Ibrahim Ali Khan Admits Nadaaniyan Was A Bad Film
Am completely with you on this..Chick, completely agree that this was a leveller of sorts...That is what the writers wish to convey on that day..when Shravan became the ill-advised motormouth.I have often wondered what are the just desserts for a folly which was done unintentionally yet has the power to wound? When the incident happened...All i could think was the core of the intention of Shravan and naturally hark back to the Nirmala leaving and Sumo deserting Shravan. Not that there is a like for like comparison to the issues...but both actions had the same result...the power to singe. I don't now remember if it was someone who wrote here or was it my own impression but I could relate completely to Shravan's state of mind...when the incident will come to light. He finally does a thing he can't ever apologise for and be understood..something that Sumo has lived with all these years...Shravan gets to be in Sumo's shoes then. Will it give him closure or despair? or both?
You two are analyzing this leveler point and wasting your time. π
Sumo is like instant coffee. Not even two minute noodles. Just instant coffee
She will forgive him and forget the incident before we can blinkπ
Chick π
Beautifully written as always ! (Is there a way I can automatically add this comment right after you post ? π)Where did she go indeed ? Shravan is the creator and his Sumo is his creation. Sumo's traits may have existed before Shravan, but he was the one who gave it a name, an identity which she didn't have before. The issue is that when Shravan left, Sumo disappeared. And Shravan searches for her, not knowing that there is no Sumo without him, there never can be, there never will be.So Shravan has to look within to find Sumo and Sumo has to look within to find Shravan. Long back I remember mentioning this on some post. This relationship may have started as a symbiotic one, but the result of their separation is actually an assimilation. Their personalities have intergated in such a way, that the younger Sumo's traits are visible in adult Shravan and younger Shravan's in adult Sumo's πBrilliance CVs ! How I wish EKDV was a book π³

Lovely write up Soup.
I'm a sucker for teen ShraMan and was delighted to see Chotu Sumo giving gyan to a grwon up Shrav. It was symbolic she was asleep & gone on hibernate mode when he went searching for her.
He has to either wait for the long winter to be over- wait for her to wake up on her own or hit the reset himself-change his attitude towards the adult Sumo.
I think for Shrav "Sumo" is the fighting spirit of the school bully he loved. He was happy to bask in her spirit once, now he wants to break the very spirit. In drunken state, he wants to restore it to the original.
Shrav should stay drunk. He comes to his sense when he is senseless.π
beautiful words @chick and every word rings true of what Shravan is going through today.
If I may just add my 2 bits because although each of you have in this post analysed his frame of mind so beautifully, the scene is lingering on my mind since last night and its impact has just been mind-blowing.That scene by itself (I would look at it in isolation because that it seemed to me) has to be one of the best ever written and enacted. The precursor to shravan's breakdown was his conversation with the terrified bahadur when the feeling of loneliness dawns on him. Namik was just terrific in it.at the end of it all shravan is a tender-hearted guy who has always loved unreservedly. he just needs that little sign from suman of the feeling she has for him to reach out to her completely and unconditionally. His love for has always been unconditional, its only now that the doubts have crept into his thoughts courtesy ramanth and his games, because of which he has started questioning each and every of her actions and mis-interpreting them.on a side note, I wonder what will happen when he actually finds out about Sumos feelings towards him and the levels of intensity those episodes will havedespite the flawlessness of the scene, and i may be wrong but am not too sure that something will come out of it as a consequence- there are too many chasms between them which they will have to overcome, which will need time and no machinations. only the drunken ramblings of a lonely soul may not be the magic potion for the healing though the process may have begun from his end. they may just show him falling asleep- he is too insecure and way too chivalorous to wake her up.having said this, must say that the CVs are doing a brilliant job and coming up with master-strokes of scenes which will stay on in our minds, a feat very few shows can achieve.

Chick, Rekha, Nith,
Beautiful words... How wonderfully you all have described this scenario...Shravan would bend, he would cover the remaining distance if only Sumo takes the first step, one step... All his life Shravan wanted only one thing...Sumo completely invested in him just like he was..Rekha,You think Ram was genuine? Can anyone change so drastically in such a short time? I find him odd these days... Mostly bcz his actions don't add up... Sometimes I feel he is concerned for Shravan's happiness but then he is the one systematically destroying it.
