Raghav kept stealing glances at Kalpana throughout the drive. He could see his ever-composed & cool friend behave weirdly as she was continuously yelling at the person on the other side of the phone. Her words were demanding for carnations but her slight heavy voice & the droplets of tears formed at the corner of her eyes were actually describing a different story all together. Raghav knew the reason behind it as he allowed her to release all her frustration on the poor man on the other end without disturbance as he focused on his driving.
A few minutes later he halted his car in front of a jewellery showroom ...which was as expected the costliest one in the city. Unbuckling his seat belt he then turned towards Kalpana who was too engrossed in her convo on the phone. Raghav took that as an opportunity to gape at her undisturbed as he rested his chin on his arms which lay cross on the steering wheel in front of him. (Similar to the scene where he was speaking to the ganpati idol Kalpana had gifted him after their one month challenge settlement)He knew he was acting like a lovestruck college teen ...but she was worth that change ! 😉😉Observing minutest of expression changes on her face ...the way she widened her eyes while shouting , her small nose crunching a bit whenever she frowned with her forehead lines being visible at the same time. Her graceful hand movements during her convo...as if swaying to some extra melodious music audible only to her. & then ... his eyes landed on her lips as he slightly pursed his own as he gulped.
R POV : & she feels she isn't worthy of me ? Arey bhaad mein jaaye social economic blah blah factors ... Loosing his entire Singhaniya empire won't be as painful if he lost her today. Now way to go Raghav Singhaniya ...or as she calls Chintooo...get her ...(sighing)hope Sammy's 'tadpofy her a bit more' plan works.
With those being his last set of thoughts he forwarded his hand & pulled her phone from her clasp. Then disconnecting it he ushered her in the store. Enquiring about the ring section he dragged her with himself to the elevator. All this time he was answering all her questions smartly ...actually over-exaggerating them as Sammy had told him to do.
Finally the elevator doors flung open as they exited it. Guiding her like a gentleman Raghav allowed her to walk further as he followed her. The moment the 2 were in the visible reach of the people around Raghav noticed every single set of eyes being fixed on them. Looking around like an astray child for a few seconds...wondering as to why they were doing so he traced the path of their visions. That's when he realised that they were actually staring at Kalpana. Not only the males ...but every single female as well...so beautiful was she. Then may it be the salespeople or the customers over there. Raghav then chuckled a bit when he saw Kalpana's blank expression ..."The girl has no idea as to how good she's looking ! Lol Raghav "
But his chuckle soon replaced immense anger when he saw a couple of salesmen looking at Kalpana in a cheap way. Raghav was a man afterall ...& who could understand such things better ? Slightly inching closer to Kalpana while walking ...not making it seem unnatural he now walked ,with her being very closeby. Raghav then managed to shoo away all of them when he aimed a cold deadly stare to the salespeople around clearly indicating "She is my woman !" Every single eye which was looking at 'his' Kalpana in an inappropriate way lowered as they started faking a pretence of work the very next second.
Raghav was not the jealous types for sure ...but instead an open-minded person who would never want Kalpana to not look good coz of the nutcases roaming around. He loved her & was proud that she was looking gorgeous...yes he was possessive about her, but not jealouus. & maybe that protectiveness made him do what he just did as he then held her hand tight under the pretext of hurrying up to reach the counter. Further hinting the people around tht she belongs to him & only him...
They finally reached the counter as Raghav demanded the salesperson over there for some engagement rings to be shown. Raghav heard her gasp as he decided to push her a bit more. That's when he asked her to help him choose a ring for 'Maya'. In actuality he wanted the ring to be of her choice ...but alas ..that didn't happen as she excused herself as it was the flower dealer again. Letting out a sigh
R POV : Today the carnation person seems more lucky than me who is getting her undivided attention.😆😆I am gonna hide tha phone of hers once we are home. Warna Pata chale ...main yaha par usse baat karne mein laga rahu aur wo Waha uss fulwale ko daatne mein magn Ho...Raghav from when did u start cracking such Sammy types jokes ?
