Chap 14:
Kalpana is in Mumbai to meet Raghav and tell him truth about their daughter but She did not try to meet him till now. She had said Rahul that she would not judge Raghav as father but She is not sure about this herself. Will Raghav be a good father for Chahat? Will Chahat start loving his father more? Will She be able to share her Chahat's love with someone else? What happen if Raghav tries to snatch her daughter ? Her insecurities and fear are growing day by day. She remembers how much she was hurt when She told Swapnil truth about his parents. She wants purba to get well soon but she is afraid that Neel will leave her that day. She is selfish when it comes to her children. Hiya and Neel are her life. she can't imagine her life without them.
Next day.
Kalpana drops Neel and hiya to their school and her car crosses Sammy and Raghav's car. But they don't see each other. Sammy and Raghav drop Trisha to school and about to leave when Raghav notices Chahat. He tells sammy to stop the car and comes down from car. He goes to meet Chahat. He does not know but something is there that pulls him towards Chahat. There is uncanny similarity between both of them. She is as stubborn as him. She is as reluctant as him to make new relations. Her eyes say that there is something missing in her life. she is longing for something in her life like he is longing for Kalpana's forgiveness .
Raghav goes near to Chahat. He wants to talk to her but does not find words to talk. He is about to leave when Chahat's voice stops him.
Chahat : Mr. Singhania, what r u doing here.
Raghav : Nothing Ms. Chahat, I am here to drop Trisha.
Chahat : If u don't mind, can I ask u something?
Raghav : Yah. sure.
Chahat : Why does Trisha call u boyfriend.
Raghav : Becoz I am a boy and I am her friend.
Chahat starts laughing.
Raghav : will u be my friend Miss chahat?
Chahat : I don't make friends so soon but as you are Trisha's friend, I can think about it.
Chahat touches her cheek with finger repeatedly and Says : Ok, we are friends.
Raghav : Thanks for accepting my friendship.
Chahat : Your welcome, Mr. Singhania.
Sammy who is listening Raghav's conversation with Chahat confronts him : Raghav, Gouri aunty is right. I have also noticed that you became restless whenever Chahat is around u?
Raghav : I don't know Sammy But I found myself in her. She is so like me yet she is different from me and Her eyes are just like Kalpana's. she carries my stubbornness and Kalpana's attitude. If my child would have been alive,he/she would be like her only.
Sammy : Raghav, forget the past. Please start ur life afresh. I can't see u in pain.
Raghav : I had spoiled Kalpana's life. I had played with her emotions. she loved me and believed me and I took advantage of her. The moment I had seen her coming out of OT, I was angry on her and then I saw her distraught. I realised how much I had hurt her that she was forced to take that drastice step. I had killed her innocense, her trust, her love. I never tried to find her as I am always afraid to face her. The mother and woman in her will never forgive me, I know that. But I still longs for her forgiveness.
Sammy : I know you have done a grave mistake But you still deserve a chance to be happy.
Raghav : I am happy, Sammy. I have learned to be happy from Kalpana only. I hope she is happy where ever she is.
Sammy : Raghav, Really love changes the man completely. I know how much you were happy when you heard about Kalpana's pregnancy But Kalpana aborted the child. Still you did not accuse her for anything. You are accusing yourself from last 10 years for whatever happened .
Raghav : Kalpana was not at fault. My child had to suffer becoz of my sins only.
Sammy does not know what to say. He can argue over it but he does not want to reminsce Raghav's past.
Raghav and Sammy reach the office and they discuss about the property which KVY industry want to buy.
Sammy : I thought you are not interested to sell it.
Raghav : I am still not interested to sell it. I want to donate it to the NGO 'Humrahi'
Sammy : NGo?
Raghav : Yes CEO of KVY Industry is also founder of this NGO and she wants to build a college on it.
Sammy : That is really a good work. r u sure she does not want to use it for any business purpose.
Raghav : I have heard that this lady is trustworthy and her NGO has indulged in many social activities. Mom is also telling that she is also heard of this NGo.
Sammy : Ok. I will fix ur meeting with her.
Raghav : Thanx. But make sure I want to meet her in her NGO only.
In KVY Industries,
Kalpana's PA inform her that owner of the property wants to meet her in her NGO.
Kalpana : Ok, By the way you met him.
Mrs. sharma : Yes Mam.
Kalpana : Mrs. sharma, pls call me Kalpana.
Mrs. Kalpana : Ok, Mam..I mean Kalpana.
