Gauri walk in the house follow by ragahv and sammy. She was upset that raghav medal into their affairs. Sighing she walk upstairs. By the time she cane down it was dinner.
Kalpi was in the kitchen heating up the dishes. Paki happen to be their as well. She purposely made the hot pot slip and it hit kalpi leg. Kalpi cried in pain. When paki heard gauri and Sammy voice, she fell and scream.
Kalpi glare at her " do you want to die" she says
" what are you going to do" she replied, but quickly change her tone when gauri came.
" what happen here?"
" kalpi, wasn't paying attention and made the pot fall, it burns" she says blowing on her hand.
Kalpi holding her leg, scoff " of course a dog will bark when he/she sees his owner"
Gauri and sammy attends to paki fake injury while scolding kalpi for being careless. Raghav enters and observe the scene. He look at kalpi holding her knee while trying not to cry , and paki being attend too. He walk away and came back with a cool pack. Than he went to kalpi and bend down to wrap the cool pack on the burn.
" what are you doing Raghav?" Gauri says looking at him
" i'm helping my wife"
" dont you see your sister in law is in pain"
Raghav without stopping his work chuckles " really? How exactly did her hand get burn unless she touched it. From the looks of it, i dont see any burn like my wife has right now."
Kalpi stares at Raghav with gratitude. Sammy scoff at him " theirs no point talking to him. "
Raghav look up at kalpi " are you alright? "
" hmm" she says
He got up " well i will take my leave"
Few minute later...
The family sat down. Gauri asks for the cook and paki decides to fill her in. Gauri was furious, they watch a struggling kalpi walk in with the dishes. She open each of them, gauri asks kalpi why she sent the maids and cook home.
" i was trying to surprise everyone. as the bahu, i wanted to make a home cooked meal by myself with out help. So i ask for everyone favorite dish and made it myself, she beamed.
Gauri says " they work for me...i am the only one to send them home. I pay for them, so you have no right to dismiss them."
" i apologize"
Gauri fumming calms down. " whats done is done, lets just eat"
Kalpi sits at the table from earlier. And watch the family taking a bit from her food. Suddenly, she heard a big clang, gauri quickly asks for water. " not only did you relieve the cook, you ruin dinner"
" what?"
Gauri grab another water to drink, along the family " i cant eat this...only a dog can find this edible"
Kalpi grumble in her head, before trying it. She stop feeling the pepper getting go her. " hhow is this possible, when i tasted it earlier it was good."
Paki smirk, i told you to watch your back didn't i, she thought. Sammy watching his wife, shook his head. He got up refusing to eat the food, so did his father. Gauri push the plate away and with paki got up. She tells kalpi to clean up her mess now. Paki says " if you knew you couldn't cook why bother"
Kalpi got up, her knee hurting. She recall what happened earlier and realize paki tempered with her food. She cursed paki, promising to get her back. Sighing , she starts to pick up the plates and take it to the kitchen. When she came back for raghavs plate, he stops her hand.
" leave it" he says
" why, its spicy "
" you made this on your first day, i wouldn't be a good husband if i didn't eat what you made, even though its not good."
she stare at him eating, and he told her to sit if she's going to watch him all day. When she did sit, he looked at her leg. He noticed his face was getting sweaty, kalpi quickly ran to the kitchen and brought him cold water to drink.
She told him he can stop eating, but he told her to be quiet and finished his food. His so stubborn, why would he eat it. He could have just left it their, she says heart drumming.
When Raghav cough she grab the water to give it to him to drink. he drinks it all while making eye contact. She surprise him by using her sari to wipe his forehead.
While near, Raghav could smell her shampoo from earlier. He kinda like it. He pulls her near while she was standing and lift her up " what are yo-"
" i can tell your leg is paining you, i'm taking you to the room "
" but what about the dishes?"
" the mai-" he stop when realize she sent them home " i will do it"
Kalpi objects to it but Raghav ignores her. When they arrived, he puts her on the bed. " thank you" she says
" for what?"
" for being concern
He walk away and closed the door. While at the door, he blushed. He recall her smiling face, and took a deep breath. He told his heart to stop beating, he says he barely know the girl. When he said this he had a flash back, of him in a room dancing with someone.
It was soon revealed to be kalpi. ." How can that happen if i was in a comma?" He questioned confused. " i should go back an asked her" he says but stop his hand from moving, " no, she might find me crazy" he says
Turning to go downstairs. " it was probably a dream anyway" he says
