Here is the celebration thread. 😉
Once upon a time...
...we were promised a THRILLER
...racy promos, suspense all over with deceptive gaze and twisted smiles
...when each episode was so quick in pace that if you missed even a scene you missed something crucial!
...when you could not take even a loo break as the show was on and could not get away even during commercial breaks
...when episodes had powerful statements on not just women but also society, crime, damned ways of the rich and powerful
...when corruption was highlighted in every aspect, an apt portrayal of kalyug
...when even scenes without dialogues used to have amazing symbolism that often communicated more than any one liners
...when we raved about strong female characters, who had more to do in life than just be bahu or cry over family disputes, we raved about finally seeing something different on TV
...when we marvelled at Dayal for being like Lord Krishna to Durga, a guide and mentor. Finally a guy who did not just ask a girl to forget everything and settle in matrimony, rather helped her achieve justice and fulfil her purpose in life
...when there was not a single wasteful scene or meaningless dialogue in the show. Each word meant a "hint"!
We believed it was fun. We raved over it.
MOST OF US wondered how could Star Plus of all channels show such a serial!😆
We had discussions over everything from symbolism to crime and state of society. The only forum where something more happened than fawning over chipku scenes of jodis.
Then! Enter Dev!👏
Show started dragging. Filmy sequences galore. Typical soap elements started creeping in. Dhaagas, pujas, kundalis, lockets, suddenly lives saved, love triangles...
We kept plugging in. Still hoping thrill would not go, theme would not be compromised.
But fears grew. Member activity reduced. Raving began to gave way to ranting.😕
We have a positive lead who has vowed not to use brain. His mom is controlled by others in family. In turn she controls him. Hands tied! Yay!🤪
All recordings are kept away and Durga makes a great plan at last moment to get married to Shaurya and enter Goenka house!🤡
What a new master plan! Girl will enter family and cause rifts! Then family will fall apart! Arre wah! Never seen before!👏
We have mom in law and Durga confrontation already. And familiar exchange of cold gaze. Those talks in mind - main tumhara jeena haraam kar dungi! 😆
This is all that we have grown up watching in K soaps on the very own Star Plus over 14 years! Star Plus returns to its roots! ⭐️
Shaadi announced with someone else but done with someone else. Triangle between Dev, Durga and Nitya, triangle with past and present! Frustration of a guy seeing his prey become his bhabhi, more triangle! Husband-wife conflict, saas bahu conflict, maa beta conflict, devrani jethani conflict. Corporate settings gave way to mandaps and bedrooms. Cheap dialogues like B grade films or family dramas of 80s.😃
The only suspense that Star Plus knows! We are going to get that!
No sir there is no other way to get justice. Unwanted weddings between unaware or unwilling parties are a must. Everyone knows the truth yet goes ahead with the sham behaving like imbeciles.
Biggest suspense now is who is writing script? Where did characters lose their brains? Why are they behaving the way they are? What is going on?🤪
Nobody knows a thing except TRP aunties. 😛 Over to you aunties!
