Lovely update Saanjh. I really like your writing. You describe ragna's emotions very well. The pain, the uncertainty everything is so well written. Kalpi finds the truth that Raghav has changed and is waiting for her forgiveness. She's ready to do that for Hiya's sake. What about her? Can she forgive him and move on with him. She still love him though she pretends not to. Hope they live happily with their daughter. Till now happiness has eluded both of them.

Nice part..Hiya is happy finally she got her dad..Kalpna compromise for Hiya..Let see how Raghav & Hiya get more bonded..

Chap 23.

His life is in front of him extending her hand to him and Raghav holds her hand firmly without wasting a single moment. Her offering friendship to him is like an oasis in desert, a ray of light in dark, a soothing breeze on a hot day. In precise, he feels like a man who gets his life back. The moment she extended her hand toward him, he feels like to envelope her in his arms for forever. But he knows he had lost the right. He has been forgiven only. He has no qualms about this. Her forgiveness and friendship will be enough for him to live his whole life happily. He tries to make his heart understand this but he knows it is of no use. He wants her to love him like before. He wants to scream that he does not want her friendship but her love. He wants a family with her, Hiya and Neel.

There is awkward silence in the room as Raghav and Kalpana both are lost in their respective thoughts.

Kalpana feels like that something heavy has been withdrawn away from her heart. She feels light. She never knows that forgiving Raghav is so important for her own peace. She becomes conscious of the surroundings and looks at Raghav. Both of them don't know how to start a normal conversation. Kalpana breaks the ice.

Kalpana : Raghav, Now I should leave. Hiya and Neel must be waiting for me.

Raghav : ok, Kalpana .

Kalpana : Bye Raghav.

Kalpana goes toward door and then turns back. Raghav is hoping that she will tell him to call her Kalpi like she did in her childhood.

Kalpana : Raghav, Hiya wants to meet u.

Kalpana is about to leave when Raghav asks : Can I meet her now?

Kalpana : Raghav you don't need my permission. She is your daughter also. Sorry for not telling this to you before.

Raghav : It's ok Kalpana. Now let's go.

Raghav and Kalpana come downstairs and go out of Singhania mansion. Gouri Singhania sees them leaving hiding behind the pillar. She has heard their conversation before. She is happy today for her son, he has got her forgiveness. Now she has to do something so that he can get his love also. She has to do something to make her family complete.

Raghav and Kalpana leave in Kalpana's car. The half an hour drive is silent one. Raghav is afraid that his voice may betray his inner feelings for her and maybe she will not like it. Kalpana does not know what to say or what to not. She has offered him the friendship but she knows it is just a formality from her side. They can't be friends again. They can't share a relation except that they are parents of Hiya.

Raghav and Kalpana reach Kalpana's home. Kalpana sees her dada fuming with anger. Her dada's concentration is on her only so he fails to notice the person with her

Pakya : You have left hospital alone and aai did not stop this. What is all this Kalpu? You are still weak. You need rest.

Kalpana holds her ears : sorry,dada. I will not do it again. Will you not welcome Raghav?

In her mind , Kalpana knows that if her dada gets a chance , he will strangle Raghav to death But she does not want a scene in front of Hiya and neel. Pakya looks at his sister and looking at her pleading eyes; He just glares to Raghav and then leaves from there. Raghav remembers the day when he and Pakya used to tease Kalpana making a team against her. But now everything has been changed. Hiya and Neel are playing with Rahul when Hiya sees Raghav . Hiya runs to him Papa' and then she notices Kalpana Mumma'. Raghav sits on his knees to engulf his daughter in his arms. Kalpana looks at Hiya's happy face. Her eyes are glowing with happiness. Neel comes there . Kalpana sits down on her knees and Neel hugs her tightly. Hiya leaves Raghav and hugs her mother and brother. Raghav looks at the perfect family but he knows he does not have a place in this. Rahul also looks at Hiya, neel and Kalpana . Then he notices Raghav's longing eyes, his eyes are reflecting his own desire. For the first time in his life, he feels bad for Raghav. Raghav has his family in front of him but he can't be part of it same like him. He too wants his family, his purba with him.

After some time, Kalpana notices Hiya and neel chatting with Raghav and Rahul. She hears their conversation. Hiya and Neel are arguing whose papa is best. Raghav and Rahul are laughing on their antiques. Kamla Maa and amrita also notices this and they feel happy. Pakya has denied coming out of his room. He does not want to face Raghav again. Kalpana gets a call on her mobile. A smile appears on her lips. Raghav notices smiling face of Kalpana. He feels happy.

2 weeks passes by.

Now Raghav does come Kalpana's house every day after office to meet Hiya. He has developed a bond with Neel also. The awkwardness between him and Kalpana is decreasing. Now they are not too uncomfortable with each other. They talk about Hiya and Neel's studies, their teacher, Purba's health, Rahul's busy schedule, Trisha's antiques, Kalpana's NGO, college work, cancer hospital etc. They avoid talking about themselves.

It is Sunday afternoon. Kalpana is lazily sleeping on the sofa watching her dada playing with Hiya and neel, her mother again pursuing her bhabhi to eat something. Door bell rings. Kalpana opens the door and find Gouri Singhania standing there. Kalpana does not know how to react.

Gouri : will you not invite me to enter?

Kalpana : I am sorry Mrs. Singhania..I mean aunty. Please come in.

Gouri enters and looks at Hiya. Kalpana understands and calls hiya.

Kalpana : Hiya, meet your dadi.

Hiya : Dadi?

Kalpana : yups dadi, your papa's mother. Now greet her.