Kalpana : tell me about him.
As mrs. Sharma is about to Speak, Kalpana receives call from her NGO that some anti social elements are troubling NGO people. She rushes to NGO office.
Kalpana reach there and find some goon type people harassing an young girl and other associates in the office. Kalpana remembers the girl has came to take help from their NGO as She was tortured by her in laws. Kalpana helped her and give her a job in the NGO.
The girl : Di, My in laws had sent them to torture me. one of them is my brother in law.
Kalpana screams at top of her voice : Please stop it. I have informed police and they will reach here any moment.
A goon type man comes closer to her : You are responsible for everything. My parents had to suffer becoz of u. What do you think of yourself. I will teach u such a lesson that you will never forget it.and the man tries to hit Kalpana but Kalpana holds her hand and hits him with her leg. a fight ensures between NGO people and goons. suddenly they hear a car's sound but it is not sound of police van. Goonsare about to win against the NGO workers as they are using hockey sticks and cricket bats to hit.The goon is about to hit Kalpana with hockey stick and Kalpana closes her eyes in fear. Raghav enters into NGO office. He does not see Kalpana but he sees some goons are troubling NGO people and he starts to beat them black and blue. The man who is about to hit Kalpana goes to help his friends. Kalpana opens her eyes and sees the back of Raghav who is fighting with the goons. At the moment police comes and takes the goons with them. NGO people surrounds Raghav and thanks him for his help. Kalpana could not
see him as he is surrounded by people. Raghav tells them that he is there to talk about property near Singhania chawl. An associate points her finger to Kalpana and Raghav turns to her.
Raghav is shocked to see Kalpana after 10 years. He does not know how to react. He looks at her. She look exactly like she used to look before 10 years. Her eyes still have the same depth, same intense gaze. Raghav does not know what to say. He is meeting his life after 10 years. He wants to ask her how is she. He wants to hug her tightly but then He notices Kalpana's face. Her face is expressionless. Her face does not show any sign of knowing him. Though Raghav always know that Kalpana will not forgive him, a part of his heart still craves for her forgiveness, her love.
Other-side, Kalpana's inner turmoil is about to betray her facade but she holds herself. Raghav's
presence invokes a fear in her heart. Though she is here to tell Raghav truth about Hiya, she is still not ready for it. She is afraid that she will lose her daughter to Raghav as it is said that girls
always love father more then mother. She just knows only one thing that she is standing in front of father of her daughter.
Raghav is staring Kalpana intensely when Kalpana's voice breaks his trance. Kalpana is calm and composed. Though she is not ready to meet Raghav so soon, She handles herself gracefully.
Kalpana: Mr. Singhania what are u doing here?
Kalpana utters those words with great effort but Raghav could not hold herself back.
Raghav : Kalpana, how are u ? It is nice to see u after so many years.
Raghav's voice is so passionate that a stupid can figure out his feelings for Kalpana. everybody stares at them.
Kalpana : Mr. singhania, I think you are here for work. We can discuss the work on my desk.
Raghav : ya sure.
Kalpana leads Raghav to her desk.They both sit .
Kalpana : Now tell me Mr. Singhaniya . What are u doing here?
Raghav : Kalpana , first tell me how r u ? How is kamlaMa.
Kalpana : I am fine and aai is alright. I am not here to discuss my personal life. So, please don't
waste my time.
Raghav : I am sorry. I could not control myself.
Kalpana : People are staring us. so, Keep ur voice down.
Raghav hands over her the property paper. Kalpana checks it and opens a checkbook.
Kalpana : how much money do you want for this property?
Raghav : Kalpana it is a donation from my side.
Kalpana : strange. Mr. Singhania and donation. I hope you did not have any hidden agenda behind it. Thanks for your cooperation.
Raghav is hurt but says : it is my pleasure to help u all in a great work.
Saying so, Raghav leaves from there as he does not have any strength to see Kalpana's indifference toward him. Her indifference is killing him every moment. Raghav self thinks please hit me Kalpana for what I had done to u. Please hate me but don't torture me with ur silence and indifference. I will not be able to bear it.
Raghav comes to park and sits on the grass. It is the same Park where Kalpana came with him on their first date. Raghav remembers his moment with Kalpana. He was stupid enough to think that he was pretending to love Kalpana. But was not he always in love with Kalpana. Suddenly Raghav notices Chahat there. She is sitting on a bench and she is looking sad. Raghav goes near to Chahat and sits there.
