Chap 15 :
At Park, Hiya and Neel hide the dress and earring in their bag . Driver come to pick them. After
reaching home, They are astonished as they found their room locked from inside. They come to their aaji and ask about it.
Kamla : Your mumma at home.
Hiya and neel together : what?
Their mother does not come home before 6.30 pm.It is just 4 pm. Kamla herself is shocked when she saw Kalpana coming home so soon. But she did not question her as she found her numb and tensed. Kamla knows she is struggling with herself. she remembers Vittal and self thinks ' Hope you were here. only you can handle her this time.'
Kamla remembers previous incidents:
Kalpana was in goa with her friends and she suddenly received a call from her. she was shocked as she was not expecting any call from her daughter because of their tensed relationship. Although kalapana was never vocal about anything, She treated her and respected her as her aai but she knew there was something dead in her heart for her. Their relation, respect and closeness were for namesake only or for her baba's sake. Kalpana never wanted to disappoint her baba and today she also does not want to disappoint him. and she heard her daughter's painful voice in phone - Her fisrt line was 'I can't tell this to baba. So I am telling u. You are his wife. Can u tell me what is right and wrong? and she told her about her pregnancy. Kamla was hell shocked to know it, she did not know what to say.Her ears were ringing with her voice - ' I can't tell this to baba so I am telling u.' She felt the pain of her daughter which was buried in her heart so deep and which was hid by her smile till that day. That moment she decided to support her daughter whom she had neglected enough as she always used to believe that she
is strong. And she told her daughter to take decision from her heart, her family would always support her.
She remembers when Kalpana met her, Vittal and Pakya after that phone call, she was expecting that Kalpana would cry her heart hugging her. But she was wrong, Kalpana ran to her baba and cried her heart to him without speaking a single word. That day she realised that she was terribly failed as Kalpana's mother. Her love for Kalpana was never less than her love for Pakhi. But she always failed to express it.May be she was partial to Pakhi as she was not born of her womb and people would have questioned her love for Pakhi if she had chosen Kalpana over Pakhi. and in her this fear and in he desire of being great, she hurt her Kalpana numerous times. When Kamla decided to move with Kalpana and her family to a new location, Kalpana's eyes showed gratitude for her. Vittal's eyes silently questioned her - ' will u able to leave Pakhi behind' and Kamla uttered only these words - ' Till today Pakhi needed me but Now my Kalpi needs me'.
She remembers the day when Rahul handed a three month old Neel to Kalpana after Purba's accident. and the day neel called Kalpana ' Mee ' first time, Kalpana came to Kamla and gave her a tight hug happily - 'Aai, today I know what is your relationship with Pakhi'.That day vittal gave a reassuring smile to Kamla. But her kalpana never did the same mistake that she did. She never differentiated between Hiya and Neel. And on neel's 5th birthday, she decided to tell the truth to Neel and she wept silently. Kamla heard her talking to vittal : ' Baba, I love purba and Rahul. I want Purba to get well soon. I want purba, Rahul to start their family with my Neel.But I can't live without Neel.Am I becoming selfish?'Vittal reassured her that she was not selfish. She was just simple human being with all emotions.But she should not let her negative emotions win over her positives. She should tell truth to Neel. Would she be able to look into eyes of Purba if she did not tell Neel about Purba. and would she be able to meet Neel's eyes when he got to know the truth. and Kalpana told truth to Neel. Kamla noticed the fear of losing Neel in Kalpana's eyes when she was telling him truth.
She remembers the day when vittal took her last breath and before that he took promise from Kalpana to tell truth to Raghav and Hiya. His last words were - ' Hiya needs his father, Kalpana. Don't dprive her from that love. I know u are a perfect mother and U will take great care of Hiya and Neel but you can't replace the place of Hiya's father like I could not take your mom's place in your heart. Don't lie to yourself Kalpana, U always longed for ur mother's love. You can't hide anything from me. I don't know how is Raghav now and what will be his decision. but I still believe that he and hiya both deserve the truth.' Kalpana reassured Vittal that she would always choose right path.But Kamla had seen Kalpana struggling very hard to fulfill her baba's wish without her baba being beside her.
