Kalpana is with one of the male guest again, Raghav remarks. He is observing her from the back of the party whilst entertaining a guest who's blabbering about something that he does not care about. It's always happening; a male guest introduces himself when he looks away and when Raghav glances at her, they are touching her arm or looking at her with big eyes. They are standing with both of their shoulders pointed in her direction, signaling their utmost attention is given to her. They all look so innocent, like wooing Kalpana is their biggest problem in life.
Raghav scoffs. It will be if they don't back off, he thinks angrily as the guest reaches over to take the empty wine glass from Kalpana's hands. His hand linger for a while and Raghav is proud to see her pull her hands away discreetly. He takes a glance at the clock above the entrance of the front doors-11:00 pm.
Swiftly and confidently, he walks to the front of the party. With long strides, he is next to Kalpana in moments. She looks delighted to see him. Immediately, she wraps her arms around his neck and pulls him in for an affectionate hug. He throws a withering glare at the guest who is now awkwardly looking away.
''Good evening, Mr. Singhania,'' the man bows and walks away.
Raghav continues to look angry. Kalpana hits him lightly and snickers, ''You look like you're really mad. He's hardly a threat to you.''
Kalpana starts drinking some wine that one of the guest kindly offered her when he starts, ''I don't like it when men touch you. Especially men that look like they just came out of their mother's basement. I don't like it when they try to woo you with their innocence and purity. It's disgusting.''
Kalpana blinks. She wasn't quite expecting something so harsh. She pats his arm and leans over to peck him on the mouth. She tastes the scowl on his lips and frowns. To reassure him, she makes eye contact and presses a hand to his cheek.
''It's always been you, Raghav.''
