I have been wanting to make this post for almost a week now. Its not a negative post, only constructive criticism but please feel free to differ and bash if you think it deserves it.I feel that the finesse that was there in EKDV is missing these days, especially in this track. These are my reasons.
I actually have been thinking along the same lines too. It seems like the CVs are in some kind of rush. I don't get it.1) The track itself feels forced and not too real. EKDV is the most realistic serial I have seen till date, no unnecessary zooming of faces and tracks close themselves very naturally and the next track follows. The Preekar track from the beginning of their romance has been unrealistically fast. Kamini agreed just becuase Ramnath said so, really ?
Kamini agreeing to the marriage was still acceptable because Ramaath assured her that her problems would go away once she accepted the wedding. The fool trusted her Bhaisaab will make things right. 😆 But now that she knows her Bhaisaab has crossed her, I want her to spring bang into action and spoil his game.2) The Tiwari family has monetary issues and more importantly communication issues as well. Nanu was the one who said they will take care of all the expenses. He is sidelined now, doesnt he even wonder where the money comes from ? Don't they all talk about how much money will be spent on which specifics of a wedding ? They may have given all reposnsibility to Sumo financially but still doesn't Sumo feel the need to discuss anything with the elders of the house ? For example, she could have just called one of them and asked about the ring, the mature Sumo is now becoming hasty. Why does the Tiwari family agree for everything and do nothing about it ? Destination wedding, they agreed but good for them thats not happening.Everyone was there when Kamini said the wedding should be in a 5 star, did anybody open their mouth ? And now Sumo is booking some hall for Sangeeth and that too from an advance she got. What happened to all the money? Don't they plan on how much for what ?
Its actually insane how the 'mards' of Tiwari family just dumped every little responsibility on Sumo. Is she the only earning member of the family? And Mami is so two-faced she makes me cringe. All along, she is nothing but a 'bojh' to the family and now, she's close enough to basically single-handedly manage the entire wedding.3) Demands from the groom's side are totally unrealistic. If Tiwari's are so scared that the wedding will stop if they disagree what's the point in such a marraige ? Won't the girl be taunted after marriage ? All of them know that Kamini is not happy, she was very clear the first time itself. I don't understand how Maami thinks its ok to send her daughter to that house ? Any mother will think of the future, wedding is not the end of the relationship but the beginning. What respect will her daughter get in that house ? And worse, Preeti after that wierd conversation with Kamini did not tell Pushkar or her mother about it, why ?
Exactly. Preeti just woke up and forgot about the threats from her to-be MIL? It's beyond ridiculous! If something like that happened to us, I believe we'd be disturbed for days and get to the root of it. Apparently, Preeti has more pressing issues on her mind. Lehnga design and song-selection are way more important than a threatening MIL, right? 😛4) The question of the missing brother. I do hope he shows up at least for the wedding. I am not going into details, its a big miss if the CV's forget this.5) Sumo & Shravan : What do I say ? The way Sumo is avoiding Shravan shows conflict within herself but I found the way she does it a bit rude. How did she feel when Shravan treated her the same way ? Whats this logic of hurting the other person ? She can talk politely and still avoid any further advances at the same time. But then I see the pain she is in, I feel she will breakdown at any moment. I pity her.Shravan on the other hand is hurt and confused and the constant brainwashing by this father is making him angry and he is chosing to take it out on Sumo instead of just asking her what is wrong. It somehow gives me the feeling that he still doesn't trust Sumo. Its a wierd thing, he loves Sumo more than his father but trusts his father more than Sumo. Whenever he talks about Nirmala, doesnt he feel bad that its his mother that Ramnath is talking about ? Has he never loved his mother ? How can he sit down and hear such things about women and his mother ?His emotional side is taking over him and he is not thinking clearly at all and I pity Shravan too. But he is a lawyer and how can he not think that there might be another side to the story ?
I get she has to act distant and aloof from Shravan when they're under Raamnath's scrutiny and I get that its killing her inside but I think she's taking it a little too far now. She doesn't have to be friendly but when she can see how much her actions are hurting him, doesn't she feel she owes him some explanation? But then, when there are problems pushing in from all sides, we often don't have our heads in the right place. I don't blame her. I'm just sad this is happening.
And Shravan, I still don't feel he loves and trust Sumo enough. I've been feeling that right from the beginning and he's done nothing so far to change it. His abnormal level of papa-puja has to stop. Only then can he see the world the way it is.6) Ramnath : The lesser said the better.
Ramnaath ke muh me cockroaches and lizards. 😡Most of all I feel bad for us, we yearn for each Shraman scene and are so happy to get each one but somewhere all this waiting for their confessions is tiring us out. Hopefully Shraman grow as charachters and they close the Nirmala track soon, that is the basis of this MU and all future ones because if Ramnath's truth doesn't come out, he will manipulate Sumo after the Preekar wedding too and the whole feel of EKDV will be lost. All opinions welcome !
I really try not to get overwhelmed by the negativity but some faults just can't be overlooked. I hope the CVs take note and give us back the show we fell in love with.
Thank you for making this post. Very precise and to the point. 😊

Thanks for making this post . I swear...I was going to do something on the same lines. It's just that all this while...even though there hasn't been any sort of proper romantic tracks between the two...the subtext was always enough to give us fodder for shipping. But with the current track, I feel nothing. The show which made me feel so exhilarated makes me a little depressed nowadays, frankly. I don't want to be a wet blanket spreading negativity, I swear. But the nuances and subtlety that were the hallmarks of this show is completely missing with the PreeKar marriage track. What irks me more is the attitude of the two protagonists. One doesn't find it weird that the girl who's always reached out to him is giving him a cold shoulder for no reason. And is also finding his dad's misogynistic rant resonating with him about the girl whom he loves! And Sumo's also giving him a tough time by being very very harsh and unnecessarily stubborn at times. At this point however, I can atleast see where she's coming from...but I have to admit...very disappointed with Shravan's behaviour. And what is needed at the moment is not even romance. Some light hearted moments would suffice. The show's current track makes you feel dreary at the end of a long day. Think of it from the point of a mainstream viewer...Someone who's not a hard core fan of the show. Is there any light at the end of the tunnel? Nope.Sorry for this extremely pessimistic rant...but just felt like saying it. I don't intend to offend fellow fans and forum friends by sayingthis. But the last week has been very disappointing to say the least. And I will be reading the written updates till the track gets a little better. Sorry again if I offended anybody.Whew. Rant over:)
Agree to all your observations, you have explained it all perfectly.
Somethings ail this current track and that is undeniable.EDKV has till now been that perfect show. And that is what has made us love it because its was always never OTT be it the characters or their behaviour in situations or even for matter costumes and make-up.It has also had that huge amount of realism that it brought to the characters and to the tracks, which was missing since God knows how long on Indian TV. And the connect to the characters of Shravan and Sumo, despite their flaws and ofcourse Namik and Nikita. So beautiful has been each episode (till before the start of the Preekar wedding) in all respects that every episode seems complete by itself even you are watching in random order and you can still laugh or be touched or feel for ShraMan as much as you did the first time you saw an episode. All in all, EDKV is 24K gold which has has only lost some of its sheen albeit temporarily. It just needs a good swipe of polish to bring back the dazzle- hope the CVs do that and do that soon.
