Chapter 28 (Last Chapter)

As time passed Raghav's true love helped Kalpana remove all her bitter past, her pain from her life. She was living her life fully. Raghav was always there to fulfill all her small and big wishes. After visiting Delhi, his parents' house, he took Kalpana for world tour. After returning from the tour both got themselves busy with the Orphanage. Sometimes they would help other workers in painting and decorating rooms. One day seeing the progress Kalpana said, "Raghav ji, if it goes like this then I am sure it won't take that long."

Rag: haa. Kalpana, I am planning to give Mrs. Maria the in charge of this orphanage. What do you think?"

Kal: I was also thinking the same.

Rag: Then lets go and talk to Mrs. Maria.

Hearing the news Mrs. Maria was so happy and agreed to work for Kalpana Anath Ashram'.

Kal: Maria aunty, I have one more request.

Maria: ha, tell me

Kal: can you take all the kids along with you?

Maria: I was also thinking the same as these kids were not getting any facilities staying here in this orphanage.

Ragahv and Kalpana thanked Maria as they got so much relief.

In the evening

Once they reached home, Kalpana fell asleep because of the whole tiring day. Raghav didn't want to disturb her and went to do some work in his laptop. After a while Kalpana jerked up from her sleep. She was breathing heavily. Seeing Ragahv was not beside her, she directly went to the office room. "Kalpana, you woke up?" Ragahv asked. Without responding to him, she walked toward him and sat on his lap cuddling herself. "Kalpana, what happened?" Ragahv asked worried. "I had a bad dream," Kalpana said and added, "I saw few people wearing black dresses, coming to snatch me from you." Saying so she started sobbing into his arms. Ragahv hugged her tightly to assure her that no one will snatch her from him and it was just a dream. When she stopped crying, Ragahv lifted her in his arms and walked to the bedroom. Taking her in his arms, he laid down on the bed. Few minutes later Kalpana fell asleep but sleep was far away from Raghav's eyes.

Three weeks later

Gauri, Vikram, Nitu, Ramu kaka, Mrs. Maria, Sammy, Maya, Raghav, Kalpana were standing in front of Kalpana Anath Ashram'. Lots of kids were behind them. "Finally the day came," hearing Kalpana Ragahv looked at her and Kalpana looked at him. "Thank you," she whispered. Raghav smiled. Handing over a scissor, Ragahv said, "Kalpana cut the ribbon and let the kids get in." as Kalpana cut the ribbon all the kids screamed at the same time, "Yayyy."

They were in the orphanage for the whole day enjoying watching kids playing in the park, swimming in the swimming pool and playing football. As Gauri stood beside Raghav, he looked at her and said, "Mom, I and Kalpana have 5000 children. Do you still want more grandchildren?" Gauri understood what he meant. She smiled and placed her hand on his shoulder while Kalpana looked at Gauri with sad eyes. "Sorry mom," Kalpana mumbled to herself, "I couldn't fulfill your wish." In the meantime Ramu kaka and Mrs. Maria came in. seeing the kids enjoying Mrs. Maria said, "Thank you Kalpana. Because of you kids are able to start living their lives like other kids or they would never get to know how beautiful life is." Kalpana smiled and said, "It is all because of Raghav ji. Without his support, I couldn't bring smile on their faces." Then Mrs. Maria thanked Raghav and assured him that she will take care of the orphanage well, as well as the kids. "Mrs. Maria, I have full faith on you," Ragahv said and added, "I already spoke to Ramu kaka. He will help you."

Kal: Ramu kaka?

Rag: hm. He will take care of the kids the way he took care of me and you.

Kal: if you get him involve in this then who will take care of you?

Placing his both hands on her shoulder, Ragahv said, "You," And added, "I will not give your place to anyone else. Looking at him, I wish I had that much time, Kalpana said in her mind. Suddenly Kalpana was feeling restless, her heart was paining. She wanted to go home leaving this crowded place.

Kal: Raghav ji, I want to go home.

Rag: Are you ok?

Kal: hm. I just need to take some rest.

