What is suspense?

TRP Aunty - I think questions such as, but not limited to -

- Which boy will heroine marry?

- Will they hate each other or love?

- When will they consummate marriage?

- Will heroine get pregnant?

- Will she give birth or suffer miscarriage?

- Will she have a boy or girl?

- Will saas cause trouble?

- Will she be able to handle saas' own devrani and husband's chachi?

- Will her marriage last or will she get divorced or widowed?

- Will husband accept her?

- Will quarrel between her and husband resolve or stretch for months?

- Will devar ruin her life?

- Will nanad create trouble?

- How will she overcome trouble by in laws?

- Will husband take her side or his family's?

- Will she get support from maayka?

- Will she do her own thing or become puppet?

- Will God/luck help her?

- How will she go against parivaar maryada and parampara if she discovers ugly secrets in family?

What constitutes a thriller?

TRP Aunty - Thriller means CID, Savdhan India, Crime Patrol, Sansani.

If you really ask me, then fights between husband wife, saas bahu, devrani, jethani, sauten, nanad, devar, bhabhi, naukar, sagey maa baap, sautele maa baap etc are thrilling. Ex lover jealous at new lovers, reunion of lovers, consummation scenes are quite a thrill.

Fantastici interview Anu!

I think this post of your is worthy of publication because you have summed up the real problem with the TRP audience- a refusal to engage with any real issue in the world. All they seem to want is an escape into a world which does not need them to think or use their brains in any way and more important, that does not disturb the status quo in any way.
