Part 4

A week passed by in a jiffy with Paakhi & Kalpana touristing around the vicinity of their apartment. Finally they were realising the true meaning of independence wherein they would have 2 do all their household chores by themselves. It was not that new for Kalpana but was rocket science for Paakhi. But Kalpana always helped her out. They had also taken turns for cooking but it would not be wrong 2 say that Kalpi did most of the work. But she was happy that atleast Paakhi was trying 2 make an effort.

Finally the big day had come. The reason for them coming 2 U.S.A. all the way from India i.e. their job. Both of them were rechecking their bags & assured the presence of all required things. The girls stood in front of the Ganpati idol given 2 them by Kamla Maa for good luck & seeked his blessings. They had the kheer made for Prasad & finally set of for their mission 1^st day '. They parted ways giving a hug & wishing each other luck & walked 2wards their respective offices. Both their office were at a walkable distance from the apartment but in opposite directions. (For a change they are in different offices)

Kalpana entered her larger than life office 5 mins earlier than her reporting time. She informed the receptionist about her arrival. She was guided by a man who directed her the way 2 the conference hall. She entered the hall. It was almost full but Kalpana found a seat. As the clock struck 10 a man walked in through the door with a set of ppl following him. Kalpana's eyes widened as she saw the man's face & recognized him 2 be

(Naaa...it's not Raghav. As I have mentioned earlier my ff will have nothing in common with the serial. We have had enough of office drama & romance. I have something more interesting in store .Wait till u find it out !!)

the person whose son she had helped during the air plane journey. She was even more shocked when she learnt that he was the CEO of the company. It was tough for her 2 believe that the CEO of such a big company was a person so down-to-earth as she recalled the plane incident wherein he had apologized for Richie Rich's humiliation. She snapped back 2 reality when the man introduced himself as Neil Mathur & begun 2 speak. After the speech they were asked 2 accommodate their new places. As Kalpana was about 2 exit a man stopped her & informed her that the CEO wished 2 meet her. She gave a slight nod & walked 2wards Neil. Irrespective of the major differences in them Neil spoke 2 her warmly thanking her for the kindness she had shown in the plane as also expressed his eagerness 2 work with a girl who didn't hesitate 2 express her views & protest against the wrong. She was happy that she will be working in his company.

Kalpana POV : Aai thik hi kehti thi ... Good deeds always pay'

The rest of the day passed smoothly as she headed 2 her apartment. When she entered Paakhi was already there struggling with the flour 2 make rotis. She had a good laugh on seeing Paakhi's state as she could see more flour on her face & her hair than in the bowl.

Kalpana: (with fake seriousness)Ye koi naya beauty tip hai kya tere beautician ka ? (as she started laughing & dusting the flour from her head)

Paakhi: Shut up yaar Kalpi. Idhar mai rotiya banane ki koshish kar rahi hu aaur ek tu hai . Anyways .. chhodd how was ur day ??

Kalpana narrated the entire day's story while helping Paakhi 2 cook food . Later she changed her clothes & got on the dining table where paakhi had already served the food. Even she told Kalpi about her 1^st day at office & also abt her cute & sweet boss. Both the girls were content with their jobs.

SOME DAYS LATER ...

Kalpana had come home from her hectic day & was watching tv. She was waiting for Paakhi when the doorbell rang. She opened the door & was shocked 2 see Paakhi in that state. Her nose was red & her eyes smaller than ever. Paakhi landed with a thud on the bed. When Kalpana checked her body temperature she quickly understood that she was running with high fever. Kalpana connected an online call to their doctor back in India. Luckily they had carried the required medicines. Kalpana made Paakhi some soup & made her take the medicines. It was 8 in the night when Paakhi insisted on completing the presentation she was supposed 2 submit the next day. But Kalpi was adamant & ordered her 2 rest giving her an assurance that she would complete her pending work. Kalpi sat the entire night & found many mistakes in it. She rectified them & also added her magic touch 2 it. The presentation was finally ready. It was 4 in the morn by the time she was done with the work. She checked Paakhi's temperature again & left a sigh of relief finding it 2 be normal. She slept for a couple of hours & woke up 2 see a steaming cup of black coffee in front of her held by Paakhi.

Kalpana : arey ! tu yeh kya kar rahi hai. Tujhe toh aaram karna chahiye & tune yeh baahar ke kapde kyu pehne hai ??

Paakhi :Don't worry Kalpi ... I'm super fine now. & aaj mujhe kisi bhi haalat mein office jaana hi hoga. U see vo presentation aaj submit hona bahut imp hai.

Understanding the seriousness in Paakhi's voice she allowed her but also threatened her 2 take the medicines & lunch on time.

In the evening as Kalpana was winding up her work her phone buzzed. It was Paakhi.

Paakhi: (In a panicky voice) Arey Kalpi ... thodi problem ho gayi hai. Kya tu abhi mere office aa sakti hai ?

Kalpana :Par hua kya?

Paakhi: Wo main tujhe baad mein batati hu. Par plz tu abhi ke abhi aa na yaha !

Kalpi rushed to Paakhi's office as she cud sense the panic in Paakhi's voice.

OUTSIDE HER OFFICE

Paakhi: Accha hua tu aa gayi. Yaad hai tune jo kal presentation banaya tha vo sab ko bahut accha laga. Uska execution kal hone vala tha par vo prepone ho gaya hai. Vo presentation abhi hoga.

Kalpana : TOh isme problem kya hai ?

Paakhi: Problem yeh hai ki jo presentation karni vali thi usko achanak se chutti leni padi & technically I have no idea about the project or the presentation kyunki vo tune banaya hai.

Kalpi now understood the entire scenario.

ENTERING THE LIFT

Paakhi: Toh aaj tujhe meri jagah presentation dena hoga... as it is very imp for the company. Maine boss se baat kar li hai tere bare mein & he has agreed & r waiting for u. Please Kalpi ab tuhi bacha sakti hai mera job & uss naye khadoos boss se !!

Kalpana could not say no & neither did she find any problem as she has understood the project quite nicely.But 1 thing confused her

Kalpana : Par tune toh kaha tha ki tera boss cute & sweet hai!

Paakhi: Haan ...Par 2day I realized that he just works under the khadoos CEO.

They exited the lift to see 2 men pacing around with tension completely visible on their faces at a distance.

Paakhi: (pointing 2wards the men ) There they are !

Kalpana could not find words 2 express her shock on seeing them.

Who do you think they are?? Perhaps u have guessed it right !! This time it was they who neede KAlpi & had no other option. But would Kalpi let go things so easily (as in the serial) ?? Abhi toh uski baari aayi hai chun chun ke badla lene ki... Thank You !!
