Hey Everyone,
So here I am, late as usual. In my defense, I came back from University at 10 p.m. at night and the first thing I did was watch my show! Of course, by that, I mean EMA lol. At first, I wasn't really planning to make any post since I was too tired but someone had asked me to do so, so here I am lol.
Coming to the episode - I LOVED it!!! I absolutely loved this episode for so so many reasons! I will try to put forward some of them for you guys and will try to put it as brief as possible since I am really tired and need to start studying for my test that's on Friday and need to sleep earlier too since I have a morning class tomorrow.
Let's sort of start from the very beginning. The 50 sec scene of RagNa, albeit emoted really well, could definitely go with a better direction! But let's not worry about that. Let's move forward to the part that the first thing Raghav did was hug her as he came in the door (alright so maybe I was scared that they may get trapped and was screaming at the computer screen for them to get out already but still). I liked how just pulled her closer to him, as if shielding her from any harm, even getting a blanket so her body doesn't feel any burn when getting out. To me those few moments made me smile.
Let's actually go onto a more fun part - the engagement! Oh how I loved it. It was so heartbreaking but it brought a lot of things in perspective for me as an audience. I have always known Kamla to be impartial to Pakhi but for somewhat justified reason (from her twisted logic) and I actually wanted to give her a benefit of the doubt before. Now though I can clearly say that her loyalties lie with Pakhi. I knew that Kamla would eventually understand and support RagNa but the person's true feelings and attitude doesn't come out when confronted in an expected setting, but when caught off guard. It's that instant that actually molds a person's character. For Kamla, it was the instant where Kalpi told her that she loves Raghav. The first thing coming out of her mouth were: "Tu Raghav se kaise pyaar kar sakti hai? Pakhi Chahti hai Raghav ko!"
Oh I still remember Raghav's "What the heck?!" expression when he heard that. He was so confused as to what she even meant by that. But my point isn't what Raghav felt just yet. My point is that Kamla had shown her impartiality all the more loudly from all those years, and all those years of tooting the horn about being fair isn't going to justify what she did today. You know what I find funny? She was crying like a child. It wasn't Kalpi or Raghav or Vithal or even the society members that were being immature. It was simply her. She was the one who wanted Raghav to marry Pakhi so bad because she was so afraid of losing face in front of Pakhi. She has promised Raghav to Pakhi, without explicitly ever talking about it to him and given Raghav to Pakhi as if he's some comodity. That really fascinated me today about the whole episode. She was acting like she was a puppet master and everyone else is there to follow her desires. When her views were challenged, she acted brattish. She just stubbornly reiterated that it's not possible, as if they were slaves to her whims. I was astonished at how she presented her repulsion towards RagNa. I knew that she would do it but thought that it would be in a more mature manner.
I marveled at the two scenes that followed after. I love the role reversal between Raghav and Vitthal today. The usually firm Raghav actually spoke in a softer manner, knowing how delicate the situation really was. On the other hand, the usually soft spoken Vitthal stood up for RagNa and firmly told Kamla that he would not let her sacrifice his daughter's happiness for the sake of Pakhi.
Oh how I loved the next scene so much! I loved how softly Raghav spoke about RagNa. He has always thought like a businessman and knew that yelling in this situation would be the worse case scenario. He also knew that going all hullabol on her would also be the worst! First rule of psychology, don't ever start a conversation with accusations if you want a healthy discussion because the other party may get defensive. So, he did what he always does - worked best with the situation. He knew that blaming Kamla would be the most ineffective thing to do so he made himself a scapegoat. Even his speech gave that message loud and clear. I loved how he sat down with her and asked her for Kalpi's hand, saying that yes it was a misunderstanding but they can better it now. I love how he softly asking for Kalpi's hand, as if pleading (very nobly) for his life-line and happiness. You know other thing I saw? I saw Kamla even betraying Raghav's respect and trust by rejecting him for really illogical reasons - did he ask for Pakhi to like him? Is it his fault that Kamla had misinterpreted his actions? Couldn't she have at least asked? I only have one answer to this. It was her confirmation bias. She was expecting Raghav to like Pakhi so she always associated his affections with Pakhi, not even considering that he could mean Kalpi - but where did Kalpi lie in Kamla's bias and world? I am really curious now.
Another thing I loved about today was the way Vitthal stood up for Kalpi. He stopped her and told her again that she was being bias. In this situation, this was perfect! Why? Because if this would've come from Kalpi then Kamla would've thought of it as rebelling against her. If this came from Raghav then she would've been even more repelled from this wedding. Right here, Raghav needed to be mellow but still firm one - which he was. I am glad that Vitthal gave her a reality check about how bad of a mother she really was. He hit her when she was the most vulnerable to make her think. Alas, it was ineffective but would only be effective if she herself saw what she was doing.
Coming back to this scene, oh how I loved Rachna's expressions here. The poor girl was heartbroken at how little her mother thought of her. Even when Vithal was trying to reason with her, she kept on bringing Pakhi up. Kalpi was right there, crying at how little her mother loved her no matter how much she sought for her approval. And it followed with the best scene according to me.
Kamla said that she had asked Raghav for Pakhi and he had said yes and Raghav clarified that he thought it was for Kalpi. You know what made my heart go out to Kalpi? The fact that Kamla replied, "Main apni beti ke baare main hi baat kar rahi thi." Not only did I feel like giving Kalpi a hug but also feel like slapping some sense into Kamla. Oh and you know what I loved more about this scene? Raghav stood up for Kalpi - in his own way! I love the way his expression grew really hard when he replied, "Wahi to Kamla Ma, beti to aap ki kalpi hi hai." I loved how with one word, Raghav made Kamla realize what she was doing. He made her realize that she was tooting a horn of one girl while ignoring the happiness of her own daughter! Oh, how I loved the way he said that if she had a problem with confronting Pakhi then he would be the one to tell her that he doesn't love her. I absolutely loved his expression when he said, "Aap ijazat de ya na de, main Pakhi se shaadi nahiin karoonga!" Wow! That was a very big statement made by Raghav. It made me smirk! Oh, how he wiped the floor with her - showed perfectly in her expression when he said that!
You know what I also liked about this episode? There was so much use of psychology. I liked how Kalpi mellowed down and wanted to talk to Kamla. I liked how Vithal came to talk to her. They are using the same tactic - telling the thief to police an item. When you show that you trust a theif to police something and he would be the one to answer for it if it were to be lost, then the thief would be less likely to steal it (of course due to the responsibility give to him). This was the same with Kamla. Kalpi and Vithal wanted to show Kamla that her opinions mattered to her, that she is still in power, but they trust her to make the right decision. This puts pressure on her and she knows that she can't be impartial even though she wants to be!! That's why, the scene that followed after put her in mandir where she was in dilemma - follow her impartial heart or let the two people who trusted her to make the right decision down? We all know what she will choose.
On a side note, Kamla needs to stop seeing Raghav as commodity. Her character isn't really what it used to be. She never treated people as if they were a thing. That really disappointed me today. I expected her to be against RagNa but not like she was shown to be - illogical, unreasonable and completely brattish. Either way, a very action packed episode!! Do share what you felt đł
So, I guess it wasn't such a short post after all? lol
