really?So I have to tell you?That how much I loathe you..!]"

A shocked silence fell across the room at her words..
