Now about the post... IF we do get a civil Shravan and a silent Sumo... where would the fireworks be?

How would he strike? Does he think that getting married to Adi is all that she craves for now?

So would he try to break that marriage? More questions than answers...

It won't be a silent Sumo..it'd be a hurting and angry Sumo given the current track..if Shravan actually succeeds in breaking up the engagement...because he is going to use her feelings for him and then throw it at her face..I think/ hope by the time the wedding happens, if it happens..Shravan realises his mistakes one by one...

They can't give us an angry Shravan beyond the current one, IMO...He has to start cooling down soon. ๐Ÿ˜‰

He thinks Adi wooed her and she allowed herself to be...After all, he had been honest with her about all his opinions and she chose Adi's fickleness over his honesty.

No harm in calling a spade a spade. Any good novel/ script reaches the high point organically, audience need not bear with illogical subplots in the hope of story making sense in future. I'm not being unnecessarily harsh, I thought the episode was best so far this week and I liked bits and pieces (everything with Shravan in it ๐Ÿ˜ƒ )

IMO, a good writing would leave us with a shortlived show...which is what I want too, BTW.

Given they want to extend the longevity of the show, I feel they are doing a pretty good job...

Because they are just extrapolating on Shravan's problems with trust and they have just made Suman get fed up of explaining herself every time...

But the fact that it took her to accepting a proposal...OK, if they have added the extra naanu factor, I'd take it with a pinch of salt...Frankly, I have already forgotten what he did at PCT..so it is a little hard to keep up with why she is not confiding in him ...at least about how she was being forced to accept...

...For a second, she wished the news had been broken to him in a milder manner(notable that she was not worried about the content of the news as much as the manner of breaking it...meaning she still thinks Shravan wants to be friend No:1 and not Hero No:1. ๐Ÿ˜‰)...

Otherwise, I guess I was at peace seeing a Shravan swearing revenge..Just looking forward to his idea of it...

I was upset too, around the beginning of the week...I guess I have forgotten how upset I was, since what is happening now has my eyeballs. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Once upon a time she had told him that if he went away she would look for him and if she could not find him she would wait until he returned. She told his father that if he was ever distressed she would not be able to hold herself back and go to him.

So when Sumo can't find her Shravan will she try to find him or will she try to protect herself against more hurt?

The plot thickens with twists and turns but I am curious to see how this will all come together.

Chick, agree with you. Namik's acting was amazing. The subtle longing expressions during the ceremony, giving way to the shock and hurt with news of Sumo's upcoming marriage followed by the bland empty expressions when he was alone drinking and then the rage. What a repertoire for an actor so new to the profession.

Even when the story sags it is the actors and their taken that keeps us coming back. Well done Namik and Nikita.๐Ÿ‘

@Bold-

Friendship ke saare rules thod diye Shravan?...was her latest monologue on this, I guess...

Another way to answer that Q would be...

Would he bring her an illusion of the old Shravan who had needed her?

The problem is by creating a story incongruous with other serials of our time on Indian TV, the makers of this TV serial have created their own monsters of expectation out of the audience. And we expect and we expect - them to excel in their creativity and story telling. In doing so we analyze, possibly over analyse, and attribute virtues to certain characters and assign fundamental faults to others. We analyse and predict and come up with permutations and combinations of story lines as we would write them. Often the creatives have something else in mind succumbing to extended finish dates (so catering to a sudden need to extend a short and crisp plot) and of course the TRP devil. So our permutations and combinations come to naught and we get disillusioned or, we try and justify weak irrational twists and turns, to explain the time we spend thinking and speculating about this piece of fiction.

I look for a piece of reality when I watch Edkv. In fact I had come to expect it from this soap. So while allowing a little bit and more creative Liberty, would someone I know completely change their personality because they are disillusioned with love? No! They would be cautious as hell, and would possibly retreat. But their intrinsic character, the one they have lived for however long - from adolescence to adulthood- their core and so their behavior outside would remain the same, with small differences which will form their defence mechanism. So a diabolical Shravan is an oxymoron- the two are completely different. Shravan is the complete opposite of mean and self serving and for him to make this 360 degrees does not hit the right notes with me. So one has to watch and reserve judgement. Because had I written this, I would still have found other ways of taking the story forward but none of my ideas would fetch good numbers. And the same is probably true of many here. So what will Shravan do? I think his resolve to remain unaffected will be broken very soon, as soon as Nirmala comes in. And my hope of course is that they drag this no further and that Preethi, since she was dragged down to bring these two out of the quicksand, acts fast and pulls them out before they are consumed in a swirl of emotions and hate.

They still have much going for them without prolonging misunderstandings between leads and they have much to keep the two apart longer without nasty misunderstandings. If they looked hard enough they will find a treasure trove of ideas with a wealth of unexplored characters and relationship dynamics. But they need to really look and see and focus less of what the mass want.

I agree with the first part of what you have written...'We analyse and predict and come up with permutations and combinations of story lines as we would write them'

May times, it is this over analysing that leaves me disappointed...because there is no way the writer will think exactly the way I want...But by and large, the ideas are maintained as the bigger picture emerges.