Raghav : What are u doing here Chahat. You should be in school.
Chahat looks at him : Mr. Singhania.
Raghav senses sadness in her voice.
Raghav (affectionately) : what happens to u? you can tell me I am your friend.
Chahat : Tomorrow is mother's day. Me and neel want to plan a surprise for mom. Mamu promised us that he would help us in shopping. But He got stuck in work.
Raghav : Oh ..Can I help u?
Chahat : will u take me and neel for shopping?
Raghav : shopping?
Chahat makes a puppy face and Raghav accepts to help chahat and neel in shopping.
Raghav takes Chahat and neel for shopping.
At Mall,
Chahat and Neel starts checking dresses for their mother. Raghav is getting bored. He self thinks I hate shopping but why can't I deny to help chahat.
Chahat drags Raghav to the dresses.
Chahat : Mr. Singhania , Please help us.
Raghav starts to check out dresses. suddenly he sees a royal blue dress with silver work and he picks it out. Raghav is thinking about Kalpana when he picks out this dress.
Neel notices the dress on Raghav's hand.
Neel : Di, look. this dress is so beautifull.
Chahat : wah.. its so cute. Mom will love it. Thanx Mr. Singhania.
Raghav self thinks ' I have chosen this dress for Kalpana. She always look good in blue. But I can't give it to her. may be this dress will bring smile on the face of Chahat and Neel's mother.'
Raghav is about to give dress to Chahat.
Chahat : Dont you know Mr. Singhania that always boys have to carry things when girls shop. It makes them gentleman. Mamu always carry mami's shopping bags.
Raghav is amused to hear it. He laughs.
Raghav : Oh Sorry, Miss Chahat. I will carry this for u.
Chahat: Your choice is same as mine. I would have picked it if i have seen it before u. Will u help us in choosing earring pair for mumma.
Raghav starts helping them in choosing earrings. His eyes stuck on a simple and elegant silver earring. He remembers his first outing with Kalpana when he took Kalpana for shopping. Kalpana loves simple and elegant things.
Raghav shows the earring to Chahat and neel.
Chahat : Mr. Singhania, It is so good. Mumma will love it. I think you know my mumma very well. Now lets go to payment counter.
At payment Counter, Chahat and Neel take out their savings from the bag and pay for the things. They are saving this money from quite a long time. Raghav notices both of them.He is envying the proud parents of chahat and neel. A sadness grips him. He is the most unlucky person on earth. He had grown up without his parents.Now He is living life without his love.
Raghav takes Chahat and neel to ice cream parlor for a treat. Chahat and neel order icecreams for them and Raghav.
Raghav : I don't like ice cream.
Chahat : you must try ice cream of my choice and you will love it. Believe me, Mr. singhania.
Raghav is shocked as Chahat ordered his favorite flavor kesar pista.
After ice cream treat. Ragha drops them to Park and about to start his car when Chahat asks him to come out of his car. Raghav comes out of his car. Chahat gestures him to sit down and Raghav sits down.
Chahat hugs him and says : Thanks, Mr. singhania. you are good. You can call me Hiya.My family and friends call me by this name.
Raghav : Hiya..
Chahat : Bye, Mr. Singhania.
Raghav smiles. but after a moment, his smile disappears.He is faced with reality of his life. Kalpana is not in his life. she does not care about him. His child died becoz of him. Chahat is not his daughter. these abstract thoughts hover his mind. He starts driving his car in full speed.He comes home and goes to bar. He starts drinking.
Other side,
after coming from NGO, Kalpana locks herself in room. Hiya needs her father. Raghav deserves truth but what about her. will she able to share Hiya's love with someone else? . she had seen Raghav today.He has changed a lot. He is a better human being today. One corner of her heart starts believing that Raghav will prove a good father but She can't share her daughter's love with anyone.Her fears and insecurities are not allowing her to tell truth to Raghav.
She prays : God, Please help me like every time. I have to fulfill baba's last wish. I know Hiya wants to know about her father. Please give me strength to tell truth to Raghav and Hiya.

Kalpana is ready to give a chance to Raghav. hiya's father. But can Raghav be happy with this only? Does he only want his child? Does not he want Kalpana's forgiveness and love. Mother in her may forgive him but will Woman in her will be able to forgive Raghav who betrayed an innocent girl so badly? What will be Sammy's reaction knowing that Pakhi is always aware of hiya and she always meets her parents in jail?
