wen trp Dec blamed RagNa chemistry jabki since may their were hardly any proper RagNa scenes...

I feel trps are combination of story and actors.. we can give credit to a single person for it's increase and in the same way we can't blame any one for decrease in trp. But it's true that Actors play major role in trps rather than story. coz cvs just need to give one romantic scene and it's promo and viewers will run to watch it. Not all but many of them..

if the trp has gone up because of Asha then she is very capable of handling the show by herself, then Asish should not return to the because he and Rachana are not good actors, it is a good thing I stopped watching this nonsense, and it is good that in SA we are day behind,

During Mahasangam, when SSLK also was combined with EMA and Ragna marriage was to be shown, EMA cast took the entire credit for increase in TRPs which was 2.4 although it was because of SSLK story in between and Ragna's marriage fiasco. The next week when the TRP was 1.8, and Ragna was shown the cast members said it's a joke that the TRPs increased because of them and claimed that it was because of Rakhi marriage. When TRPs started falling after Ragna's separation, the PH and CVs put the entire blame on Rachana and then said Ragna's chemistry did not work.</font>

No offence to Asha fans though but I am discussing that why actors are to be praised or condemned for TRP. They only play their part while it is the story that matters the most. The TRP you are talking about is for the previous week which had Asha coming in only on Thursday.TRPs don't come out until the week is over.And no an actor can't pull TRPs.Only God knows what pulls in the TRPs.

I have mentioned it a lot many times,would say it again.

There is a device called TRP metre that is attached to the TV sets of only 8500 homes in India.All the houses are in cities.Villages are not taken into account.40% of the houses are in Mumbai & Delhi.It is mostly in the big cities that the TRP metres have been installed.Only these 8500 households determine TRP although there are millions of TV viewers in India.

These TRP metres keeps a record of the program when a person watches it at the original telecast time.At the end of the week or fortnight the personnel from the agency TAM that calculates TRPs visit the homes where the TRP metres are installed and retrieve the information from the TV set.

And no,Set top boxes do not determine TRP.They were introduced to digitise TV viewing and to cut off the cable operators who consumed a chunk of the subscription fee of the channels,hence their revenues.