Hiya greets her dadi and her dadi hugs her. Neel comes there and asks innocently: what do I call di's dadi , mee? Before Kalpana can answer, Gouri speaks: You will also call me dadi. I am your dadi too and hugs him. Remembering their previous encounter, Gouri feels bad and tries to avoid gaze of amrita but amrita greets her politely. Kamla Maa also greets her.

Gouri : I am here to talk with you Kamla.

Kamla : tell me tai. What can I do for u?

Gouri : I want to ask your daughter's hand for my son.

Kamla is shocked and so is Kalpana. They don't know how to react. Kamla always wanted Kalpana to forgive Raghav and she is happy that Kalpana finally forgave Raghav . But she knows her daughter very well. She will never marry Raghav.

Gouri looks at their shocked faces: Actually, Kamla, I think it will be good for Hiya. She will get love of her both parents. Hiya will stay with her parents.

Hiya who is playing, just listens the part where her dadi speaks about her staying with her both parents. She feels happy. She comes running and hugs Kalpana : Mumma, It's true that we will live with Papa. Tell me naa..'. Kalpana looks at Hiya's overjoyed face and takes her decision. She asks hiya to play with Neel. Then she turns to Gouri Singhania.

Kalpana : Aunty, I am ready to marry Raghav but You have to accept my son Neel also.

Kamla, Pakya and amrita are too shocked to react.

Gouri : Ok. I will talk with panditji regarding engagement and marriage.

Kalpana : Aunty, one more thing, I just want a simple temple marriage , no engagement, no reception. It is wastage of money. I will prefer to use that money to feed orphan children.

Gouri : Ok, Kalpana. Bye Kamla. I will call u and inform you about the marriage.

Gouri leaves from there and Kalpana rushes to her room and closes the door. Kalpana cries her heart out in empty room. She does know that this marriage is nothing but a compromise for her. She will live with this compromise for her daughter's sake, for her children's bright future. Kamla is knocking on her door continuously but Kalpana does not open the door. She needs time with herself, to convince herself to marry Raghav.

In singhania mansion, same news brings happiness in Ragha's life. He feels like he had won the whole world as Kalpana has finally agreed to marry him. His dream will come true. He will get his family.

Gouri talks with priest and fix their marriage date which is after 2 days. Both the families started the preparations of marriage. Gouri has told Raghav not to meet Kalpana before marriage. He has talked to her on phones and feels that there is something missing but then he thinks maybe she is nervous just like him. Raghav has started dreaming about his married life with his love. His wait of 10 years is going to over soon. His family, his life will be with him. He is happy being unaware the fact that the marriage is just compromise for Kalpana. Love and trust are not part of their relation.

In Kalpana's house,

Kamla is being impatient as she sees Kalpana talking with Raghav, checking marriage preparation, playing with kids, teasing her bhabhi, avoiding her dada, never meeting her mother's eyes with a smile which never reaches her eyes. If a person does not know her, he will feel that she is happy with this marriage but Kamla knows that her daughter is not like this. Pakya also feels that Kalpana is not happy with this marriage but he knows that they can't stop her.

Kamla corners Kalpana finally.

Kamla : What is all this Kalpana ? Why are u marrying Raghav?

Kalpana : aai, you always told me to forgive him and I forgave him. Hiya needs her father .

Kamla : Tell me truthfully Do you love Raghav?

Kalpana : Aai, I will prove to be a good wife and mother. I assure you. I failed as a daughter and sister. I broke your trust. You all had to suffer a lot because of me. Not any more. I will try to be good wife and mother.

Kamla : It is not I am asking for . Do you love Raghav baba?

Kalpana : aai, you did not know baba when you both get married.

Kamla : Don't play with words Kalpana . your baba and my wedding was different. But you and Raghav has a history

Kalpana : I will not let my past affect on my future.

Kamla : I am asking again Do you love Raghav baba.

Kalpana's resolution weakens and finally her tears betray her. She hugs her mother tightly.

Kalpana : aai, you know I read a story in which a girl is saying that she is incapable to love as something is dead in her heart. I never understood that line that day.I thought How can anyone be incapable to love . But today I know what that means. I don't love him. I don't aai. I am incapable to love. This marriage is nothing but a compromise for me

Kamla hugs her daughter tightly and pats her back : Don't do this , Kalpana? You will spoil Raghav's life also.

Kalpana : Please believe me,aai . he will not regret marrying me. I will try to be a good wife and I promise you that.

In Singhania Mansion,

Sammy caught Raghav hiding a pair of beautiful anklets.

Sammy : my friend is buying gifts for her would be wife.

Raghav : Not for my would be wife but for my lady love. My lady love will be my wife after the rituals. You know she loved this anklets when I took her for shopping but she did not buy it . She told me that she would wear it on our wedding day and its tinkling sound would continue talking to me while We would take rounds around fire. Finally we are getting married. Our love will get its destination. She still loves me. I am getting my love back, Sammy

Sammy : I am very happy for u, Raghav. I hope you get all happiness in your life. Now send this gift to Kalpana.

Raghav : No, i will make her wear it before our marriage and you have to help me to meet her.

Precap :

Scene 1:

Raghav : How can I marry her. She does not love me. Her love for me is dead.

Gouri : have u seen dried seeds Raghav? It looks like that trees can't grow out of them but little water do the wonder. Same is with Kalpana. Her love is not dead but it is sleeping. You have to wake it with your love. Life is giving u a chance .

Scene 2 :

Raghav : I will wait for u till the eternity. I love u.

Kalpana : Don't make things difficult for me.

Raghav : I am not making anything difficult for u. Hiya and Neel must be waiting for u. Neel can't sleep without holding your hand.

Kalpana looks at Raghav with a new respect, a gratitude.

Raghav in his mind : soon these emotions will be replaced with only love which I want to see in your eyes for me.
