CHAPTER 9
Next morning feeling better than she felt in a long time. The burden she is been carrying has been lifted. And she is no longer confused about what she wants and what she should do. She was little disappointed not to find Raghav next to her but she realized that he made her to sleep her in her bed and went back.
Kalpi decides to end the things. She doesn't want Prem to know before anyone can hurt him. So she decides to speak to Prem. A smile graces her lips as she moves out of bed to freshen up. She receives an text from Prem. He apologizes for his unexpected meeting and wont be able to meet her today. She is quite relieved by the messages as she has time to prepare for what she must do.
Her mind briefly ponders the scenarios of her breakup with prem thinking
A life with Raghav...
Kalpi builds up her courage to face Prem and the truth. With a bounce in her step she makes her way to the kitchen to prepare her coffee. The day passed by Kalpi's though.
The next day the mintunes feels like years as Kalpi waits for Prem to arrive. It is true, waiting is the hardest part. As we feel this line when we are eargly waiting for Ashna story updates
... Still Kalpi thinks and believes that everything will go smoothly. She pulled out from her thoughs again when she heared Prem calling her. Their eyes meet
Prem greets her with a bright smile. She smiles back despite what is about to do and to inflict. She knows it is for the best and there is no doubt about breaking Prem's heart. Once she broke Raghav's heart and now Prem's. While it will cause him unspeakable pain in the short term but they will be better later. And this is right as she doesn't want to spoil 3 lives altogather.
Prem moves forward to embrace her but Kalpi stops him with her hand against his chest. His joyous expression turns to an confussed one. Before Prem can ask what's wrong Kalpi says those dread words.
He is immediately on alert. His body becoming tense she decides to go with direct approach. Taking a deep breath Kalpi starts speaking.
Kalpi begins and tells Prem about her visit to Raghav after his mom's died. She said him how sorrowful and pain Raghav was which broke her heart. She tells him that her first instinct was to comfort Raghav to show him that he wasnot alone which led to another and another and eventually she has fallen for Raghav.
After that revelation Prem's expression changes his eyes filling with a mix of hurt, betrayal and anger but he manages to hold his tongue. She proceeds to tell Prem that how this gesture of love had grown into something deep profound and powerful.
After pausing for a moment she again continues to tell him how guilty she felt for betraying him and how she decided to save their relation and so she ended with Raghav.
Hearing this part Prem's heart caused hope to brighten. But it was short lived what she has to say next is difficult but after taking a deep breath she continues that her heart belongs to Raghav and she wants to be honest.
She apologizes for betraying him and for not telling him the truth sooner. Kalpi tells Prem that he is a wonderful man and a good person and he doesn't deserve this. Removing their engagement ring she takes his hand and place it in his palm. He looks at it with sadness and disbelief in his eyes before looking back to her.
