CHAPTER 23: THE AFTERNOON PRESENTATION

Kalpi was going through the files and Pakhi was busy making the notes that were required for the meeting. It was indeed a very important meeting for Singhania constructions. Pakhi excused herself and went to prepare the lunch while Kalpi sat with files all around her and hair tied up in a messy bun. That is how Savitri found her when she happened to pass by the room. Savitri giggled seeing her and went towards the kitchen. There she saw another one hopping from one end to another trying to prepapre the lunch as soon as possible. Indeed she had two beautiful clowns as daughter-in-laws when it came to work. She tried helping Pakhi in the kitchen but Pakhi did not even let her enter the kitchen. Thus she went and sat on the couch.

Kalpi came down to see if Pakhi needed some help. But Pakhi asked her not to take stress and complete her work "Kalpi tu chinta mat kar aur apna kaam araam se kar. Kitchen ko tu mujhpar chod de." Kalpi smiled and turned to leave. That is when she saw Savitri on the couch smiling widely at her "Kya baat hai maa? Aaj aap mujhe dekh kar itna muskura kyun rahi hain? Kya khichdi pak rahi hai aapke dimaag mein?" Savitri grinned like a child and said "Kalpi ...vo mai soch rahi thi ki mai...aaj main khaane mein thoda sa bilkul thoda haan achaar le sakti hoon kya?" Kalpi's eyes widened and Pakhi came out from the kitchen with mouth open. Kalpi looked at Pakhi and then said "Pakhi tune achaar ki bottles ka kya kiya? Unhe upar waale cupboard mein rakha hai kya?" Pakhi nodded and said "Haan haan Kalpi maine achaar ki bottles upar waale cupboard mein rakh ke lock kar diya hai aur chaabi ...mujhe yaad nahi kahan hai." Savitri understood that she would not get any achaar. She made a puppy dog face but it did not work on her daughter-in-laws. Both went back to their work and Savitri sat there making faces.

Kalpi needed some reference from an old project and went to the store file shelf. She tried pulling out one file but ended up falling on a hill of files. She gritted her teeth and said "Yeh Raghav aur Sammy bhi na. Kya haal bana rakha hai shelf ka. Ek file nikalo toh saari ki saari sar pe aa gairti hai. Aaj toh inn dono ki khair nahi." She got up and took out the file she needed and starts putting the rest of the files in place. That is when her eyes caught something familiar. It was the "Alibaugh project file." She smiled looking at the file and opened it. It was her first project. Her first presentation. She remembered how she saved the project for Singhania constructions and even proved her loyalty. She had tears in her eyes when she remembered the happenings after she joined the office. She smiled thinking that if she did not join Raghav's office then how on earth would she understand her feelings for him. She remembered all her cute fights and bickering with Raghav and also let out a slight laugh thinking about his confused behavior around her "Bilkul buddhu hain Raghav. Pyar lo lekar bhi itne confused rehetey the..hahah. I love you Raghav." She din't even notice when a smile crept on her face thinking about Raghav.
