Chapter 13: Good morning!
Gauri maa wakes us disoriented,
she looks around the room trying to recollect where she is. She sees Kalpi and
her sir, Kalpi is sprawled over her sir and he is holding her around the waist
so that she does not fall over, both fast asleep on the day bed. She smiles to herself
and thinks how sweet to be young and in love. She chuckles to herself as she quietly
walks out of the room, thinking that Kalpi's sir is going to wake up to aches
all over his body, for the day bed is not long enough for him nor is it wide
enough to accommodate the both of them.
Ragav waits until he is sure aai
has left the room, he then opens his eyes and slowly turns so as not to wake
Kalpi, reversing their positions. He uses his arms to balance himself so that
he does not squash Kalpi with his weight. He gazes at her for some seconds
before desire takes over. He wakes Kalpi by trailing soft kisses along her neck
towards her throat and lips. Kalpi opens her eyes smiling and opens her mouth
to accept his kiss, filled with passion... matching passion for passion... lost
in their desire for one another.
Gauri maa stands by the door "Ahem...
ahem..." she says loudly, wanting to break their moment. Ragav and Kalpi jump apart startled. Ragav cannot
believe he was so caught up that he forgot where he was, thinks to himself in
disgust "Hell, I am behaving like a teenager, groping her every chance I get"
and mutters to himself "Dude, where the hell is your control!" Kalpi burrows
her head under the pillow blushing, thinking, "Oh gosh, how am I ever going to
face Ragav's mum."
Gauri maa turns away, giving them
a moment to compose themselves, and then continues on, "Kalpi your aai is on
her way up. The both of you might..." She did not get to complete her sentence
for both Ragav and Kalpi quickly jerked into action. Ragav zoomed pass her and headed
towards his room with a blank look on his face, while Kalpi blushingly rushed to
her allocated guest room. Gauri maa chuckles thinking, "Young love" as she heads
towards the main door to let Kamla maa in.
Kamla maa walks in looking
anxiously around and says, "Tai where is Kalpi? Why did you open the door?"
Gauri maa understands her anxiety and not wishing to prolong it, immediately
answers, "She is in her room getting ready for work." She notices the relief
that seeps into Kamla maa's eyes and continues smilingly, "You can ask how I am
feeling." Kamla maa gives tai a sheepish grin and says, "Tai you look a lot
better, that's good."
Kalpi walks into the sitting room;
not meeting Gauri maa's gaze and says, "Good morning," as she heads towards the
kitchen to make breakfast. Kamla maa smiles and says, "Kalpi, did you wake late
beta. Let me help you make breakfast so that you are not late for work." "No
aai, it won't take me long and Ragav has asked me not to go work today. You sit
with Gauri maa." As Kalpi prepares breakfast, she decides to make kheer first.
Ragav walks into the dining area,
where Gauri maa, Kamla maa are sitting at the dining table and Kalpi is serving
them breakfast. He calls out "Good morning", as he heads towards them. Looking at
him, one could not tell that just moments ago he was in a compromising
position. He engages in polite conversation with his aai and Kamla maa, while
Kalpi serves him his breakfast. He sits back and watches his aai interact and
wishes that his aai remembered him, he looks on thinking for now he will settle
being Kalpi's sir to her. He looks towards Kalpi, his gaze softens as he waits
for her to meet his gaze. She meets his gaze shyly, he mouths, "Are you okay?"
Kalpi nods and looks away. Ragav is not ready to be dismissed by Kalpi, he
wants her attention, he says, "Kalpi..."and waits for her to look at him then
continues, holding his coffee mug says with a smile, "Coffee please."
Gauri maa is in a teasing mood
and cheekily says, "Wah Ragav, you are enjoying the benefits of a husband without
getting married." Ragav smiles sheepishly and looks down to his plate... Kalpi
blushingly runs into the kitchen... for both of them recollect their earlier incident.
Kamla maa looks at tai worriedly and says, "Tai why are you saying this." Tai
laughs and says, "Relax Kamla, look at Ragav, he is getting served as a husband
and Kalpi is cooking and serving him like a wife. Now that Kalpi is here, she
is going to cook all his meals and make him tiffin for lunch, when she makes
hers." She continues laughing.
Raghav freezes, his spoon
forgotten in his hand, he stares at his mom for today he heard her laugh. The
last time he heard this sound was in his childhood. Overwhelmed with emotion,
he feels a hand clasp his shoulder distracting him. Ragav looks up, Kalpi smiles
at him reassuringly.
"Kalpi, I shall come back home
after my meeting. I have spoken to the hospital to send a day nurse and a night
nurse for aai... tai" he hastily corrects himself, and continues on, "I don't want
kamla maa and you to overstretch yourselves. The nurses will help both of you. He
then kisses the top of Kalpi's head not caring that both their aai's were
present and heads out.
