I think Suchitra's dress sense is much more elegant though I dislike her airhead character.

I hate Shaurya's whistling, his cell phone on shoulder ishtyle and everything abt him! He simply nauseates me!

Your opinion.

But Sakshi clothes and accessories are selling on every site and real life store.

And Shaurya style of carrying phone on shoulder, whistle, ringtone is copied by kids too.

Several news items, reports, public feedback confirm that.

Ayub gets more feedback for this than he ever got for any show. His Twitter stream tells it.

Actors playing villains run the show. It is documented everywhere.

Sorry I dont agree Goenkas are grey people. Grey characters have something good in them. Even if a tiny spot, maybe a moment of regret.
Goenkas dont have an iota of goodness or honesty or decency in them! They dont show any regret for anything they have done!

They are all extremely selfish, cruel, despicable characters.

Sakshi only loves her son, not her daughter. I was really disappointed with her reaction to Kangana-Karan affair. I had expected her to be furious and almost kill Karan for seducing her daughter. But she went along with Rajnath's business plans to get Ka-Ka engaged just for their future profits?
Sakshi has tried to kill people even if she didnt succeed, she has gotten people killed, blackmailed, beaten, she has used her power and money to protect her criminal rapist son!

Rajnath is a ruthless killer, he doesnt hesitate to kill anyone who gets in his path. He is a soulless, black hole of crimes unlimited!

Shaurya is a disgusting rapist, a cold-blooded killer, a dirty womanizer, the poster boy of depravity and perversion, the worst scum of the earth!

How can these demons be called grey characters? Theyre just Black! Pitch Black! With not a spot of brightness or light in them! They have no soul!

Its unfortunate if viewers start idolizing such negative characters, copying their style but thats a personal choice.
Women probably buy Sakshi's saris and jewelry so they would feel like Mrs. Goenka, rich, all-powerful and glamorous!

I think Ayub and Simone are admired more for their acting skills, as actors rather than the characters they are playing.

As for Shaurya many girls find villains more attractive for some strange reason. Like there are women who write love letters to convicts in jails and even get married to them.

It seems we are watching different shows.
Sakshi regretted many times. She had slapped Shaurya and called him a rapist after Dayal exposed his fake degree and taunted them. Rajnath had also initially been shown regretful. They were grey to begin with. But were made black recently.

Sakshi blasted Rajnath for fixing that alliance. I hope you watched those episodes. She did say she would never allow using kids. She shut up only when Rajnath assured marriage would not happen and this would be only an engagement. She had pretended to support him in front of Dev but fought with him alone in office.

She has always blasted Shaurya's friends for entering their house, misleading Shaurya. Blasted Shaurya for keeping bad company and risking it all over bets.

You cannot say they never regretted or showed concern for kids.

Raj and Sakshi were worried about Kangana's studies and lifestyle too. Raj wanted to help her start a business. Sakshi wanted to get her married to a good family.

All episodes are there to watch.

Only Shaurya was the one who had no regrets and thought parents just blabbered.

Sakshi had indeed tried Raima like best friend and fought with Jatin for her. When Jatin tried to mandhandle Raima in court, Sakshi slapped him to defend her.

Where is this "not an iota of soul" thing?

Sakshi was shown crying over photos of Akram too.

There are enough instances to show they were grey. Even producer's interview and actors' interviews had mentioned that each character had shades and was not a unidimensional villain or good guy only.
But story was haphazardly handled. Plus typical desi audience cannot appraise shaded, layered characters and want only stereotype clear black or white this is why of late, Goenkas have been blackened like coal!

Irrespective of shades, villains run this show. Empires get slowly weakened and do not fall down in one day! Slow destruction has been there from day one of Goenkas.

Yes, Ive watched those scenes. But actions speak louder than words. Sakshi may express regret in private, she may slap Shaurya but she goes to any lengths to protect him!
Yet she goes along with Rajnath where Kaka rishta is concerned? That shows where her priorities lie...only with her son, not with her daughter. Where is her violent protective instinct for Kangana which she has for Shaurya?

As for her crying for Akram, that is pure hypocrisy, a woman who ruthlessly sets fire to kill a 10 yr old boy and his father has no soul. She could have killed the dad but spared the kid.

Rajnath doesnt love either of his kids. He hates Sakshi, so he doesnt like the kids he had with her either. I dont see him concerned anymore for his great "lover" Raima either.

Goenkas have been blackened recently? They were black to begin with...Rajnath killed his brother 25yrs ago, Sakshi killed Akram 25 yrs ago, Shaurya raped Payal 2 yrs ago. When show started, all 3 were ruthless villains already.

These 3 dont even like or trust each other. 😆 Yet they stick together for the sake of power and social status! Shaitanon ki Mandli...gang of criminals.

You will be surprised to know but I ran a poll on FB asking people to choose between Heena and Sakshi. People chose Sakshi. They did not bother if Heena was good character.

