I disagree.
Like she shouldn't of said yes but she did have pressure. She need to pay for the medical expenses for her dead father as well as medicine for her mother and money for her younger brother, she's the only one who was able to do something for her family.
It was a blackmail disguised as a deal.

Even without a sexual favour, her way of asking a fake degree was highly immoral in first place.

Her degree certificate will stand cancelled now, yes that's ironical but well, law has its own ways to do things.

Nandini IS a victim!

If you are given a choice: Have sex with a man, or have your mother die as you can't pay the bills. What will you choose?

If you have worked so hard over your career, and a boss threatened to ruin your reputation unless you gave him sex. You've spent your entire life working hard for this, and moments will bring everything down. Sometimes people are educated, but power is beyond education. Some people control the media, the system, the police. Where would she go?

It is very easy for us to say Nandini should have done this/Nandini should have done that. None of us are in Nandini's shoes. We cannot judge her actions. She is a victim who was exploited by the disgusting Ganguly.

Only because you are in a bad shape, you cannot afford to take wrong decisions. A wrong decision lead to larger crimes.

She is in a real mess now. What will she do now ? She is still poor , helpless and this time she is out of a degree certificate either. She is a victiom of sexual abuse but she isn;t she a convict of forgery either ?

In real life, I have seen people living poorer life than Nandini. One of my friend's parents would walk everyday to their workplaces so that they could save some money for their son. They ate less and saved more. When he grew a little older, he started taking tuitions. This way he maked his way till graduation.

In another such case, a man pulled rickshaw to get his graduation degree and finally was posted as a teacher in a govt school.

And there are many, not to forget how our ex- president K.R. Narayan got his educaation or how Anandiben, the chief misnister of Gujarat got her education.

As for Nanidi she not only lacked money but she lacked self- confidence as well. WHy did she need a fake certificate in the first place. Lets forget sexual favours. Just imagine a girl getting a fake degree and later justifying that I have a family to look after?

Every criminal can put forward a sob story. At the end of the day, a person has to pay for his own actions. WHile Ganguly goes to jail, Nandini loses everything. I have my sympathy for her but I cannot give her a clean chit. Look at other examples, why didn't Payal give in to the offer although she had to fight the Goenkas who were far more stronger than her? The girl didn't try at all.

Under the veil of poverty we cannot afford to let this kind of crimes prosper. Besides, we have a society to consider before we start pouring compassion on the victims.

No Nandini is also wrong. When you know what you are doing is wrong but still go ahead and do it then you are to blame. U cannot play the victim card. You knowingly put yourself in that situation.

Girls like Nandini are giving power to creeps like Gangully which makes them powerful because they think they can do anything. Someone just once has to slap these creeps and report them to higher authority.

Thank you everyone for the comment and I agree to most of you that Nandini should not escape with victim card. She should get her fair share of punishment as what she did , she did it on her own.

completely agree with atominis comment to this post!
Nandini could have chosen other jobs like she said when ganguly approached her with this offer.
she always had a choice, and she should have spoken about this to someone, may be then things could have been better, someone could have enlightened Nandini. may b her decision making which she did with the mindset that she is all alone and there is no hope for her resulted in this. Everyone needs to speak out about the injustice, that could prevent one from doing wrong. Nandini all alone made her choice. Well, Ganguly was not the only option left to her!
