24 Years Of Dil Chahta Hai
The Heart that Found Me - Shaurya Rajveer Preeta FS
beautifully written, hope Raghav had half the sense in the serial like the one in your story
Well here is the part 4. I had to get the dreaded moment out of my mind
PART 4
Raghav was in a foul mood. He sat at the beautiful Olive bar lounge, but his mind could not register the ornamental beauty around him. With each drink, he was trying to drown the sounds, which seemed more like unnecessary noise. Hell, he had not needed a drink since Kalpi had accepted his love. Today was an extraordinary day, as his conversation with ACP Khan had left him frustrated. Raghav kept rehashing their conversation in his head. Khan was willing to reopen the case with his influence and based on Gauri's testimony as a witness to the crime. "It will be very difficult Raghav, to indict the criminals just based on your mother's version. Her mental stability all these years will be questioned by the opposite party and their lawyers". He advised. "However, if we can get the culprits to accept their crime on their own which corroborates with your mother's, then it will be a win situation. This will have to be done without wire or tape recorder and in front of law officials." He had assured that if such a situation could be created then he or his officials would be present incognito with Raghav at that time.
Raghav's fuzzy brain could not come up with any such clever situation. He realized he had never been this drunk before where he could not process his thoughts or surroundings. He at least had the good sense to call his driver to take him home.
Kalpi also had a very disappointing day. She had gone through several interviews, without success. She was famished, tired and on top of that Raghav's thoughts kept stealing in at the most inopportune moments. She reached home late in the evening and found her parents waiting for her. As she was eating, her mother enquired about her day. "We have decided to send you to Dehu to be with your Aaji. You can find a job near there. You have promised that you will not see Raghav for the next 1 year and it will be difficult if you remain in Mumbai." Her Father said definitively. "I will not take no for an answer. I have made all the arrangements for you to leave this week. I have a friend you will assist in lining up interviews for you". Tears were brimming in Kalpi's eyes but she did not say anything.
Pakhi was waiting eagerly for Raghav. The moments that she had spent with him in his office, car and then in his room had given her high hopes. Nothing could bring her down not even Gauri Aunty. She had made extra effort to look beautiful for Raghav that evening. She could not contain her excitement and decided to wait for him in his room. Very late, Raghav shuffled into his room and found a vision in red waiting there. His befuddled brain saw Kalpi just like that day on the terrace. As he stumbled, two hands held him. Was this his Kalpi? The hands didn't seem right. The touch was misplaced. He shook his head to clear his brain but saw Kalpi's face swimming in front of his eyes. "What's wrong Raghav? Are you feeling OK"! The voice seemed far away and strange. He mumbled something incoherently. The vision escorted him to his bed, caressed his face and took off his coat and tie. He felt something wrong with all this. Even though Kalpi's face was before him, a strange voice seemed to be saying sweet nothings to him. The vision took off his shirt and then hugged him. Instead of feeling warm and fuzzy, he suddenly felt icy cold. He tried to get out of the hug but felt weak and exhausted. "I love you Raghav. I hate to see you hurting like this. I will give you all the happiness in the world. Just give me a chance and let me take care of you." The soft enticing words infiltrated his mind. This does not sound like Kalpi, he thought. Panic rose inside him and through the haze he saw a jug of water on the nightstand. Weakly he reached out for it and splashed the whole jug on his face forcefully. As the icy water stung his face and eyes, he saw Pakhi sitting before him. Revulsion for himself ripped through his body. With a painful cry, he pushed her away and got up. Reaching for the nearby drawer, he took out his pistol and placed it on his head. Shaken, Pakhi looked at him aghast.
"How dare you? How could I let you come close to me? I deserve to die," painfully he muttered. "Please stop this Raghav, don't hurt yourself', Pakhi pleaded. "I just wanted to take care of you. I am your wife."
" I don't belong to you and I never will. It is all my fault." His voice was very disquieting. Pakhi screamed for Gauri to help her and stop Raghav. Hearing all the commotion, Gauri pushed open the door and was stunned to see her son standing with a gun to his head. She shrieked and begged him to stop all this nonsense for her sake. "Tumhe meri kasam, drop the gun".
"Stay away from me. If I betray my love, even unknowingly, I do not deserve to take another breath. I will kill myself." He said resolutely and walked out of the front door.
