PROLOGUE:-
Thunder split open the dark night sky,as she ran on..
Her naked feet crushing wet leaves and twigs of the forest floor..Her hair open and flying in the air,only blocking her vision from time to time..
Heavy rain drops were hindering her flight too.Out of breath and panting she ran on..
Behind her she could hear his footsteps..With wide scared eyes,she turned back to take a look..
Her heart almost burst out in fear,as she noticed he was almost near her now..
She tried to run as fast as she could,but it was not fast enough..
Thorns,sharp stones and twigs cut open her naked sole,but she was unaware of every pain..Gasping and panting she tried to run faster..Her bloody footprints being washed by the pouring rain..But she knew she was failing..Anytime now,she would be caught by him now..
Twice she almost slipped,but managed to pick herself up hastily and ran..Her short kurta had torn at places,and blood oozed from her scratches..But the only feeling she could register was intense fear..
SNAP!!!
She tripped on a thick tree root,and fell on a carpet of twigs,brambles and wet leaves..
The rain increased in intensity,nearly blurring her vision now,as she turned to face her approaching tormentor..
Gasping,she tried to crawl away from him,but strangely her limbs seemed to be paralyzed all of a sudden..
Rain poured down her scared pale face,as she helplessly sat and stared up with wide terrified eyes at the approaching dark shadow..
His face hidden by the dark cloak,but his huge physique clearly visible from the outline of the cloak..
Thunder light lighted up the sky..And that split second was enough for her to see that long slick blood soaked knife,he was slowly raising and approaching her..
Another thunder light,and she saw he was just looming over her,with the long knife raised to strike..
A soft whimper escaped her lips,and then..
"VEERAKHDI!!!Abb uth ja jaldi!
[VEERAKHDI!!!Wake up quickly now!]"Ranvi's voice made her gasp and wake up with a start..
She quickly wiped away the drops of sweat off her face..
Fresh sunlight,and chirping of the birds welcomed her,as if to reassure her everything was alright..
"VEERJI!Don't worry I'm awake and will get ready fast..!"She called out,as she ran to freshen up..
Veera was dressed,and ready to leave her room,but something made her turn,unlock her almira and take out the red book..
With a sigh she sat on the table,and picked up the pen..
Sometimes things just happen..
Sometimes things are forced to happen..
Sometimes,no matter how hard you try things will not happen..
And sometimes you have to work heart and soul to make it happen..
I don't know what happened for me..
But dear diary,
I'll be Mrs. Veera Baldev Singh today..
