R I believe is single minded... he strongly believes that N was cheating on him. To him that hatred and anger towards N comes before Shravan. He did this when Shravan was sick, he fought with N and sent her out of the house and takes Shravan and shows him that N is having an affair with Ahuja.

Ramnath I would not say is black or grey. But he is the typical misogynistic guy who needed and needs psychiatric help. Would any mother want their son to go through this process? Mind you Nirmala is a women one generation before us... society was different then. Would she want Shravan to think of her as a promiscuous woman? She thought that by letting the custody go she would spare shravan this heartache. But R being R did end up in making Shravan hate his mom. As for two sides to the strory... I think there should have been enough news from R's side... he did make it clear to all and sundry that N ran away with Ahuja. So I am sure Sumo and every other Tiwari would know the jist. But N's side was a mystery till now...

Look at it now... N did see Shravan but you saw the reaction. The fear of this reaction is what made N stay back. She is not strong enough to handle it... then or now. She needs to be strong before she could help her son... sadly she is not strong enough.

Lets forget what N or R did. Lets look only at Shravan... here is this guy who has a lot of bottled up emotions, says he hates his mother, hates all women, has no respect for all women but Sumo. Badly breaks down when he thinks his dad is no more. Admires Chachi for being a good mother. Pushkar constantly trying to drive some sense in to Shra. Every one saw these reactions... but it was only Sumo who was able to see deeper... how he misses his mother. How that pent up anger in him is eating him inside out. So she is not trying to reunite mom and son. But she I believe wants shravan to give his mother a good hearing and take a call from then on. Meet like acquaintances But as we all know Shravan would simply run far away.

Shravan like N has been afraid to face the past. Now that the past is staring in front of his eyes... he too would start having questions and doubts. Hopefully his reasoning skills will kick in..

OLV would take us just so far... we need to evaluate what Sumo is trying to do from the actual episode. Having said that... I still think Sumo is right in what she did... Shravan has been a very unhappy man for the past 10 years and is still so in many ways. Is extremely insecure... sometimes the best thing to do would be to hit the nail on the head.

Hey Poppins, you are right about Ram. But, for me Niru who refused to clear her name not only for herself but for a sixteen year old impressionable boy is as much faulty as his father was. She knew he was a misogynist and yet she let her son live with this man without trying to clear the perceptions that were floating around. What is more regrettable that she allowed this lie to grow and develop. She didnt merely leave because she did not want her son to face the ongoing tussle, she left because she wanted him to have a clean image of herself. It is she which is prefiguring here, not a mother. And not even a woman because as a women she shouldnt have allowed her son to live with this misunderstanding or with this man.. And did she never once think as to what explanation Ram is going to give behind her back. She was an educated, independent working woman and more so, very aware of her husband's insecurities. All she does is to fly. And whats worse, now when the son is himself and independent man, well learned she is still being coaxed to meet by Sumo. I am sorry but i find her as much at fault as the father.

She knew the truth, but didnt have the guts to speak it aloud so that her image remains intact. In the process, her son's whole orientation regarding women, marriage and trust issues are thoroughly hampered. She could have helped even if she had left. Her son was mature for his age, he would have helped his father. The first time when Shra comes to know his mother has left, he did say that she cant do this. You must have said something to her. So he willing to hear both sides of the story.
Knowing that Ram is manipulative, she let him live with her son... who loved her.

Right Indrani. She is as much at fault as Ramnath. Both have worked a number on Shravan's psyche. He is scarred bcos of the actions of his parents. He didn't figure in their equation at all.
It was about their ego and who will get the upper hand.
Both failed as parents.

@Indrani @beagle @spnfan... i get ur point about Nirmala being equally at fault.
As for Sumo being at fault... both hands need to clap to make sound. Shravan could always have walked away from the situation. And I am sure Sumo would not have forced him anymore. Thing is his reaction make the case stronger. Also they are beyond friends... and are extremely close to each other at a deeper level. So some amount of interference is bound to be there. Similar to the khosla track.

Still feel Sumo would not have rashly made Shravan meet N. This is the girl who was keeping his mom away from him at all cost to ensure he does not get upset. Will wait and see how the cvs take it.

Walked away from the situation, how? I'm fairly certain, as things play out, the chachi will have a hand in the whole expose, but still, how was shravan to walk away from that confrontation. And did Suman allow him to walk away?

They are beyond friends, but nothing has been explicitly expressed yet. And yes, for friendship to move on to the next level, one needs to express it, to sort of 'legalise' it. And, in many ways, they know each other and yet they don't know each other. Time has carved them out into completely different individuals. It has added shades of different colours and marked them differently to what they were as children. Neither has had the time to get acquainted with those differing shades yet. So why jump the gun?

And yes, there was an external force at play to bring the entire drama to its culmination. Sumo may have loaded the gun, but someone else possibly pulled the trigger!

Intersting thread. Read all 10 pages. I still think Sumon is right to make Srvn meet his mom. Left to them, no one would take initiative and the guy would suffer forever. So what she might have to face his wrath but that's what friends do. Go out your way to help each other.

yes u said right. Its going to cause everyone pain but it needed to be done otherwise Shravan would have never come out of the chasm..

Tonu, Sumo is right to take the initiative to correct the perceptions of her friend. Unlike his mother who backed off to help him clear his doubts and misgivings. Only problem with Sumo, or rather my grouse against her is the fact she is taking things too lightly. it involves a family and child's vulnerabilities. And the fact that this child now grown up values her, trusts her, admires his Sumo... a fact not unknown to her even. She could have told him without building up the suspense. If she is in the line of crossfire it is only because her good intentionsnow would be seem as a lie, a breaking off Shrav's trust

Yes.There is so much bias. Shravan is biased towards Ramnath's opinion and Sumo towards Nirmala's.
Both parties r having only half the facts.
Sumo's heart was in the right place but her way was wrong. But then I guess there is no right and wrong in such kind of situations..

Beagle... wonderfully put
Sumo's rushing in tantamount to not only a breaching of trust placed upon her by Shrav but a serious flaw in her understanding of the whole situation. Even nanu who must be aware of their problems did not try to intervene. And Sumo without being aware of the complexity of the situation tried to solve the case as it was a mathematical problem. Which unfortunately it isnt. Here, nothing will add up but lead to only subtractions. I must say that Sumo's mind works too simplistically. relationships are not formulas to be pushed or coaxed so as to bring them in line. Also, it is a matter which has grown into a demonic shape in the last ten years. And she believes she can solve it in a jiffy. That is plain stupid for me. And if she had to intervene she could have done in a much better way than what would be shown in this week.
Why do all telly heroines have to be so stupid?😕
