The tale behind this hatred started in their college. Raghav was one of the most popular boys, nearly all girls would die to go on a single date with him.Raghav always let them down by not speaking more than a few words to any girl except Kalpana. This got Kalpana many jealous and resentful classmates. But Raghav or Kalpana never thought of each other in that way - Kalpi' had always been Raghav's best friend only. It became clear when Raghav started dating another girl - Pakhi. She was an old acquaintance of Kalpi, and she was the one to introduce them when Pakhi joined the college. They both fell for each other and started dating. But their relationship was not all lovey-dovey. Problems emerged due to Kalpi and Raghav's closeness. Even if Kalpi would have left them alone to give them privacy, Raghav never let her. He couldn't spend a moment without his best friend by his side, but he never realised how much insecure it made Pakhi. The taunts from the other jealous girls of the college acted as fuel to the fire. While Kalpi had the brains to turn a deaf ear, Pakhi was weak at heart. She took everything seriously and began doubting them. The hell broke loose when she confronted Kalpi. Kalpi, knowing her nature, was calm at first, but seeing her accuse Raghav she couldn't take it anymore. She lost her patience and yelled at her.
"Yes, of course, I am in love with Raghav. And no wonder, he, too, loves me more than the world. But why do you care? You don't love him! If you truly loved him, you wouldn't have doubted him like that! You should know better than taking those bimboos seriously!"
And saying that she stormed away at top speed. Pakhi also left, heartbroken. Kalpi had said it sarcastically, to make her realise her folly, but it seemed to have the opposite effect. She had taken the part about Raghav and Kalpi loving each other seriously, and ignored the rest. This was the confirmation for her doubts.
Unknown to them, Raghav had heard the whole conversation.
Raghav knew he'd have to clear the whole lot of doubts the next day. He decided he'll call both Kalpi and Pakhi to the cafeteria and sort everything out. Little did he know nothing of the sort would be possible anymore.
The next morning, Pakhi was nowhere to be seen. She wasn't answering her phone, and seemed to have had locked herself in her hostel room. When she did not open on anyone's insistence, the lock was forced, and the scene that followed was one that bore a mark in everyone's lives.
Pakhi was found dead in her room, a suicide note lying next to her. It contained just a few words -
"I never expected this from you... I can't take it anymore..."
Raghav was unable to recover from the trauma. He stopped going to college and stayed shut in his room all day. He didn't talk to anyone, not even Kalpana. Kalpana tried a lot, calling him day in and day out, going to his house atleast thrice every day, but to no avail. Raghav didn't even show her his face after the incident. After a few days, Kalpana also decided to quit. She knew her words were the reason for Pakhi's death, and Raghav might never forgive her, but that didn't give her the ability to bear it. She would rather have had it if Raghav straightaway blamed her, shouted on her, than the silence, which kept killing her every moment. She had a hunch that this was the end of their friendship, which got stronger day by day.
After one month, full one month of silence, Raghav called her to meet at their regular meeting place - the beach. Kalpana went there to find a broken man sitting there, waiting for her. No, it couldn't be... it couldn't be, but it was indeed Raghav. Seeing his condition, Kalpi couldn't control herself. Tears and sobs escaped from her as she went and sat down next to him. Raghav turned on hearing her sobs, and saw her cry even more. She couldn't see those eyes, the eyes which had had the most cheerful and optimistic air about them, the eyes which had changed to contain only pain in them. Raghav couldn't say or do anything for a moment, but then shushed her and asked her to listen to him. He was unable to say much, he simply stuttered, "Whatever happened... is a big blow... for me. But it will never come between us... nothing can overpower our friendship... not even love..." Kalpi couldn't believe her ears. He wasn't going to end their friendship. She was relieved beyond words and just hugged him. When she was able to speak again, she just started crying again and apologised repeatedly. She was the one responsible for Pakhi's death and his condition.

Once Raghav was alone in his room, he let himself breakdown. He couldn't bear the pain enough to act anymore. How could he speak so sweetly to the one who caused his love to commit suicide? How could he, knowing exactly what lies she had told Pakhi, say that it was not her fault? How could he forgive her knowing that she had no remorse on what she had done? And seeing the act she put up today, his decision of revenge became even stronger. Oh, what if she had just known that he has seen her true face...

Few days after the incident, Raghav going to talk to Kalpi, deciding she had not done anything intentionally and he'll forgive her. He feels she'll be as traumatised by what has happened and will be feeling guilty. He sees her downstairs from a balcony, and is shocked to find her laughing and chatting to someone as if nothing had happened.

He's really angry and hurt. He didn't just lose his love, he also lost his best friend. He will get solace only if he avenges his Pakhi's death and the betrayal to him by Kalpana. For his masterplan to work, he needs to stay friends with Kalpi. One day she will be the one to experience all the pain she has caused to Pakhi and him.
PS - This is still the explanation part of the hatred. The feelings change in the next part (as the anger has cooled down to an extent)