Many rave about Sakshi Goenka character and even call it Mrs Goenka wala serial. My own cousin watches this only for Sakshi and likes her clothes and jewellery and dialogues.

I have seen many magazines and fashion blogs write on Simone's look in EHT and give tips on how to get the Sakshi Goenka look.

Many sites sell Sakshi sarees and jewellery. Ebay, Snapdeal, etc.

There were threads on this forum too when members came to ask where they could get sarees and jewellery like her, where they could get Shaurya whistle and ringtone downloads.

They find them appealing. Producer himself keeps talking fondly on how he designed Sakshi and Shaurya characters, their look, feel etc.

It is not about good or bad, positive or negative. It is just that their onscreen persona is liked.

Some typical traits are liked. I mean I used to hate Sajjan Singh of Pratiggya but liked watching that actor and his Bhojpuri style of speaking. Does it mean I idolised him? No. Just that I liked his typical mannerisms. They were striking and amusing.

I remember many got bored in BV when DS became positive. I loved her change. But some said she had become "thanda" now. Lost spark. CVs then retained slight mischievous streak in her to keep it interesting.

Shaurya has way too many supporters man! I never saw hate for him! Even men like him! Maybe it is Vatsal's looks or style or slightly stupid things he does? I saw people thanking and praising him for killing Dayal!

There is sexism too in way crimes of men and women are perceived. Sakshi got dirty abuses for shooting Raima. Raj was laughed at for killing lawyer, so is Shaurya.

Anyway, my point is that something striking appeals audience so they like villains. This is why Sholay's most popular character is Gabbar and SRK took all accolades for Darr. Liking something about villains is not idolising them. Villain being fearless and uninhibited, probably fascinates people.

I liked Gabbar in Sholay and SRK in Darr too...2 of my favorite movies in fact!
But I wouldnt copy their styles for that matter...😆

I know people may find villains fascinating, some of them are...Sakshi is a really fascinating character but shes also pure evil.

Shaurya...I dont know how people like him...thats the problem with this show, they chose a good-looking actor as the rapist, they made him comical in many scenes.
They toned down the seriousness of his heinous crimes!

Sakshi was supposed to have killed Rehmat at behest of someone else. But they didn't show it.

They are the kind who might regret but ultimately can't help but do what gives them power or protection.

I know their crimes! I myself made threads listing each. Mujhe kya bataa rahi ho?😊

It was the interviews and earlier write ups plus sudden change in behaviour of Goenkas that made me write this.

Sakshi and Rajnath were not going to marry off Kangana at all to Karan. Violent instinct would have surfaced if marriage had to happen. Sakshi even went silent but conditionally when Rajnath allowed Shaurya to take Durga to Vaishno Devi. She does simmer down but on assurance.

These so called new twists of past also came later only.

I agree they are black. None is lesser evil. All I said was they were not conceived like this to begin with. That too on basis of old interviews. That's all. I am not justifying them. I never did either.

I do not know Pallavi. It makes me ponder too.😕

Is it only looks?

If only looks mattered then why would Gabbar and Mogambo be this popular? Actors were not handsome or young!

I feel the strength, brain, power and fearlessness of villain might be what appeals to people apart from typical style and mannerisms like Nana Patekar's crazy style in Parinda became so famous. Sanjay Dutt did many positive roles but was liked most for bhai roles as in Khalnayak, Vaastav. Even his most famous good guy role is criminal Munnabhai who cheats in exams, etc.

Maybe because people never see such people in real life this is why they feel like they are watching something different or entertaining?

It's something that makes me very curious.

I also dont know why a rapist character has so many fans? I guessed because hes good-looking?

Gabbar and Mogambo werent rapists. Gabbar was a cruel, vicious killer, a psychopath, a megalomaniac dacoit but he wasnt a rapist. He ordered Basanti to dance, he didnt pull at her clothes.
Same with Mogambo, or Sunju in his movies, also Nana Patekar...they were megalomaniacs, psychopathic killers or petty criminals, but not rapists!

Rapists are the most abhorrent criminals and I hate it that they chose a good-looking actor for the role as a result of which he even has fans!! 😲

Villains can be fascinating as long as they are shown for what they are and not glorified.

Sakshi has a backstory, she was forced to become a criminal due to circumstances, Rajnath and Shaurya have no excuse for becoming the monsters that they are!

There are too many villains and criminals in real life, we see it on the news all over the world, rapes, murders, corruption, injustice of the worst kind. When we watch a serial it shd be uplifting, hopeful, optimistic.
If villains keep on inflicting pain and death on good characters, it becomes sadistic painful to watch.

For the same reason I dislike watching saas bahu shows where angelic bahu keeps on crying and suffering and MIL/ SIL or some other villain keeps on torturing...very pathetic and annoying.