Brushing away all his thoughts he decided to choose a ring for her by his ownself. Almost an hour passed by as raghav kept rejecting every single ring shown to him with his gaze falling on Kalpana quite often. He was actually waiting for her to come ...so that she could help him out of the duvidha in which he was. Finally losing all patience he headed towards her ...firstly he hadn't chosen all these ring stuffies ever ...secondly he had no knowledge of all the cuts & crappy stuff the salesman was speaking as he had been just nodding his head since the past hour...
& he was in no plans of buying anything which his hand first touches like he usually does while shopping for Maya who is crazy for surprise bday gifts. Iss baar baat uske kalpi hai ...he wanted nothing less than best. As a restless Raghav was nearing Kalpana he felt something shine as he was blinded for a split second (Mera dimaag kharaab Ho gaya hai ...I swear...after this os I am going in for a break pakka ...I mean blinded by a shine ...couldn't I think of somethin better ...Jeez !! Well at the moment ad I am unable to think of somethin else I let it remain.)
Immediately turning he looked in its direction to know what it was. Quickly pacing to the showcase which encased the source of that shine he now stood in front of it. He was left awestruck on seeing a beautiful diamond enclosed in an intricate platinum base which was held firmly yet delicately on a thin loop of the same expensive element of the platinum group (Heheheh...aur padho aspiring chemical engineer ke updates. At first I thought I'll rewrite that Line but fir socha Rehn deti hu ...mummy ko bolungi Maine padhai ki. Platinum with the atomic no. Of 78 is a precious element like the others in its group & hence this particular group in the periodic table is called as the platinum group. Phew...bahut padh liya Aaj ke liye. Lol !!😆😆)
He commanded the salesperson nearby to remove that ring from the showcase. Afterall u don't need to be a great knowledgeable person to identify beauty ...without any knowledge of the cuts of the diamonds or anything ...Raghav knew that that was the ring made for his Kalpana Raghav Singhaniya ! He had a similar feeling when he had seen the Valentino gown as well .. On being handed the ring Raghav held it with the lightest of his fingers as he admired its brilliant sparkle. He didn't know what made him do that as he slowly paced towards Kalpana...who was not even a bit aware of what was gonna happen to her next. The Poor thing was yet behind carnations which were of the least concern to Raghav that evening ...he had her by his side & that was enough. Now standing right beside her he lightly grasped her hand. The ease with which he did that was evident enough to tell that ,Kalpana hadn't realized that action of his. Brushing her skinny yet soft hand he finally slipped the ring in her finger ...if asked him he would not have any problem to accept that to be their engagement,sangeet, haldi & what not !! (Arghh...I just Dont want to speak about weddings). Then admiring the ring which perfectly fit into her finger he obliviously uttered "Perfect". That's when he raised his eyes & looked at her. She was happy ...immensely happy at first. But then when he again took Maya's name her smile vanished. Raghav grinned like an elf as he had that yes moment within ...'Perhaps the time has come...Finally !' He remembered questioning Sammy as to how will he come to know when Kalpana is ready ...to which he had replied " U will get to know by ur ownself" Raghav now understood exactly what Sammy meant as he rushed to the billing counter. He wanted to get home asap.That transformation in her expressions had made him realize that Kalpana now no longer feared to accept her feelings openly ...she now just wanted to be with him...
(Well I thought of stopping here as in the remaining update raghav was given importance ...but then I remembered santhisreem's comment who wished to read Raghav's POV on the proposal as well...so here it goes, though I am not goin into mega details or new additions to the story after this ...as they have already been focused on in K POV..just an upar upar se execution of stuff )
After they had settled in the car Raghav finally decided to break the ice under the veil of having a candid chat. His heart almost plopped to his mouth when he heard Kalpana request to him to be dropped home.
R POV : No ...no ...no...think Raghav...think !! She can't be going home now ...think...
Raghav heaved a sigh of relief when she herself gave him a way out of the situation by telling that they are late & that Maya wud be waiting for them. Quickly carry forwarding the convo on same lines he managed to stop her as the car finally halted in front of his building as he saw her rush upstairs.
