Chapter 2

Gayartri arrived at her house . Nobody was awake .

G. ( in her mind ) hai bhagwan ka shukra hai , koi jaaga nahi abhi tak.

And she ran to her room , where she found geeta sleeping instead of her.

G. Are uth ! Subha ho gayi bhaag !

And geeta woke up .

Geeta. Haan ! Shaadi ho gayi ? Sab theek tha ? Kisi ne dekha toh nahi ?

G. Sab theek hua aur kisi nahi dekha , ab ti bhaag !( she said taking her blanket off her )

And geeta went from there .gayatri went for a shower and came out . She took a red box and took off her mangalsutra , keeping it in the box .

G. Yeh mein tab hi pehenu gi jab hamare ghar wale humein manzoor karenge .

And with wet eyes , she placed the box in her cupboard.

Ramu was out in the market because raj mata sent him there . He had ranas letter with him. He saw geeta in the market .

R. Geeta ji , ye khat aap gayatri bitiya ko dedije ga , sahab ne diya hai .

G. Thik hai .

And geeta gave the letter to gayatri when she came to meet her at lunch . Gayatri went to her room after the lunch and closed the door . She opemed the letter and read it . Her eyes became wet after reading it . But she didnt let a tear drop.

G. Agar hum abhi royenge , toh... Toh ... Aane wali Mushkilon ka samna kaise karungi .

And she wiped her wet eyes .

Days passed , but only she knew how much of pain she had to go through , without hearing a news of her husband. She used to wear and sleep with his coat , the one he wore when he saved her life and gave it to her. Half of her nights were sleepless , and the rest , she could fall asleep only because she was extremely tired .

After two weeks ...

At night , gayatri was standing near her window slightly resting her head on tje side of the window, lost in ranajis thoughts : Where was he , was he alright, etc. She was wearing a blue saree amd floral blouse . In the room , only two lamps were switched on . Suddenly it started to rain . Heavily . Even the power cut and gayatri ran to light the candles .

When she lit one long candle she saw Rana ji , their faces were iluminated by the candle light .

Gayatri forwarded her hand to touch his face but he wasnt there. and gayatri looked around , nonody was there .

g. ( in her mind ) woh yaha kaise hongein...

She proceeded to light the candles which were on a small cupboard... and when she was lightening them... few strands of her curly hair fell on her face ... and ranaji tucked them behind her ear, and placed a kiss on her cheek . when gayatri turned to see him , he wasnt there .

g. ( to herself ) rana ji yaha nahi hain gayatri , rana ji yaha nahi hain . !

Lightening the candles , hot wax which was melting from the candle fell on her hand

g. auch!!!

and rana ji jeld her hand gently , softly blowing in her hand and removing that wax from there . After that , he softly kissed the burnt skin where that wax had fallen . Those lips felt like someone put ice on her burnt skin.

but she realized , he wasnt there. And removed that wax from her hand .

Main Hi Main Ab Tumhaare Khayaalon Mein Hoon

Main Javaabon Mein Hoon, Main Sawalon Mein Hoon

g. yeh mujhe kya ho raha hai ? main... main... jala toh moom batiyaan rahi hoon , par khayaaloon mein unki khoyi huyi hoon. Unki itni yaad mujhe kabhi nahi aayi , aaj , pata nahu kyu , unje dekhne ko dil machal raha hai .

Main Tumhaare Har Ek Khwaab Mein Hoon Basaa

Main Tumhaari Nazar Ke Ujaalon Mein Hoon

she goes to her bed and sits there .

g.( with tears in her eyes ) rana ji ... aap .. ap itna samein kyu laga raha rahein hai ... ( and she sees him sitting right in front of her )

Rana wipes her tears but they werent stopping . So , he leaned forward and kissed the tears on her face , reaching her eyes , and finally , kisses each one of her eyes.

Dekhti Ho Mujhe Dekhti Ho Jahaan

But she notices , no one was there.

Rama ji reached the gaav at night . But didnt go to his palace , but rana stopped at gayatris house. All these days he had passed thinking of her, he was desperately wanting to meet her . Rana ji entered gayatris house main gate. The rain slowed down a bit .

r. ( In his mind ) aa toh gaya , par ab main gayatri ko kaise dhoonduga ? kaunsa kamra hoga uska ? darvaze se andar ja nahi sakta ..

Everybody was sleeping and there was no light in their rooms . Rana noticed this . H e decided check around the haveli .

R.( In his mind ) par ...agay woh so rahi hai toh ?

Gayatri walked towards the wimdow to enjoy the rainy night . And stood in front of it .

Then rana ji reached the back side of the haveli , where he saw gayatri , a slight smile drew on his face . And he shouted ( but not that loud )

R. Gayatri ! gayatri !

Gayatri looked down , she saw him,a wide smile appeared on her face but

g. nahi ! yeh sirf aur sirf mera khayaal hai , woh yaha nahi hai !

And she turned around to go away ...

R . ( , surprised )gayatri ! gayatri hum yahan hsi ! gayatri !

And gayatri realized that he was there for real .

And turned back.

G . aap yahan kya kar rahe hain ?

R . humein tumse milna tha

G acha ... aap darwaaze ki taraf jayiye ..mai darwaaza khol ti hoon.
