Chapter 26
The ambulance rushed Aadita in the hospital, raghav not far behind. He was holding on to his daughter telling her everything will be fine. He watch as aadita was rushed into the emergency room crying when she called his name. Raghav could only watch on, when she was gone he sat down on the chair still shock and hurt. He let the tears run down his face while trembling. It wasn't long before kalpi came, she rushed to the front asking for Aadita, she stop when. She saw raghav sitting with his head on his hand.
Kalpi walk towards him calling his name. She asks if Aadita was OK, but raghav staid quiet. Worried she was about to hug him when gauri and mr. Singhania walk in asking for Aadita. When raghav didn't say anything gauri thought of the worse. She cried in mr.singhania arms while he council her.
Once she was calm she turn to kalpi, angry "you, its all your fault"she says ignoring kalpi hurtful expression "if anything happen to my granddaughter I will not spare you" she says
Kalpi tries to speak but she wouldn't let her, mr singhania told her to calm down and not point fingers. But she refuse to calm down, she continue yelling and crying downgrading her.
Mr.singhania told her to leave for now and cone back when gaur I is calm. Kalpi hesitate at first before finally leaving. She went to the nearest temple to pray for Aadita. While praying one of the priest ask her why she's troubled. She explain her situation and the priest told her life is like a cliff you can stay on it or fall, it all depands on you. By falling you learn from your mistakes and become stronger. If you chose to stay you will just let the situation repeat itself over and over. He says
"So your telling me to learn from my mistakes and use it to strengthen myself" she says, the priest nods, he told her she said it better than he did and she smile. She wipe her tears and thank the priest before leaving, going back to the hospital.
Meanwhile the trio waited until finally the doctor came out, he wasn't to happy. Raghav seeing him stood up, " how is she doctor?" He says tierd, but worried
"I'm sorry to say this but your daughter, she passed away"he say this shocked raghav. He told the doctor he made a mistake and that his precious daughter isn't dead. The doctor told him she is infact dead, but raghav refuse to hear it. Gauri hearing this starts sobbing while raghav ask to see his daughter.
The doctor nod. He told them to follow him, kalpi was about to follow when gauri told her to stop. She told her she is bad luck, and that they should have never hired her. She looks at raghav telling him that kalpi is a murderer, and that when she wanted her gone no one listen, I bet this was her plan to kill Aadita and get closer to you. When she said this kalpi quickly denies it, she told her Aadita is her friend she would never harm her.
Gaur I scuff not believing her, she went to raghav telling him to believe her, but he was quiet to shock to speak. " never harm her, are you forgetting my granddaughter drown because of you, and I saw you hit her when raghav wasn't home. I remember my sweet granddaughter telling me how you mistreated her and abuse her , forcing her to like you." She angrily says
Kalpi now in tears told gauri not to lie, she told her how can she be like this. What is she trying to gain by bad mouthing her. Gauri once again look at the two man in her life, " see how she speaks to me. She has no respect for her elders." She says
"ENOUGH!" Mr singhania says, " you two should be ashamed of yourselves, we are in a hospital and my granddaughter is dead. Compose yourselves and stop arguing" he says before walking in, gaur I was about to say something but stop and follow her husband in. Now it was only raghav and kalpi, " raghav, you believe me right? I wouldn't do this, I love Aadita" she says in tears. She touch his shoulder crying but he remove her hand.
"Raghav?"
"I don't know what to believe right now" he says turning away from the hurtful eyes. She called his name, but he refuse to turn. She fall down and cry, cried for her broken heart and also her dearest friend. A few minute later she was seen walking on the side walk late at night, not paying attention. She didn't notice a car heading towards her, by the time she did she was on the floor. The old couple quickly took her to the hospital, when she was going to the emergency room gauri saw her. She heard the doctor say they took to long to bring her here, she won't make it.
This surprise her, and also made her relieve. Mr.singhania told her they will prepare to cremate their granddaughter tomorrow. She nods and leave. Meanwhile kalpi is fighting for her life, she's calling for raghav and her baba. She cried in pain and prayed in her head to live and protect raghav. She could feel it her soul leaving her body. She felt a pool, until finally her soul was out. She watch as the beeper steadily beep before the doctors gave up.
She followed the doctors outside to see the couples that helped her. They were so old, she hope they don't get in trouble. She could hear many voices,this irrates her ears. Suddenly she heard gaur I on the phone.
" I told you to kill her, not the other" she says
" I didn't know that would happen. Now what will we do"
Gaur I sighs " you will seduce my son, now that kalpi is good as dead" the voice gasp " what do you mean?"
" not to long ago she got into an accident, her injuries are far to deep she won't make it." She says happily
The voice laugh before saying " I will married raghav and I will be the only women for him" she says before hanging up.
