shaurya goenka belongs to the latter category..have we seen concern in his lustful eyes for any other human being till date? not even his mother who has committed murders for him..what indication has there been of him turning into a saint, pray tell me.. this man talks to going to a place like vaishnodevi to rape his fiance and dump her..this man is as good as a soulless devil who wud go rape his own mother if he had the opportunity to..and we are talking of love? i dnt think durga or any other female can have any feelings except disgust for leches like him..

Anu you rule! All I can say after reading your post is AMEN! I would not have bothered to reply if I had seen this earlier.

Is it just me or does anyone else see anything wrong with this statement?

A driver's daughter - mind you she did not choose to be born in this family, she just happened to be born there! Punishment for Shourya for raping one of the daughters is marrying the other one. The fault of both girls is that they were born poor. The fault of the driver - a hardworking decent individual at least as portrayed in tthe story is that he is poor.

if your "potential"idea was ridiculous this is beyond cruel! I feel sorry for any help in your household!

It makes me so sad that people actually think this way. Fair enough, Dev hasn't won over a lot of the audience yet. Give it time. But the fact that you think Shaurya should even get the chance to reform is ridiculous. He is A RAPIST. Which means he violated women's rights and their bodies. He tore them up physically and mentally and enjoys the process. He's happy with the idea of having to rape Durga too. These kind of people only deserve punishment. Not love. And especially not love with the sister of a woman he raped and tortured. It's sick that people actually want Shaurya and Durga to get together. Would you want your kid marrying a rapist? Lol. Please stop with the bakwaas, and think before you speak.

There are some people who choose to forgive while some prefer revenge and violence. To forgive or not is up to the individual. There is no right or wrong answer. Perhaps it's better to forgive than to live one's entire life wallowing in hatred. Even for women who have been raped, many studies have shown that they could go on to lead happy lives if they forgive. Of course they will never forget the horror of what they experienced. But if they continue to hate, they will end up depressed and suicidal. Lastly this forum is for healthy discussion on various perspectives. You can't censor people's thoughts. You can call the topic maker idealistic, but to say that she stop with the bakwaas is plain rude. That's not right is it?

Reformation and realisation is all good but to be judgemental, this all can't erase the crime committed.

I understand that only punishment is not good enough for an evil person, his mindset needs to be reformed and I want Shaurya to be a better person but falling in love with Durga, being accepted by her just because he changed, being forgiven by Payal and etc are Highly unacceptable.

Just because its a show most of us are waiting for Shaurya to be forgiven at the end but taking it as a reality note, Would we ever want the Rapists involved in Damini rape case forgiven on the account of reformation?? Never, none of us would!

A crime is always a crime and a criminal always remains a criminal...their transformation of mindset isn't gonna change the worst that they have done. And if they did worst then I want the worst to happen with them, just the way I want Shaurya to suffer.

Nobody is erasing the crime committed. Shaurya still has to properly repent and serve the full prison sentence. He will be counseled when in jail. But after his release, then what? Is he not allowed to lead a normal life? He has served his penance!

jo Durga is kamene ke intjaar me life waste karegi

vo ghatiya rapist kisike pyar ke laayak nahi hai

Reformation is indeed an idealistic approach but Shaurya marrying Nitya or Payal sounds cruel and really stupid. Sorry if that hurts anyone.
I am not against reformation after punishment as per the law book. But why that reformation has to end in Durga's arms is something I cannot fathom. If he becomes some saint someday let him do something postive for others. Let him join some NGO and work for the society. Why he has to marry anyone ? Is that the only objective of reformation ?