Now she and Kalpana shares a mother daughter relationship in true sense but Vittal is always right father is a father and mother is a mother. Vittal was not able to take her place in Kalpana's heart and she can't take Vittal's place in Kalpana's life.
Kamla is thinking all this when Hiya and neel's voice jerk her from her thought.
Hiya : what are u thinking aaji? and why did mumma come early.
Kamla : I don't know. Maybe your mumma need rest.
Neel : what happens to mee.
Suddenly they hear Kalpana's voice : Nothing happened to me. I am early so can I spend some time with u.
Hiya and Neel hug their mother. Kalpana, hiya and neel watch cartoon movie with their evening time snacks and Kalpana forgets everything else with her children.
on the other hand , Raghav is busy in drinking remembering her meeting with Kalpana and Chahat Naa Hiya. Hiya is so lucky for him. After meeting her, He met his Kalpana today. His Kalpana, he smiled sadly.
Next day,
Kalpana wakes up and does not find Hiya and Neel beside her. She gets up and freshen up. She comes downstairs and sees Hiya and Neel arranging dining table and her aai, dada and bhabhi watching them with amused expression. Kalpana comes near dining table and finds brother sister duo making sandwich for her.
Kalpana : What are u doing ?
Hiya : Mumma please sit.
Kalpana : You both sit. I am making sandwiches for both of u.
Neel : No mee, we want to make it for u.
They draw a smiley on the sandwich and gives Kalpana to eat wishing her Happy mother's day. Kalpana is touched by their gesture. Hiya and Neel presents her the dress and earring.
Kalpana is overwhelmed with emotions and hug them.
Hiya : Mumma be ready at 7.30 pm wearing this dress. We will take u out for dinner. Please be ready on time.
Kalpana : ok.
Neel : I am going to call Papa to join us for dinner.
Kalpana : Ok. Sweet heart.
Kalpana,pakya and amrita wish Kamla Happy Mother's day. At the same moment, kamla receives a call and her joy seems no bound. Pakya and Kalpana know that it is Pakhi's call. They had understood and accepted the relationship between their aai and Pakhi.
In Singhania Mansion,
Sammy is surprised knowing that Kalpana is in Mumbai. He self thinks Pakhi knew about it but she did not tell me.
He remembers the past incident.
Flashback.
8 years ago , after Trisha's birth.
Pakhi is busy talking to her Kamla Ma while Sammy comes to their room and Pakhi cuts the call and deletes her call history.
Sammy : I know u are talking to Kamla Ma. I have not forbidden u to talk to Kamla Ma. Then why did u cut the call?
Pakhi : Because I don't have answers of ur next questions.
Sammy : Don't lie. You do have answers but you don't want to give it.
Pakhi : I am not lieing but you will not believe me and why am I trying to make you believe? Think what you want to think.
Pakhi is trying to live from there when Sammy pulls her holding her arm.
Pakhi : Leave me Sammy.
Sammy : Don't tell lie, Pakhi. You know where is kalpana and Kamla Ma.
Pakhi's face fell. She always knew Kamla Ma's whereabouts but She had promised Kamla Ma that she will not disclose it to anyone. Pakhi is frustrated telling lies to Sammy.
Pakhi yells : Ok. I always knew about Kalpana and Kamla Ma.You and Raghav have given her enough pain.Now just stay away from her.
Sammy's face fall : You know everything . How can u accuse me and Raghav like that?
Pakhi : I am not judging u and Raghav but Kamla Ma never wanted you both to know their whereabouts and I can't betray her.
Sammy : Is Kamla ma more important for u , Pakhi, more than me?
Pakhi : don't compare two relations, sammy. you are my husband, my love but she is my mother. please leave them alone. Kalpana had suffered enough becoz of your one mistake. Please let her live in peace.Please, Sammy. I know u care for Raghav .I know reason behind your act. I can see penance in your and raghav's eyes but it is also truth that you both had hurt her. Give her some time.
Sammy : how much time will she need to forgive us. Everything happened two years ago.
Pakhi : maybe some months or some years or maybe never.But If u really want her forgiveness, please leave her alone.
Saying so, Pakhi leaves from there.
Flashback -end
Sammy never dare to search for Kalpana after his encounter with Pakhi. Sammy self thinks - 'What Kalpana is doing here? why did she come back after so many years?
