Its unfortunate if viewers start idolizing such negative characters, copying their style but thats a personal choice.
Women probably buy Sakshi's saris and jewelry so they would feel like Mrs. Goenka, rich, all-powerful and glamorous!
I think Ayub and Simone are admired more for their acting skills, as actors rather than the characters they are playing.
As for Shaurya many girls find villains more attractive for some strange reason. Like there are women who write love letters to convicts in jails and even get married to them.
You will be surprised to know but I ran a poll on FB asking people to choose between Heena and Sakshi. People chose Sakshi. They did not bother if Heena was good character.
Many rave about Sakshi Goenka character and even call it Mrs Goenka wala serial. My own cousin watches this only for Sakshi and likes her clothes and jewellery and dialogues.
I have seen many magazines and fashion blogs write on Simone's look in EHT and give tips on how to get the Sakshi Goenka look.
Many sites sell Sakshi sarees and jewellery. Ebay, Snapdeal, etc.
There were threads on this forum too when members came to ask where they could get sarees and jewellery like her, where they could get Shaurya whistle and ringtone downloads.
They find them appealing. Producer himself keeps talking fondly on how he designed Sakshi and Shaurya characters, their look, feel etc.
It is not about good or bad, positive or negative. It is just that their onscreen persona is liked.
Some typical traits are liked. I mean I used to hate Sajjan Singh of Pratiggya but liked watching that actor and his Bhojpuri style of speaking. Does it mean I idolised him? No. Just that I liked his typical mannerisms. They were striking and amusing.
I remember many got bored in BV when DS became positive. I loved her change. But some said she had become "thanda" now. Lost spark. CVs then retained slight mischievous streak in her to keep it interesting.
Shaurya has way too many supporters man! I never saw hate for him! Even men like him! Maybe it is Vatsal's looks or style or slightly stupid things he does? I saw people thanking and praising him for killing Dayal!
There is sexism too in way crimes of men and women are perceived. Sakshi got dirty abuses for shooting Raima. Raj was laughed at for killing lawyer, so is Shaurya.
Anyway, my point is that something striking appeals audience so they like villains. This is why Sholay's most popular character is Gabbar and SRK took all accolades for Darr. Liking something about villains is not idolising them. Villain being fearless and uninhibited, probably fascinates people.
