chap 22 :

Raghav comes out of Kalpana's room. Kalpana's words are ringing in his ears. Kalpana regrets trusting him. She hates herself for loving him. She thinks that he used her as she is a maid's daughter.

Sammy sees Raghav walking aimlessly in hospital corridor. He calls him but Raghav cannot hear him as he is in the trance. He has seen the pain in Kalpana's eyes which she had hidden till now. He has encountered with the questions which she wanted to ask him from last 10 years. How can she think that he used her as she is Maid's daughter? How can she think such low about him and herself? How can she? He had not touched any girl except her and he never will? And that was not desire but it was their love. She herself named their daughter as chahat which means love or she mockingly named their daughter Chahat. His daughter will hate him if she ever comes to know about his doing.

Don't leave me like everyone else. Please stay with me Kalpana. ...I will be always there for you Raghav, believe me...I love u Raghav...you will be the first hero of our daughter Raghav ... I hate you papa... You used me Raghav. ..

The words are echoing in his ears. He covers his ears with his palms and tears make their way in his eyes. He had got everything in a minute and lost the same in next moment. He can't face his daughter. He has lost the right. He does not deserve his little angel's love. He does not deserve a single slight of happiness in his life. He had snatched everything from the girl who trusted and loved him blindly. His misunderstanding destroyed a complete family's happiness. A family which treated him as their son, helped him when he needed it.

Raghav is walking on the road. He is not aware that he had left the hospital a long time ago. He is burning in the penance and continuously cursing himself for betraying Kalpana. A car is about to hit him when Sammy drags him.

Sammy : What is this nonsense Raghav? Where are you lost? You would have died?

Raghav : Death would have been easy punishment for me Sammy. But no I have to live to burn in my penance, to see hatred in my own daughter's eyes, to see ignorance in the eyes of a girl who once loved me. I have to live in this hell which I had created.

Sammy : What are you blabbering Raghav.

Raghav : Sammy, Hiya is my daughter, my and Kalpana's daughter. You know Sammy I felt like I was the luckiest man on the earth when she called me PAPA' . But what will happen if she ever comes to know about my reality? What will she do when she will come to know that I am culprit of her mother? She will hate me just like her mother. No she will hate herself that she is my daughter like Kalpana hates herself for loving me because I am not worthy even of their hatred.

Sammy : Don't say this Raghav. It was a misunderstanding. Kalpana will forgive u one day and little that I know about Kalpana , she will never want chahat to hate u. Believe me.

Raghav : I know but how can I face my daughter. I don't deserve her.

Sammy : stop it Raghav. You had suffered enough for our mistake. You had punished yourself a lot. Now stop it. Now let's go to hospital. You need medication. You are not fit yet. Gouri aunty is worrying about you.

Raghav : I don't want to go to hospital. I want to go home.

Sensing Raghav's numb heart, Sammy calls Gouri Singhania and then takes Raghav to Singhania mansion.

In hospital,

Hiya enthusiastically tells neel and Rahul about her father and then takes them to Kalpana's room to make them meet her father. But she does not find Raghav there and sees her mother and aaji. Kamla is comforting Kalpana after her encounter with Raghav.

Hiya : Mumma where is papa? Rahul uncle and neel want to meet him.

Kalpana does not know what to answer as her aai just informed her that she had seen Raghav leaving hospital. Rahul looks at Kalpana questioningly.

Kalpana : Your papa is taking rest. He is also hurt. Your Rahul uncle and Neel can meet him tomorrow.

Hiya : Ok. We will meet him tomorrow Neel.

Kamla : Now you also go home. Your mom needs rest. Rahul please drop Hiya and neel in the house.

Rahul : sure aunty, Bye Kalpi.

Kalpana smiles to Rahul and Rahul senses the worries hidden beneath her smiling face.

Hiya and Neel : Bye Bye aaji. Take care mumma.

Kalpana : Bye and don't irritate your mamu and mami.

Hiya and Neel leave with rahul.

Kalpana looks at worriedly to her mother.

Kamla : Don't misunderstand Raghav baba. I have seen love for hiya in raghav's eyes. He will not hurt his daughter.

Kalpana : Please aai, don't defend your Raghav baba. I am stupid that I believed him again. I again believed in those eyes which betrayed me. But I will kill him if he will hurt my daughter.

Kamla : Kalpi!!! Stop it. Give him a chance to explain. Don't come to any conclusion.

Kalpana : Ok, just call him and asks him why had he done this?

Kamla calls Raghav but Raghav cuts her call. Gouri and Sammy notice this.

Gouri : Don't do this Raghav .It will hurt your daughter and Kalpana.

Raghav smiles, a sad smile.