Rag: Ok

Then Ragahv and Kalpana left the orphanage.

At home

After freshening up, Ragahv came out of the washroom. Seeing Kalpana was not in the bedroom he walked to the living room and then kitchen but she was not seeing anywhere. Then he directly went to the balcony and saw Kalpana was sitting there on the swing alone. "Kalpana, you, here and I was searching everywhere in the house?" hearing him, Kalpana said showing the place beside her on the swing, "Ragahv ji, come. Sit here." Ragahv sat beside her. Looking at the sky, Kalpana said, "isn't it so beautiful?" "Hm," Ragahv replied. Looking at the stars, I will be one of them soon, Kalpana thought and then looked at Ragahv and said in her mind, then you will see me from here. "Raghav ji," Kalpana said coldly and added, "What if the nightmare I had that day comes true," hearing her Ragahv looked at her. She continued, "What if someone comes and takes me..?" It was difficult for Kalpana to talk anymore. She looked at Ragahv who was looking at her with rage of pain, anger along with tear filled into eyes. Ragahv knew that in reality Kalpana has to leave him one day but his heart was not ready to accept that truth. He shook his head not to say that again. The feeling of being special to someone, of being liked by someone made their heart overwhelmed with emotions. They were unable to control themselves anymore and tears started flowing from their eyes. Ragahv came close to her and kissed her to make her realize how much she meant to him, how much he loved her and he wouldn't be able to live without her. That night both Ragahv and Kalpana were so emotional. They poured all their feelings, care, longings, love to each other into a love making. Their love making continued for hours until both of them were satisfied. There were whispers, but no clear words. That night had taught them they truly belonged to each other by body, mind and soul. It was not a mere physical urge but an emotional thirst they satisfied together that night.

In the midnight Ragahv's sleep got distracted for some reason. When he opened his eyes, he saw Kalpana was not there beside him. He got off from the bed and walked to the washroom. "Kalpana," Ragahv said while knocking on the door and added, "Why are you taking too long? Are you ok?" hearing him, Kalpana washed her face with water so that he couldn't see any change. "I am ok," saying so she came out of the washroom. Then they walked to the bed. Raghav laid beside her and pulled her into his arms. He started caressing her hair. After a while her body relaxed and then fell asleep.

The next morning

Ragahv woke up early in the morning. Seeing Kalpana sleeping peacefully beside him with a smile on her face, a smile appeared on his face. He bent toward her and kissed her forehead before leaving for freshening up. After few minutes he came out of the washroom wearing clothes for jogging.

One and half hour later, while jogging in the park, Ragahv wanted to call Kalpana to see if she woke up. He put his hand into his pocket. "I think I left the phone at home," he mumbled to himself. He decided to go home. He didn't bring car with him that's why he walked home. Once he reached home, he saw Ramu was pacing back and forth in front of the house worried. "Kaka, what are you doing here?" hearing Raghav, Ramu turned to see Ragahv. "Ragahv baba, where have you been?" Ramu asked worried and added, "Do you know how many times I called you?"

Rag: Kaka, I left my phone at home. What happened?

Ramu: Lets go to the hospital

Rag: Hospital? Why?

Ramu: Ragahv baba, vo Kalpana...

Hearing the name of Kalpana, Ragahv took step back and tried to balance himself.

In the hospital

Gauri, Vikram, Nitu were standing at the corridor and was watching doctor Shethi was checking Kalpana up through the window. In the meantime Raghav ran toward them and Ramu was following him behind. Ragahv looked where everyone was looking at. She looked at Kalpana who was laying on the bed covering her face with oxygen mask. In the mean time Dr. Shethi came out of the room. "Dr. Sahethi, how is my wife?" Dr. Shethi didn't say that much, but just said, "Wait for her to wake up. I gave her an injection to reduce the pain. She is sleeping now." Saying so he tapped Ragahv's shoulder and then left from there. Raghav slowly opened the door. He walked toward the bed. He sat on the bed beside Kalpana. Taking her hand in him, Raghav looked at Kalpana's face covered with oxygen mask. Seeing her in that state his heart ripped into million pieces. He couldn't see her in that state anymore.

