This is Pearl. It is my first post in the EKDV forum, although I've been flipping through the posts here.
EKDV is coming across as a really good story. I love the dynamics between the characters. But I want to know that is revealing Ramnath's truth to Shravan going to be worth it?
In real life scenarios, when a couple separates, the estranged parent rarely returns. Hard as it might be, people do move on and revisiting the past only leads to opening of wounds. Ramnath is being portrayed as the scrupulous amongst Ram-Nirmala, but Nirmala has her own flaws. Why was she absent for these intervening years? One threat from Ram and she leaves her 16 year old son alone, not even bothering to find about his well-being?? As bad as Ram is, he has been Shravan's rock throughout.
Given how sensitive Shravan is about his dad, the guy had literally lost his sanity the night he thought he lost his dad, will he be able to bear the truth??
Shravan already bears the scars of his past, won't the truth scar him more. He is unable to trust half the mankind (womankind, to be precise) , why snatch his remaining trust, his faith? Nobody can deny the devotion he and Ram has for one-another. He has been the ultimate loser in this battle. Will the truth not break him furthur, making him more vulnerable?
General thinking goes that Shravan needs to know the truth to remove his bitterness about womankind.. Also, Ram needs to pay for manipulating a young Shravan into thinking his mother as a deserter and an adultress. And Nirmala deserves to be reunted with her son. But is it Suman's place to acheive the abovementioned objectives??
According to me, Ramnath is already bearing the fruits of his manipulations, when he sees Shravan's bitternress, there are scenes when he feels that what have I turned my innocent son into, this woman hating cynic?? And about Nimala deserving her son's love, don't you think her efforts are too little, too late. Time and tide wait for none. Or atleast she will have to make renewed efforts time and again to forge a new bond with Shravan without making Sumo as the mediator. And about cleansing Shravan of his bitterness, gradually he will loosen up when his and Sumo's love will grow for each other.
Sumo can be his best friend, his love. I do not wish to offend anybody, but anything else is not her pkace. All this reforging ties between mother-son, revealing truths and generally daily soapish Bahu actions should be refrained IMO .
So back to the question, dont you think that the truth should remain burried, let time and fate decide its predicament. Sumo should atleast not plunge him into the cold truth, the least she can do is soften its blow or rather let it lay down?? What are your thoughts? Wont the truth make Shravan retreat back to the darkest of melancholy abyss, the pits of depression? His dad has been his anchor, and snatching him wirh the snap of finger might just about break him?