Trisha's voice breaks his chain of thoughts.
Trisha : Dad, We will go for dinner tonight?
Sammy looks at her blankly.
Trisha : Today is mother's day. I did not wish mom till now. I will give her surprise.
Sammy : Ok, Sweetheart. and where is your boyfriend?
But before sammy's question can complete, they heard Raghav shouting on one servant. Trisha and Sammy rush to Raghav's room.
Trisha and sammy see the floor of Raghav's room is covered with tiny pieces of abacus and raghav is yelling on servant : Don't you have eyes? Didn't you see it? I have asked everyone not to touch my things. How dare u ? just get out from here. you are fired?
Pakhi and Gouri also reached there. pakhi and sammy know Abacus's importance for Raghav and Gouri thinks that he still cares for his father's gift. They don't say anything to Raghav.
Servant is about to go when Trisha yells : 'Boyfriend how can u hurt anyone for a small non living thing?'
Sammy : Don't talk between Trisha. Go to your room. This abacus holds memories.
Trisha ignores her dad: Wah boyfriend , a non living thing is more important for u than a living person.
Raghav in anger : I am sorry ramu , go to your work. Saying so, he hits his hand to wall. His hands start bleeding.
Gouri and sammy panic. Pakhi goes to get first aid box. Trisha takes first aid box from Pakhi's hand and starts applying medicine on Raghav's wound. Tears are streaming from her eyes.
Trisha : I am sorry boyfriend. I did not mean to hurt u.
Raghav's anger melts seeing tears in Trisha's eyes.
Raghav : You go. your dad will bandage my wound. He is doing this from last 23 years.
Sammy bandages Raghav's wounds looking at Trisha and raghav is also staring Trisha. They remember -'Trisha's tears were always suffice to make them weak. She always used to blackmail them to teach a lesson using her tears.'
The day went quite uneventful.
At 7.30 pm in Kalpana's home.
Hiya and Neel are shouting : Mumaa please come soon. we are late.
Kalpana comes downstairs wearing royal blue dress and silver earring. She is looking Beautiful.
Amrita : Di, you are looking so good. No one will believe that you are a mother of two children.
Kalpana(blushes) : oh god bhabhi, please stop this over the top praises. You are really Samrat
s sister.
Kamla : Kalpana, you are really looking good. Blue color suits u most.
Hiya : aaji, blue suits mumma as it is my favorite color.
Kalpana : aai, bhabhi you also come with us.
Amrita : Di, I am not feeling like go.
Kalpana looks at Kamla.
Kamla : I have to take care of amrita. your dada is as usual late.
Kalpana : Ok, aai, we are leaving. Rahul is waiting for us.
In Singhania Mansion,
Trisha irritates Pakhi wishing Happy mother's day to Sammy.Pakhi feels jealous. Pakhi is about to leave when Trisha hugs her .
Trisha : Mom, happy mothers day. I love u. Now get ready.
Pakhi hugs her daughter tightly.
Gouri is angry on Raghav for hurting himself. Raghav wishes her Happy mother's day but gouri is adamant.
Pakhi comes there : Aunty, please get ready. we are going for dinner. Tri had planned it. She will feel bad if u don't come. And now don't be angry on Raghav. He will never change.
Gouri : Why don't u all make him understand that hurting himself is not solution of anything.
Pakhi does not know what to say : Aunty. Please forgive him for Trisha's sake and join us.
Hearing Trisha's Name, Gouri's anger melts down. Raghav mutters a silent Thanks to Pakhi.
Kalpana comes to Golden Inn Restaurant with Rahul, neel and hiya after meeting Purba in hospital. They occupy a table for 4 being unaware of the fact that very next table of them is occupied by Mr. Singhania and mr. raizada's family. The restaurant is posh one and dimly lit. Everyone are talking and laughing in whispers. Kalpana enjoys a lot after a long time. Hiya and neel had made her today. She is luckiest mother on earth. After finishing their dinner, kalpana, Rahul, hiya and neel leaves from the restaurant. Raghav is still in the restaurant. Kalpana is about to sit in the car when She remembers she forgot her purse on the table only. she asks Rahul to wait for a minute and rushes into the restaurant. Kalpana sees her purse on the table and picks it. She is about to turn and collides with a waiter who is carrying food. The food falls from waiter's hand creating a thug sound. All eyes turn to the Kalpana.
