"All passengers going to London by Air India please..."
As soon as I heard the voice, I rushed towards the plane. The sounds of trolleys being dragged filled the atmosphere. Thousands of people were hurrying to their designated seats. I followed them. A lady greeted me with a smile. I wanted to smile back, but I just couldn't. Not after what happened to me. I scurried through my bag and handed her the ticket.
Walking down the aisle, I looked for my seat. Most of them were occupied. 17, nope. 21, nope. 33, nope. I was doing this for the past 15 minutes when at last I found my seat. Number 55. I sat down before anyone could take my place and looked outside the window. The view was amazing. It would be the last time I saw India. The last time.
Tears flowed out of my eyes. The thought of going away from India was killing me. But the thought of going away from Maanvi...Her face came in to my mind. The laugh, the jokes she made, her naughtiness made me cry even more. I didn't want to leave her alone. I just had to though, after what Beeji said to me.
I looked around the plane. Two sisters were happily playing with each other, the older one resembled to me and the younger one to my Mannu. How I wish Maanvi was with me right now, I would've been a lot happier.
Suddenly, I noticed that two pairs of brown eyes were staring at me. They were filled with sympathy and passion. As soon as he realised that I was staring at him, he looked away. Awkward. After 5 minutes, the guy looked at me again and fiddled in his pockets. He took out a handkerchief and handed it to me.
I shook my head.
"You did know that you are crying right? Well, if you don't want to wipe your tears, at least fix your make up. It's all smudged." He insisted.
Slowly, I extended my hand towards his. My hands were shaking. I never took anything from a stranger. Beeji always taught me to stay away from them.
"Why you shaking so much? Don't be scared. I'm not those type of guys." He giggled.
Immediately, I seized the handkerchief. I hate it when people laughed at me. Especially people I didn't know. I decided I wouldn't talk to him anymore. It would be better for him and me.
*Flashback*
"Di..Don't go. I want you to stay with me. I don't have anyone else other than you. Please Di. I can't live without you."
"Mannu, you are my brave sister. Don't worry, everything will be fine. I'll come back. Soon Mannu, very soon."
I walked out of the house and shut the door on Maanvi.
*End of Flashback*
"Wake up. We're here. Hello!" shouted a voice.
I gradually opened my eyes to see the guy. He was dancing like a maniac, waving his arms around like a monkey. I couldn't help but laugh. That was the first time I had laughed in days.
The guy smiled at me. There was this strong connection between us. I had never ever experienced this with someone before.