Three hours passed, Raghav was still sitting at the same position numbly holding Kalpana's hand. His family members, friends came into the room and tried to talk to Ragahv but nothing was getting into his ears as all his focus was on Kalpana. In the afternoon, all of a sudden, Ragahv felt Kalpana moving her fingers. He came close to her to see if she woke up. When she didn't open her eyes, he said, "Kalpana, please wake up and talk to me. Look, I been waiting for you for a long time. Please talk to you." After sometime, Kalpana slowly opened her eyes. "Raghav ji," Kalpana said with a weak voice. Ragahv removed her mask to hear what she wanted to say clearly. "Please take me into your arms," hearing her, Raghav nodded with teary eyes. He held her arm to get her up. Both looked at each other. Pain and fear clearly visible into each other's eyes. Kalpana hugged him. He hugged her back with all his might. He hugged her afraid she might disappear or slipped out of arms if he left her. They were like this in each other's arms. They could hear each other's heartbeat. Few seconds later he found her loosened her grip as well as her heart beat. This heart will never beat for him again. A tear escaped from his eyes.

At night

It was 1 AM. Seeing Raghav entering into the house, Gauri walked toward him and said softly, "Raghav." without looking at her, he said, "Mom, I want to stay alone for some time." Gauri nodded and Ragahv left from there. Closing the bedroom lock, he came to the bed and laid down. Few minutes later he turned to the side where Kalpana used to sleep. He placed his hand there and slowly caressed. Then he looked at the pillow were Kalpana used to lay resting her head on. Taking it into his arms, he hugged it. He recalled his beautiful night with Kalpana last night. In one day how his life changed, he thought, her fragrance, her memories everything was there but she was not there. Kalpana left him for forever leaving him lonely. As he closed his eyes a tear escaped from his eyes.

The next day

Ragahv went to the office and called Lawyer to make a will. He donated all his properties to Kalpana Anath Ashram' and transferred all his shares as well. Sammy will run the company the way he had been doing and of the profits will directly go to the orphanage and he appointed Mr. Anil to take care of it. Sammy was present there at that time. He had a doubt. When he asked Ragahv the reason of this, Ragahv totally ignored him and left from there. Then Sammy thought to talk to Vikram and Gauri about it later.

In the evening

Raghav packed a small luggage with few of his clothes in it. Then he walked to the night stand and took the photo frame of his and Kalpana's picture in it. Taking it with him, he was about to go to the luggage, but he stopped as he saw something. He turned back and saw a piece of paper laying on the night stand. Taking the piece of paper he came to bed and sat on it. He opened it and seeing the hand writing, he mumbled to himself, "Kalpana's letter?" he started reading,

Today I would like say something to that person who came into my life as an angel, who was always there for me when I needed someone by my side, who showered me with so much love.

"Kalpana already knew about her illness," Ragahv mumbled to himself. After few seconds he read again,

I just want to say to that person that thank you. Thank you for coming into my life. You are the best gift God had gifted me. I love you and I will keep loving you after I die. I lived my whole life in these few months. Mujhey aur koi shikayet nahi hai life se. baas ek shikayet hai, next time I will ask God to give me few more days so that I could spend more time with you.

After reading this, Raghav smiled with teary eyes. He read again,

One more thing, don't feel lonely. When you will close your eyes, you will see me. You can feel me as I am always there in your heart and soul. Hum dono ek hai. Hum kaise alag ho sattey hai.

Raghav was sitting in a taxi laying his back with his eyes closed. "Sir, we are in front of "Kalpana Anath Ashram," hearing the taxi driver, Ragahv opened his eyes. he got out of the taxi and stood in front of the orphanage for a moment. Before he got into the taxi he looked back at the sign board Kalpana Anath Ashram' hanging on the gate to have a last glimpse and then left from there. Since then Ragahv disappeared. No one neither saw him nor knows where he went.