R POV : Oh God ! What have I done so great in life that this female loves me so much...I know she is breaking from within ...but even then she is struggling for me against her own desires. She is indeed 1 of ur most awesomest creations...
As he followed her thinking that its high time that the beans need to be spilled...
Entering the house he bolted straight to the surprise-surprise room (meko aur Koi naam Nahi sujha 😕😕) when he heard Kalpana's voices calling out for Maya from there. Then entering the room he saw a worried Kalpana rush upto him ..she was in tears ...this time they were of remorse as she was apologising frequently.
'Bas ...enough of torcher !' as he held her by the shoulder. Then pulling her to the centre of the room as they now stood facing a curtained wall as he finally revealed the truth. (The dialogue format of this scene is in K POV if Ull have forgotten) He chuckled at her innocence when she questioned whether he liked Paakhi. Oh ! Silly girl... He decided it to be the time to actually make her realize as to who the girl is as he placed his chin on one of her shoulders & gently entwined his fingers with hers. Then snuggling his head in the notch of her neck he lightly brushed his lips on the smooth skin over there. He had resisted that urge for ages infinite ...it felt so atleast for him. He felt her soft cheek caress his bearded 1 as she had actually moved closer to him. Could this day get better ...his reserved-natured kalpi was no longer shy towards him. As he then snapped his fingers. That's when the curtain uncovered the wall & Raghav pointed in its direaction as he whispered in her ear"I have always been in love with this woman"
Raghav actually wished to see her expression as he gazed at her beautiful form in the reflection of the mirror to which he was pointing. She was like "But that's just a mirro..." & that's when she stopped...Finally the girl had realized that Raghav's lady love was none other than herself as she stood blank...staring at her reflection in Raghav's embrace. Raghav's smile couldn't help but broaden more & more as he saw her expression change from blank to confusion to admiral to affectionate love.
Then grazing his huge hands down her long arms he finally got hold of her waist as he pulled her towards him. Spinning her around he again noticed tears in her eyes as he brushed them off.
He had finally accepted his love as also answered her questions. He knew she loved him too.. Uski aakhein ...bataati thi ki vo use chahti hai ...par vo Yeh baat sirf ek baar Uski zubaan se sunana chahta tha (me & my obsession of Raghav's dialogues ...hayeee)
So do u ? He questioned that to her forwarding the ring which had already been on her finger once ...like a trial or something !!
(Ok ..now I am slowing the pace a bit )
Raghav was desperatly waiting for his answer as he gazed into those eyes & was lost ...all over again. He had never been so desperate b4 as he tightened his clutch onto her hand with his which wasn't holding the ring. But was met with confusion when Kalpana spoke about punishing him
R POV : Punishment ? Ok ...I know I have done wrong to her ...but...oh god ...hope she doesn't leave me or somethin...
The mischievous glint in her eyes while she spoke about the punishment confused him even further. Yet wondering as to what might the punishment be Raghav felt Kalpana hold onto the black bowtie around his neck as he was pulled towards her.
& & & ...the thing tat happened next surprised him to the core as his eyes widened a bit when he felt her soft lips being brushed against his. Then withdrawing almost immediately before Raghav cud even try & decipher as to what happened he got another shock...hehehe ...the day started off with she being miserably in shock coz of him & ab Yeh...
He heard her mumble "Yes... I Do !" Not waiting for any further muhrat he made her wear the ring as he looked at that sight with content eyes. Finally...finally...finally... Caressing her hand which bore the ring with atmost care & love he unwound their fingers as he raised his hands. Then burrowing them in her hair he pulled her CLOSER ...
Eh ! That wasn't a Raghav Singhaniya style kiss as he bent to lay claim on her lips ...he didn't hesitate to do so now,now that she was rightfully ...RIGHTFULLY his !! He quickly thanked Sammy mentally ...he wud have never seen such a bold Kalpana if he weren't there. (Wrong timing na ?? Par kya kare ..Apne Rammy bhi toh kam happening Nahi !!😆😆)
Now kissing Kalpana fully to his heart's will ... Raghav heard the melodious set of words again amidst their kisses