Diabolical Shravan- when this is not a complete transformation in character, but a minor detour(minor in terms of the time frame, and not the intensity)...can be explained away as a coping mechanism...

For Shravan has completely been blinded into believing Suman has wronged not just him , but the very idea he stands for...has shown complete disregard and made a mockery of friendship...If we could take the Shravan who could put her down in front of their school crowd, why should it be different now?

Namik was excellent today. The pain is so visible in his eyes that all you feel like is giving Shravan a hug. I must say Sumo exhibited a lot of self control. You could see when she was in the kitchen that she wanted to run to him.For a minute, I wished she had, she could at least have called. It would have calmed him down and he would have said it all because he was so vulnerable at that point.

This Shravan claims to be new, but is he really ? Isn't this the same facade we have seen him put up again and again, when he returned from London, when he refused to help her after she fell down running on his lawn, when the Nirmala incident happened.
It wasn't long before he gave up. This time he is hurt more, so may be a few more days.

That is why they showed us the Preethi-Sumo conversation. They have created an additional ticking clock to keep us hooked. Till now we only had to wonder if SS will communicate and get over the MU, but now we will also watch every scene where Preethi is in with equal intensity, we can't just skip Preekar now as we used to(at least I used to) .

Does Shravan even know what it is to be selfish ? To be selfish would be to do something that you want not thinking about how it will affect the others and not considering what the consequences of his actions will be. Is he capable of doing that ? Himself he will hurt, he will agonise but what I fear is that the new Shravan will hurt Shravan more than anyone else.Is he capable of marrying Sumo without her consent ? Will wait and watch. Have analysed too much this week.

Thanx, dear.

I doubt he will want to marry her now...That'd be Kamini's doing for sure..that is the role assigned to her. ๐Ÿ˜‰

@Bold-

Yes, he'd give up...that is what I feel...But in those few days, he can do more damage than he has done in the past few tracks...and end up hurting himself more..

@the rest: i suspect shravan's resolve to remain unaffected will break sooner than that. At the party (yet again a party!) itself. It will perhaps be our first glimpse of the venom he intends ti spew. With Nirmala's entrance, things will get much worse. The fact that Sumo had knowingly said yes to marry Nirmala's son is going to twist the knife further in him. The outburst have been getting uglier, but i fear the worst is yet to come.
But beagle, not betting my bottom dollar on it... ๐Ÿ˜‰ have looked and learned from those smarter than me...

The Q is, Is Nirmala more important than Sumo?

If Shravan had known about Nirmala first, and then the announcement came...it would have been double heart break...at this juncture, I honestly feel Nirmala has nothing more to add to his pain ..I feel it is best they leave that truth for another day, to bring out some emotion other than anger and misery...

Love : the sickest of Irony's sickest jokes...where logic and order go to hide..

Whether people in love are afflicted by this malady completely, I can't say but the CVs put this to perfect use as situation demands...๐Ÿ˜‰

Chick...interesting post...there...so u think this new Shravan is someone to look forward to...Well if u say so...๐Ÿ˜ฒSince he has delighted us even in current form...that's a delectable possibility I am looking forward to

Also, let me just say after a while, I was able to watch the episode without too many facepalm moments...it was decently paced and while there was a drama element towards the end ( melodrama is not something I have associated with EDKV but then its not really the EDKV of yore ) however let me say the drama fit in well with how it was placed...the drama had the right provocation... even if the persona of Shravan making that transformation from a lovely gentleman to a meanie from now will take a pinch of salt (not a pinch...make it a sack )

And I was struck with a few epiphanies (if I can call it that) after watching yesterday's episode.

Let me just explain...its going to take a while to get to the point so please bear with me...

Excluding the current relationship status of Shraman which could read variously as "its complicated " or better still "no longer give a sh**t" or "needing a miracle", I think these two have had a contrasting fortunes in how their belief in love has progressed. I know what I am saying sounds a bit enigmatic...but I will explain.

Shravan came from London having perhaps the least amount of faith in love...and experiences from then on had got him to almost reaching the stage of owning up to his love and make a confession to his love (before he was thwarted). On the contrary, Sumo began this journey fairly certain that when her school friend came back from London, it would perhaps only be a matter of time before he would own up to his love. Unfortunately for her, her friend's flip flops between moving on and staying stuck played havoc with her own sense of confidence in that emotion called love. (also the CVs have a having a clear case of writer's block after the Aditya entry episodes) Blame them, blame destiny, blame caprice of loved ones...but the couple meant to be together are in a state today of "Never the twain shall meet"

However by hook or crook, the Cvs have managed to achieve this...

Sumo had issued two challenges to Ram

1) How will u stop Shrav when he realises my love for him

2) I will not stop myself if he is hurt.

Now what the Cvs have done is engineered thru hook or crook situations to stop the above two conditions from materialising and hence the conflict

Now when the Cvs deem fit, they will make one or both happen,...the point is how do we accept the nonsense happening until then...or rather try and justify what they have showed thru this Aditya track...๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†
