Coffee with Cockroach

Ajay Gehi has lost his appetite for coffee ever since he was served a cockroach in his coffee cup at a popular coffee joint. When he complained, he was offered a 20 per cent discount on his wife's coffee!

The other day, Ajay Gehi found a dead cockroach at the bottom of his coffee cup at Mocha - Coffees & Conversations, in Bandra. The actor, who plays Aryan in Ek Ladki Anjaani Si, took his wife out for coffee after returning from the Pantaloon's Miss India contest. The evening, however, turned out not-so-romantic, what with the cockroach showing up unexpectedly. A disgusted Ajay took the issue up with the restaurant's management.

Ajay recalls, "I had asked for a cappuccino and my wife had ordered a cold coffee. The moment I took a sip of my coffee, I felt something in my mouth. I couldn't believe my eyes, when I realised it was a dead cockroach. I immediately called the waiter who paid little heed to my complaints and simply disappeared from the scene. I lost my temper and demanded an explanation from the manager. The waiters informed me that the manager was not around. And to top that, the waiter had the audacity to say that he wouldn't charge me for my coffee and would even give me a 20 per cent discount on the cold coffee that my wife had ordered! I was appalled at this callous behaviour, but my wife dragged me away before I could vent my anger. I paid the bill and left."

When we contacted Hitesh Keshwani, Mocha's manager, he said, "I am aware of the issue and I did speak to Mr Gehi last night. We are extremely apologetic about what happened but we assure our customers that this kind of incident will not happen again."