In hospital, Kalpana mockingly asks Kamla : so what did your raghav baba say? He got some very important work or he just wants to hurt my daughter by doing this drama. Kamla does not know what to say. Her heart is saying that Raghav might have any valid reason for his sudden disappearance from hospital but she knows that her daughter will not believe it.

Kalpana : It is your raghav baba's old technique. First to win people's trust and then to break this trust into pieces. I will not let your Raghav baba win this time. I will not allow him to play with my little daughter's heart.

Kalpana struggles to come out of bed but her body does not support her.

Kamla : Kalpi, take rest now. You can get your answers tomorrow.

Kalpana lies on the bed again reluctantly. Sleep is far away from her eyes. Hiya's restlessness not seeing Raghav is haunting her.

In Singhania mansion, raghav is restless in his room. He is paying for his sin. He has to live without his love Kalpana and Hiya .

Next day,

Kalpana gets discharged from hospital. After telling Kamla Ma that she is going to meet Raghav, she leaves hospital and sits in her car. She instructs driver to take her to the Singhania mansion. Kalpana reaches to Singhania mansion and comes out of her car. She enters into singhania mansion when she collides with a young girl. Kalpana mutters a sorry and walks from there. But the girl suddenly speaks Kalpi di, I am meeting you after such a long time. How are u ?' Kalpana looks at the girl. The girl's face is so familiar but she cannot remember her. The girl speaks again So, you forgot me Kalpi di. I am Jiya' . Kalpana looks at her and says : Jiya, Kanta tai's daughter. How are u? You are looking so different? Jiya : Me fine, Kalpana di. Your daughter and son are very cute. I met them when Kamla tai came to chawl.' Kalpana : Thanks. Kalpana is about to move from there when Jiya speaks again : Di, are u here to meet Raghav Sir? I have known that you would forgive Raghav Sir one day. He is such a wonderful person. He had helped me when my husband left me and my son. Do you know he had not given your house of singhania chawl to anyone? I had seen him so many times in front of your house late at nights, drunk and distraught. Jiya then shows her a file He is investing in non profit cancer hospital vittal nirogalay'. I had never seen him happy in last 10 years. But then I see him happy some days ago and the next day I got to know that you are in the town. I will pray that he may get all happiness in his life . Kalpana is just listening Jiya's nonstop chattering. Her mind is denying every word spoken by her but the look on jiya's face when she is describing raghav's plea, Kalpana feels sad for Raghav. Jiya leaves from there. Kalpana does not want to face Raghav now. She is about to go out of Singhania mansion, when Pakhi's voice stops her.

Pakhi : Kalpi, Jiya was telling truth to you. I have not said all these to u as you would have thought that I am defending my husband's friend. But truth is that Raghav is waiting for your forgiveness from last 10 years. He never blamed you though he thought that you had aborted his child. He just blamed himself for that. After learning truth about Hiya, he is punishing himself from staying away from her. He is afraid that hiya will hate her as the same way you hate her.'

Kalpana : I want to meet Raghav once'.

Pakhi shows Kalpana Raghav's room. Kalpana enters into Raghav's room with lots of confusions and sees him lying on the bed. Raghav gets shocked seeing Kalpana in his room and Kalpana looks at Raghav awkwardly.

Raghav sits on his bed and looks at Kalpana confusingly. Kalpana looks at everywhere in Raghav's room except at him.

Raghav : What are u doing here Kalpana?

Kalpana : I am here to talk about Hiya . If you are really sorry for what you have done to me, then please don't repeat it to Hiya. She is just a child who has fantasised her whole world around you at the moment she got to know that you are her father. Don't dishearten her. She will not be able to bear her.

Raghav : Her world will get crashed at the moment when she will get to know about my truth. She will hate me when she will get to know that I betrayed her mother. I am a very bad person. I am not worthy of her love. She is child now and she will forget about me very soon. I will never come again in your and Hiya's life.

Kalpana : Hiya will never forget u. You are her father. She loves u and will always love u. She will never judge u on the things which happened between us.

Raghav : will u ever be able to forgive me Kalpana ?

Kalpana : I had forgiven you Raghav at the very moment I had seen your true love and care for Hiya. I am forgiving you for everything from my heart.

Raghav is shocked. He did not know what to feel or what to say. He should feel happy that finally he has been forgiven or he should feel sad that Kalpana has forgiven him only for hiya's sake.

Kalpana thinks that maybe jiya, Pakhi , aai everyone is right. You were really sorry for what you had done to me. I was also at fault as I trusted u blindly. May be I will be able to forgive myself if I forgive u. I will not let Hiya bear the consequence of our past.

Kalpana extends her hand to Raghav : Friends again?