Kalpi was shock to hear this, she wonder who was the other voice. Disgust at her, she walk in the hospital to see the doctors saying they need to contact her parents. One of the nurse said they couldn't reach her dad, but they called her mom. She didn't pick up, " w-what? Mam? She's alive?? But how" she says full with emotions, kalpi was happy but at the same time angry. So many things she was finding out, but why when she is dead. She thought
Her whole life she was motherless, thinking her mom was dead, but all along she was alive. She wondered if her dad knew as well and didn't tell her, why didn't she try contacting them or come to see her. This was all so frustrating.
"Calm down kalpi, the more you panicked the more your soul will shattered causing you to disappear" the voice said
She turn to see a beautiful women smiling at her " who are you?"
" my name is priya"
Kalpi gasp " your Aadita mom?"
"Yes, and raghav wife"
" what are you doing here, shouldn't you be up somewhere" she says pointing to the ceiling. Priya chuckle before answering her question. She told her she comes once in a while to see her family, but today she was shock to hear her daughter was dead.
"I'm sorry, this was my fault. I-I should have watched her" she says
Priya shook her head " it wasn't yours but gauri" she says
"But why would gaur I harm her own granddaughter?" She asks confuse
" she doesn't want poor blood to run in her family. See I was a poor girl trying to make a living for myself. When Gaur I found out from some fortune teller that her son future won't be bright, and he will die if not careful. She decides to secure his future with someone else by engaging raghav to paki when they were kids. Since paki luck was so high she thought her son will be lucky too, honestly I still don't know who this paki girl is, raghav didn't know either."
" what nonsence is this, she should know it won't change anything. No one can stop fate" she says
" I know, I said the same thing when I found out." She says " see I met raghav when he was injured, he was at my door without knowing it. I nurtured him and we fall in love. He would always come when ever he gets into a fight saying he needs to be nurtured, even though I grumbled saying he should go to a hospital." She laughs remembering the moments
" when ever he comes I would sing to the tune yuh hi rei, he would just listen. It wasn't long before we were engaged. Gaur I was against it, but raghav told her he will get married even without her concent. This upset her greatly, she gave in telling him she will do it." " I was so happy, after the wedding she found out I was an orphan and also I didn't have a bright future. Her and her friends plotted against me but I always won."
" the one time I let my guards down, she attacked and killed me. Raghav didn't know, I wanted to tell him but he was not around. It wasn't until I was dead that I found out they gave my heart to save the girl paki" " I was devasted and hurt by their betrayal its one thing gaur I wanted to get rid of me because of her son, but to conspire to kill me because they wanted my heart to save another. That was low" she finished wiping her tears
Kalpi apoligized to her, she was about to say something when she felt pain. Her soul was breaking, " w-what is happening" she says shaking. Aadita was confuse as well, she told her to calm down, but kalpi didn't hear her, suddenly her soul shattered and priya heard a painful scream. She was terrified at what she just saw.
She turn around when she felt someone behind her " ramji?" She says making him smile " what is going on?"
" don't be afraid Priya, you see the kalpi you saw not to long ago was a recarnation."
" of who?" She asks
He points at her, making her confuse " you see Priya, you are the original kalpana. When you died you wish to live again. So we created kalpi to help your husband."
" but ramji how can their be two kalpi and why didn't she remembered my memories?"
" she would have some day but she died like you. Since you still have way to go, I will recarnate you again so you will stop evil for good and live well." He says
" its not possible, my body is gone and my parents? Are they really my parents? The ones I've been looking for my whole life?"
"Yes they are, you will remember things slowly, but I don't know when. Your memory will become one as you remember." He says before a light surround her. Soon everything was blank she only saw darkness.
Five years later
A man stop and curse when he saw her coming. The girl fix her belt and walk to the men. She knock on the door grabbing his attention " what can I do for you officer" he says
" you were speeding very fast, missing the red light. I will have to give you a ticket" she says
"But mam, it was a yellow light, please forgive me this once" he begged. She ignored him and told him to pay up, just when he was about to pay her, a man came running in his boxers " THIEF!" He scream
The lady seeing this curse under her breath "shoot, I thought I tied him well" she quickly grab the guys money and ran. With the police man behind her. She ran and turn a corner, than smile when she saw her motorcycle. Jumping in she start her engine and drove. She ignored the scream of people and laugh seeing their expression " stupid man, you can never out smart the number one con artist kalpana priya-" she never finished when her phone rang
"Kalpana where are you?"
" I'm driving, I can't talk now dadi"
"Kalpana you better get that saree from the store and come in time for your cousin birthday"
" I know I know, don't worry dadi, if I don't make it on time I can always buy a dress" she says
"NO! I better not see you in a dress young lady, I mean it"
"Fine fine" she says but stop when she heard the police
" what is that noise, is that the poli-"
" dadi I have to go I will see you later" she says " sheet, they are very persistent" she says looking behind her, she was unaware of a huge rock ahead. By the time she notice, she fell and landed in a pool.
Just great, she thought struggling to get up "help?"" Someone help" she screams reaching for a hand. Suddenly someone grab her hand, seeing the bracelet on her hand. The person pull her up while she couph.