Raghav, Sammy and Pakhi are shocked to see Kalpana there. The restaurant's manager comes there and asks the waiter to ask apology from Kalpan. Kalpana is shocked and she says : It is not his mistake. I am sorry. I will pay for the spoiled food.
Manager : No Mam, It is his mistake only. He will ask sorry from u. and don't worry about money. we will cut from his salary.
Kalpana is angry : I had said that it is my mistake. Why are u forcing an innocent to ask sorry from me. People like u are so cheap. I will complain to ur boss about your attitude.
Manager. I am sorry, mam.
waiter : Thanks Mam.
Gouri, pakhi, raghav and Sammy are listening everything. Pakhi wants to talk to Kalpana but does not know what to say. Kalpana is about to leave when she notices Raghav, sammy and Pakhi. Pakhi goes to her and greets her.
Pakhi : how are u Kalpana?
Kalpana : I am fine. Pakhi. and how r u ?
Pakhi : me fine.
Raghav, Sammy, Trisha and Gouri come there.
Kalpana keeps her calm as she know that she is in mumbai and she have to face them today or tomorrow.
Raghav had already met Kalpana and Sammy is already aware of her presence in mumbai. They are surprised but they do not show their surprise infront of Gouri.
Gouri : Pakhi, do you know Kalpana?
Kalpana looks at pakhi questioningly.
Pakhi : yes, aunty. She is my childhood friend.
Gouri is about to say something, Trisha intervens.
Trisha : Your childhood friend, mom but you never mentioned this name.
Kalpana looks at pakhi questioningly.
Pakhi : Gouri aunty is Raghav's mother and hitting trisha softly on her head, Trisha is my daughter.
Kalpana wishes Gouri and sit on her knees and caresses trishas face.
Kalpana : Trisha, you are exactly like your name.
Trisha : Thanx masi.
Kalpana : masi.
Trisha : u r mom's friend. so you are my masi.
Suddenly Neel comes there : Mee, papa and di are waiting for you. lets go.
This time pakhi's eyes question Kalpana.
before kalpana can speak.
Neel : Hey, trisha, you are also here to clebrate Mother's day. then looks at Kalpana : mee, she is my and di's new friend. Now lets go mee. Papa and di are vey angry on u.Will talk to u later Trisha.
Seeing Neel with Kalpana, Raghav who is busy in staring Kalpana's face only looks at her carefully. she is wearing the dress and earring he had choosen for her. and he is right. she is looking gorgeous in the dress. But she is not his Kalpana. she is someone else's wife. she is mother of Hiya and Neel. Now he can understand Why he always get pulled toward Hiya. Hiya is Kalpana's daughter.
Kalpana wishes Pakhi and Gouri and leaves with Neel. kalpana sighs a breath of relief after leaving the restaurant . She is unaware of the fact that she has just created storm in Raghav's life.only Neel's voice is ringing in Raghav's ear : Mee, papa and di are waiting for you. Raghav goes to the bar of restaurant and asks for a drink. Gouri is shocked to see Raghav like this. He is alright some times before and now he is distraught,angry. Pakhi and sammy do not say a single word. Sammy sends Gouri, Pakhi and Trisha home and sits beside Raghav who is drinking peg after peg. Sammy can't bear anymore and drags Raghav from there and pushes him in the car and drives off. Raghav loses his consciousness in the car.

I hate kamla's character in EMA. I had supported her till engagement day as I always thought she chooses
Pakhi over Kalpana as Pakhi is not her own daughter and she is afraid that her love for Pakhi will be questioned. But after that her character had gone to drains. I was hoping that CVs will show her realization that how much she is unfair to Kalpana. But alas, They are showing her more delusional. In my ss, kamla is a good mother who had done some mistakes and she is sorry for it. Her love for Pakhi is still intact.
Neel in Kalpana's life to make her realise a mother-child relation is above womb, so that she can
understand Kamla and pakhi's relation.
Pakhi and trisha's cute fights to show her that she is unfair to her mother. Maybe her mother and father are guilty of sin but they are still her parents who love her.They are getting punished for their deeds.
